King size bed and queen pull out can sleep up to four in 600 sq. ft lower level apartment. Large living room, kitchen and bath with Wi-fi, TV and utility room available. Our basement apartment offers lots of privacy with off-street parking and your own separate entrance. Conveniently located just a 4 minute walk to express buses for easy access to Seattle Center, Pike Place Market, downtown and all the other wonderful attractions Seattle has to offer. Great place to stay

Alice is a wonderful host. We checked-in pretty late at night, and Alice was more than accommodating. Her basement apartment is very roomy and comfortable, and the off-street parking in the driveway is a nice bonus. There’s also free off-street parking if needed as well. The neighborhood is lovely, and there are restaurants and shopping within walking distance. The bus stop is only a few blocks away, which can get you anywhere you need to go in Seattle. We took the bus to Climate Pledge Arena to see the Kraken, and it was very convenient and affordable. We had a great stay - would definitely stay here again!

Perfect for our long weekend visit in Ballard area!

We came to the Ballard area for a long weekend to visit our daughter and this property was perfect for our needs. Great location in a quiet neighborhood, walkable to several restaurants and coffee shops, off street parking, personable host, very clean and neat property with everything we needed.

Great couple of days in Ballard

Alice was wonderful and attentive and the basement was good for two. It was very big, quiet, and fairly comfortable - nothing too fancy but served our purposes well. The neighborhood is nice and accessible.

Ballard Beauty

This was the perfect basement apartment for our 2nd trip to Ballard, and Alice is an amazing host! She greeted us upon arrival, even though it was late, and got us setup with our very comfortable stay. The spot is convenient to bus lines and walkable to a lot of great places. We would stay again, and probably will!

This is a large space in the basement of a nice house in a nice neighborhood bordering the trendy Ballard neighborhood. It was convenient to all the area has to offer. Well equipped kitchen. Good value!

Comfortable and great location!

This is a great location to Ballard and downtown Seattle. Alice was a gracious host and very responsive. The apartment is very comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need to cook. One of the pluses is the off street parking! We will definitely stay here again on another visit.

Nice short visit

Everything worked out great. Alice was communicative and the place was easy to access. Bed seems well loved with a tall peak in the middle but since it was just me it was fine. Didn't spend much time in the place but it worked well for my trip!

Excellent stay

I have nothing but good things to say about our stay here. The location was walkable, close to public transportation and felt very safe. The suite is spacious, well laid out with interesting art. Kitchen had all we needed and more and the bed was not only huge but comfortable. Alice is an excellent host.

Comfortable, spacious and convenient

We stayed for 2 days in Alice’s bottom floor rental. We had the entire bottom floor which offered a large bedroom, living area with large TV, sofa-sleeper, chair, coffee table and fireplace. The kitchen was well supplied and laundry washer and dryer available in the basement entryway. The bathroom was small with quite small shower, but the water stream was strong and we had plenty of hot water. The location is convenient to going all places of interest, and parking off street in Alice’s driveway was a plus. Overall, we were very pleased with the rental and would rent again.

Great weekend stay in Ballard.

Nice little basement apartment that was close to so many things. It was only a 15 minute drive to the waterfront in downtown Seattle. The evenings setting out on the patio were very relaxing. Alice, the host, was super nice and walked us through everything when we checked in. We will definitely stay again when we return to the Seattle area. and was

Lovely place to stay!

Alice was amazing in helping us sort our trip here, she went above and beyond. Really impressed with the apartment, location was great and was really easy to get about by car and public transport. We travelled over from England and our first time here, will definitely come back one day!

Fantastic stay!

Alice's suite was well appointed, clean, and quite large. The kitchen had everything we could ever need and a nice full sized fridge. We enjoyed exploring Ballard and beyond and having a comfortable home to come back to after a long day was just so great. Alice was welcoming and great with communication. Perfect spot

This place is perfect, host was amazing. Beds were comfy and everything was just right!!! Highly recommend if you’re in the area. Grocery is right up the road and it’s central to a lot of stuff. Uber to space needle/mopop area was around $30. Great that there was onsite parking.

Convenient to Seattle

We had a short 2 day stay. Communication was good with Alice. Her accommodations were in the basement of her home with windows for decent light and easy opening for great cross ventilation. The king bed was comfortable and appreciated, and the living room was roomy with plenty of seating. The kitchen had sufficient cooking equipment. The parking was tight in the driveway for a big truck, but we were able to make it work.

I'm a retired non-profit executive. I love my roses and having people enjoy my home. I've lived in Ballard since 1975 and seen it change from a quiet Scandinavian neighborhood to a trendy hangout for young professionals with lots of local coffee shops, restaurants, bars and breweries. It still reflects some of its Nordic Heritage with the nearby fishing fleet, a few shops and National Nordic museum.
My roots are in corn country in the Midwest, so my interest in gardening comes naturally. I have a concrete lamb on the front porch and a straw pig planter on the back deck just to remind me of the farm
I am active in politics and you will often see a political sign in my yard and or window.

Why they chose this property

My son attended preschool nearby and everyday I would pass this house and thought how wonderful it would be to own this brick Tudor. We already enjoyed living in the area and we were outgrowing our little 2 bedroom bungalow. When I saw the sign For Sale By Owner, we jumped at the chance to buy it. I have never been sorry.
The previous owner had a large pool table in what is now the downstairs bedroom. My son lived downstairs while attending college and I've rented it off and on to friends. A water problem in 2015 damaged drywall and furnishings. I've done extensive remodeling - creating a secure entrance, upgrading the bathroom, lighting and appliances and installing new flooring throughout.
I love that the property is in Ballard on a fairly quiet street with well-maintained single-family homes, but close to public transportation and all the amenities Ballard and Seattle have to offer - Woodland Park Zoo, the beach, restaurants with great seafood, Greenlake, the waterfront, the locks with the salmon ladder, Pike Place Market, breweries within a mile, and world-class museums. These are a few of my favorite things, but you can discover many more.

What makes this property unique

I was particularly attracted to the brick Tudor architecture of the house. The brick wall and steps and sidewalk leading up to the porch and front door set it off from the other houses on the block. The original fireplace in the living room and row of leaded glass windows in the dining room are distinctive. At one time it was the parsonage for the church property next door. In addition to the property being well-maintained, I appreciate the more expansive lawn area on the side yard. It has a longer paved driveway that accommodates safe, off street parking for guests' vehicles - a distinct advantage in a busy neighborhood within parking range of Ballard high school.with its many student drivers.
