Great place to stay!

This was a great place to stay during our vacation to Gulf Shores! It’s down Ft. Morgan road, so it’s a bit of a drive to town. But it has easy beach access and is very affordable. The facility also has several pools, which were great! Would definitely recommend.

Perfect Stay

Our first time to Fort Morgan and the location of the unit was perfect. Upon arrival it was clean and well stocked. It was a little small for four but as long as we kept it neat and tidy it was fine. The complex was awesome and the vibes were high all week. The weather was a dream and the jellyfish were not bad at all. My only complaint is the 10 digit door code. It was hard to remember and hard to access the unit. I was the only one out of my party that could do it! We Will Be back and will recommend to others.

Loved it!

The room was perfect for our first family trip, the view was BEAUTIFUL and it wasn't hard to find. It had everything we needed just in case we left something behind, very sweet.

Amazing stay at fort Morgan

We absolutely loved our stay. The room was well taken care of with all the amenities you needed for your stay. Our room even had beach extras that we happen to fine, noodles, floats for little ones and tons of beach toys. We loved how quite the location was as well.

Cute, family friendly stay.

We love the easy access to the beach, pools, and restaurant. Being able to see the shore from our balcony is always a favorite when we come here! Room was clean and comfortable. Just wish there had been a Roku or some sort of streaming availability for the TV.

Spring Break 2024

When we got to the condo, the door code provided did not work so I had to call customer service. It was inconvenient but Vacasa rep was very helpful and we were in the condo in no time. The condo was small for the 4 of us but we made it work. I had all I needed in the kitchen to cook dinner and all kitchen amenities provided were super helpful! The blankets weren’t fresh but plenty were available to use. The master bedroom bed was super comfortable! The girls let me know the outlets to charge their phones were in awkward places. Some outlets wouldn’t hold the chargers in place. They would fall out! There was plenty of room to sit and eat or hang out in the dining room. The sliding door to the balcony was broken but what a nice view of the Gulf! I really would recommend replacing that sofa in the living room. It felt like I was gonna slide off of it. It wasn’t comfortable at all. It looked very dated and used. Overall, this condo was small but useful for a 4 night stay. But not the most “aesthetic” or updated condo on the plantation property. I’ve stayed in several now and this one was my least favorite. But the girls and I had a great time on SB. My favorite part of the condo was the balcony with the view of the ocean and the master bed!

Super location, so-so condo

Great location, but condo needs some attention, needs a good deep cleaning- dirty/greasy baking pans, dirty baseboards, filthy vent cover, dirty edges on stove. Bedroom desperately needs bkackout curtains (walkway and parking lot lights are very bright- almost impossible to sleep because do much light coming in) furniture very dated, and patio furniture was extremely stained and multiple pieces were broken. No broom in condo.

Needs work and more security.

The patio furniture needs to be replaced. Most was broken and I was afraid to sit in it with fear that it would break and I’d have to replace. I notified Vacasa and they informed us that a manager would come by … no one ever came by. Didn’t get to enjoy the patio as much as I’d hoped. Also the door code we received didn’t work. Had to call in. They finally gave a code that worked and it was the room number backwards. This is very unsecured. I hope this isn’t a regular thing with Vacasa to program their door codes this way.

Disappointed

We have stayed in at least 8-10 different condos at Gulf Shore Plantation. This room was the only one we didn’t enjoy. All of the patio furniture was either broken or very cheap and uncomfortable. One of th bar stools legs where bent and you couldn’t sit on it. The skillets to cook on where as cheap as I have ever seen. They where so thin I couldn’t cook on them. The stove top eyes where crooked. The over all them was cheap furniture and cheap appliances. Needs a huge upgrade to come close to all the other rooms we have stayed in from out many trips in the past. We will never rent that room again. Ever!! I would not recommend it to anyone. They only had 2 rolls of toilet tissue and only 2 trash bags and we where staying for 5 days. We also had several issues with the door locks and had to call to get back in the room. I feel like we waisted our money on this room. We will be back to Gulf-shores in the fall but not in this room. I would suggest that the owners invest in new furniture, over, and cookware and for goodness sake get a spatula to cook with. There wasn’t one in the condo. The beach, the pool and everything else was awesome as usual. The room was the worst ever. Just being honest.

A cancer in paradise.

