The property was very clean and had everything we needed. The location and views were amazing. The only recommendations we have is that the deck needs cleaning off and the couch in the basement was very uncomfortable
Nice property
Clean and tidy
However the washing machine has a mold gasket around the door and should be addressed.
Also could use a bottle opener. The one they have is a can opener style which works but not very well.
So overall a very good stay
We spent spring break here with our kids and loved it. The house was as advertised and clean. Plenty of cookware ect. Kids loved playing at the park and taking walks around the lake. One minor thing that was a little odd was their was not really a place to put things in the bathrooms, basically small sinks and no countertops, so plan accordingly. Other that that the place was perfect for our trip. Pingpong table was a hit with my 3 boys.
Very beautiful property, with great windows overlooking the lake across the street.
Great for families or individuals seeking a quiet yet conveniently located getaway.
Short drive to Asheville and countless hiking excursions. All around wonderful!
The property was as advertised. The check in process was easy and the house was well supplied. Our son enjoyed the game room downstairs. We would stay again if in the area.
The property was well laid out for the kids to play in and adults to visit. Plenty of seating. . The welcome packs were very nice. There was plenty of parking, and it was easy to get to. Tomahawk Lake nearby was beautiful. Beds were comfortable. We enjoyed our stay.
Black Mountain is a perfect town for us. Walkable and safe with lots of shops and restaurants to explore. We tried 2 breweries in town and really loved them both as well. The house had more than enough room for our group of 6.
I stayed at this property with 2 friends and their children. Our children ranged in age between 9-16, and they declared this the most fun place to stay ever. They especially loved the "game room" in the basement. The adults loved walking the trail around the lake and the proximity to the cute town of Black Mountain. The house was clean and beautiful and the owners were very responsive.
My family and I spend 3 nights at this great house in Black Mountain. It was a short and easy 15-20 min drive to Asheville. The house itself was beautifully updated, clean, large, and packed full of amenities. The host even greeted us with a extremely tasteful pumpkin bread/cake. Everything we needed was there and the check in and check out process was very easy. I would absolutely recommend staying here.
The problem we had was the property manager was good to call back or answer the phone but when we told them the upper part of the dishwasher didn’t work they said they would tell someone and no one ever came. Luckily we were able to use the bottom drawer to the dishwasher which was very small
Our stay was wonderful at this charming modern styled house. You can't beat the location that is right next to a pretty lake and community with good paths for walking. Its also in walking distance of downtown Black Mountain. Everyone in our group enjoyed their stay and would happily come back here again.
We had a great stay at this property! It has such a nice space layout for a longer stay (we stayed almost a full week). The listing is super accurate. The house is very well equipped- I actually think the listing undersells it a bit :). Location is fabulous- right across the street from the pool and the lake and a playground- as well as walkable to town. Greybeard are amazing as property managers- super responsive and helpful- including helping us find info unrelated to our stay at the house. Black Mountain is a great jumping off point to explore the Ashville area. One minor complaint about Black Mountain was just the lack of outdoor eating options mid-pandemic. So many places seem to be closed, running reduced hours, or have limited outdoor seating, but that's an issue everywhere these days. I mention it so folks can plan ahead. All in all, I HIGHLY recommend this property. One of our best stays yet (we recently switched from the other major home share sites to VRBO, but we have stayed at a ton of properties globally and this is definitely top 5). Thanks to our hosts!
Comfortable, convenient, and fun property! Newly renovated, and close to downtown Black Mountain, Tomahawk lake, and swimming pool. Very quiet and spacious, with great kitchen appliances, ping pong, TVs, and great deck areas. Will definitely rent again!
The location is phenomenal. It is tucked away in the mountains, right across the street from the pond. It's probably walking distance to the shops but we were there in winter so didn't try to brave the cold.
The property is great - recently updated very nicely. Fully stocked kitchen with all the cooking utensils you could possibly need. The only quibbles that would make the furnishings 4 stars instead of 5 are the low quality of the mattress in the small bedroom and that the basement has area rug over lots of the floor but is uncomfortable concrete on part. Still a 5 star overall rental.
We had a great time here. There were 8 of us and the kitchen/dining area was our favorite area to hangout - there were plenty of seats for all of us! There were actually 4 beds available (only 3 monitored in listing) so we did not need to use the pull out sofa as a bed. The kitchen was very updated with appliances, and while the bathrooms were also updated, the sinks were tiny in the restrooms. Overall great stay and would stay here again.
