Great place

Wonderful location in town and close to beach! Allowed animals and spacious enough to sleep and have room to move. Loved the screened in back porch! The hot tub was perfect for 3! Very easy to get to!

Berry’s Stay

Everything was great except for the Hot Tub not working properly. I had requested to have it ready because the main reason we chose this house over others! They finally came out after we left and said the memory board was bad and would be two weeks? This could have been done since the last tenant was there in June!

Beautiful house!

I absolutely loved this house. It's a beautiful house and I love the hot tub on the back deck. There's also a fenced in backyard that my dogs loved too! We will definitely stay here in the future.

Wonderful and clean!

Due to the previous reviews, I was nervous about staying 5 nights between Christmas and NYE. I messaged Oak Island Accommodations several times before our stay and they were fabulous. They assured me that the hot tub was functional and that the house would be ready and welcoming. They were right! It was cleaner than we could have imagined and that hot tub was superb! The weather was a bit too warm to fully enjoy it though. Lol! Thank you so much for everything and we can't wait to come back to Oak Island!!

Our stay at Hook Wine & Sinker

Well we enjoyed our stay at Hook Wine & Sinker, but we feel there should be some type of discount in refund back to our account Due to it advertised it came with Hot-Tub and it did, We were looking forward to using it - But it was Broke and non-usable, so that was a Big disappointment, also we had to clean & spray Lysol - also Febreze to help with the smell. The carpet was stained really bad in the bedrooms, so stained that the carpet needs to be replaced..

Oak Island Visit

The wife and I decided kind of last minute to get one last beach trip in this year. Our experience was a mixed bag. We were told would could not get in the house early(4PM check in)because of the need for extra cleaning due to Covid. So we had to waste like 2 hours waiting to get in. When we finally were allowed in we found the carpets had not even been vacuumed(I went ahead and vacuumed the areas we would be using), trash cans in master bedroom and bathroom had not been emptied, carpets had stains all over the place. The screened in porch had cobwebs everywhere, the tables looked like they had not been wiped in months, the cushions for the furniture had not been cleaned in quite awhile. Windows were very dirty with many, many cobwebs in them(science experiment)!!. Kitchen cabinets and bathroom cabinets were stained. Not sure where the extra Covid cleaning was?? The house has three bedrooms and two full baths so it sleeps probably 6-8 people, yet the biggest frying pan was like a 6 inch frying pan....how could you possibly cook for that many with one little frying pan. We could barely cook for two!! The propane tank for the grill was empty. Other things that were not that big of a deal, but should be addressed.....master bathroom sink has a slow drip leak, the microwave oven over-counter light is out. Again is was astonishing to be told we could not check in until 4PM because of extra cleaning. As for the neighborhood it did not seem like most people took a lot of pride in their properties. Lawns were mostly weeds, neighbor next to the house had "Beware of Dog" signs up along with "No Trespassing" signs so not exactly welcome to the neighborhood type feeling. For the positives(sort of)...Oak Island is a great beach and the location of the house was pretty good although I do think Oak Island should have pedestrian crossings on the main road as the street is very busy and it is like 0.7 miles to the beach so pretty much had to drive to the beach( no way to directly cross street due to traffic so usually had to take a right and immediate left to get to the beach), but there was adequate parking. Grocery stores and restaurants were convenient. Beach was beautiful with many friendly people. Overall we enjoyed Oak Island as this was our first trip there, but the house left a lot to be desired.

Cleanliness

Carpets very dirty and small amount of animal waste on the carpet. My daughter fell out of a broken chair on the deck and hurt her arm!!! Outside of that not a bad place to visit a while.

Amazing Getaway

We had such a blast at this rental. it slept us all very well. great porch and huge dining and sitting area. Kitchen had all the items and appliances one would need. The 10 min walk to the beach was also great and being downtown near all the restaurants, beaches, bars and shops was awesome. Plan to book a stay on the island next year. Oak Island was a perfect choice!