To celebrate my birthday, I flew in for the weekend and spent the week in paradise! All was pretty amazing except for the room/the plantation. I’ve been coming to the plantation every year, since being a small child. I’ve never had a more outdated, ran down, smelly, falling apart, condo… in roughly 25/30 years. Used shampoo and conditioner, soap bars in the bathroom, a load of towels in the dryer, dishes in the dishwasher, sand in the “clean” sheets, blood smeared on the bathroom wall, and a dead rodent odor that would not go away. The couch was blue/gray flower print from the 80’s, which would’ve been beautiful, only it’s not supposed to be gray at all- it’s just the filthy layer of years and years of use and never being replaced…so nasty we didn’t sit on it. I was just there in June with the whole family, and noticed some things with the 3 condos we had on the first floor of the palms, and we also sat 53 minutes on hold waiting for a door code to get in, and not a single REAL PERSON was around to help. Sucked after DRIVING 15 hours with 21 family members, being ready to get out of the car… but we let it go and didn’t want to make a fuss… it’s just sad to see how down hill the place has gone as a whole. If you’ve never been, you don’t miss what you don’t know.. for those who’ve known it as their 2nd home, you just know!!. The resort workers used to chat in person while cleaning up around the courtyards, ask you how your stay was going.. they had real live people there, willing to help you navigate your trip, get settled in, enjoy your stay… I can only imagine the money that we’ve spent over all these years…You pay for a service, for a nice get away and to relax and unwind. Half the pools and hot tubs were out of commission half our stay. I noticed over the last few years, they close all pools, hot tubs and amenities at 10, it used to be 11. So night swim for grown ups hasn’t been a thing for our family down there in a long time. The security staff working the check in gate- horrible! “The first impression”is those people- renting balls, racquets, golf clubs, you have to deal with these people. They made me leave my drivers license for a golf club rental, when coming back that evening, my ID was lost. The lady there first accused me of lying, and had a really bad attitude with me and said “we’ll I don’t know what to tell you”. I took a picture of their 1-800 support number and was going to reach out to their higher up… obviously I needed my ID/DL to drive and travel. The gentleman with longer hair, ball cap and beard was very helpful, and ultimately found my ID. But only after the lady, I think Pat was her name; accused me of lying and then told me basically “oh well”. These are the people representing your company and dealing with your paying customers- change it!! Gods scenery, never disappoints.. but between our June family trip and now this weekend trip. I think I’ve had enough and it’s time to find a new home away from home. Gulf shores plantation is now, no more than a place to lay your head at night and use some (whatever’s not closed, closed early, or broken) amenities.

Room Okay, Vacasa was terrible.

Room needed to be updated, stains on couch, chair and pillows. Needs to be sprayed for roaches. Called Vacasa about parking passes not being in the room, sent text messages for 2 days to get a piece of paper delivered (parking passes) to our room, we could not leave the condo unless we purchased a parking pass, we never did get one.

GREAT STAY!!

We really enjoyed our stay at this location. The property was clean and the balcony was where we spent the majority of our time. Other than the code for the door didn't work when we first arrived, the property manager/company made it right. Just wished that there were more places to eat and/or hangout near by.

What a view!

Enjoyed the stay, fantastic view. You could smell the cleanliness when you walk in. Only suggestion would be to clean the cushions on the couch. Was disappointed that I could not find an indoor pool as listed even though I had the wrist bands and pass card available. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

Great distance from the beach!

I wasn't sure of how far we would be from the beach because I hate walking back so long after being in the sun all day. This place was perfect. The pools, sauna, tennis court, swings, hot tubs and indoor pool were great. The room is a not out dated but did not take away from our experience. We didn’t stay in the room much at all.

Master Bedroom Commentary.

Master bedroom lamp was broken, notable because there was no overhead light. The lampshade was just plopped on top of the lamp. Luckily, my husband dug out the broken metal from the old bulb, and I found a replacement bulb under the sink and could fit the lamp shade over the new bulb. So, good Girl Scout. We definitely left the place better than we found it. We definitely did not break the lamp in the Master Bedroom. Also, the sheets should fit the Master bed. The sheets didn’t cover the mattress, so every morning the sheets were in a ball and you had to make the bed from scratch. This is an easy fix…. Just purchase sheets to fit the bed.

Location great

We loved the location of this property to the beach. And loved the family atmosphere- we could send our older children outside to play on the lawn, the pool and the tennis court and watch them from the balcony so that was all pluses for us. The air filter was over full and we bought one at Walmart to replace it so we had better air quality. And a lamp in the bedroom was broken. I was pleased that there was a small stacked washer dryer in the space. And the owners made the closet with beach/play equipment available to guests. The kids slept fine on the bunks and pull out couch. The lower bunk is very close to the top bunk- i could not have slept there but fine for kids. Plenty of towels and extra blankets, kitchen well equipped. Overall a good place to stay if you are planning to spend plenty of time outside, gets a little crowded inside with 5 people.

Perfect for a Family Oriented Atmosphere

We had an excellent stay. The entry/access to the room was easy and well planned. We also felt very secure with the amount of security features in place...and the entry drive-to die for! Our stay there was very much water oriented. The beach access was so easy to get to and the pools were perfect for a place to let loose or relax with our two kids. The Sassy Bass was also amazing to have close to our condo to get all three meals if you wanted! Ice was also available which was a nice surprise. The elevator access was very nice to make the trips to and from locations easier with our family. The room was the perfect size for our family and had an amazing 2nd story front view to all activities/the Gulf. This was perfect if you like to people watch like we do. The courtyard also had a great area to play ball with your family or set up corn hole or whatever game you brought/wanted. The property was just as described. Nothing fancy, but many added features Such as ALL the beach gear you need to enjoy the sandy areas and salt water! Thanks for a great stay!
