Great cabin on the water Excellent family property. Don't bother looking for a better place, this is it. Authentic cabin in the woods. Camille is great to work with. You won't find better customer service or a place to stay.
we loved the house, the beds were great, the kitchen was spacious and well stalked . The views are beautiful Yes looking across the lake. The kids really enjoyed the kayaks and jumping off the dock into the water. So close to Yellowstone and other fun things. Camille was a great host who was always available for communication
This was the perfect location for us to explore Yellowstone but also break it up with some fun days on the lake! The house held 2 couples and 4 teens perfectly. Plenty of different sitting areas to hang out so we never felt cramped and the 4th of July fire works show on the dock was the best we've seen! We'd stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks for the memories!
This was our first trip to Idaho/Montana and we couldn't have asked for a better cabin. The cabin was very spacious and clean. Staying on the lake provided multiple activities without having to go far. Yellowstone and many more outdoor activities are in close distance to the cabin. I highly recommend the Mesa Falls 😊. Not only was the cabin fabulous, Camille was a great host that was responsive and truly wanted us to have the best experience. We wish we could have stayed longer 😁!
We loved staying at this location. It is a great little cabin with access to the water. The neighbors were great and helpful. We pulled our 23ft boat right into the neighborhood (albeit on some pretty narrow roads) and was able to launch and dock the boat with little difficulty. We had to store the trailer at a different location in the neighborhood- but that may be because the angle between the driveway and the road was a little tight for my liking. Overall - we loved it and would stay there again.
We really enjoyed our stay at Camille’s cabin. It was fun to be on the water; everyone enjoyed using the kayaks & drinking coffee on the balcony with a view of the water. The cabin was clean, and Camille communicated quickly when needed. The only down side was how hot it got upstairs (which is mentioned in her online details). There are 6 small beds upstairs, and it wasn’t comfortable to be upstairs until at least 9:00pm, even with leaving the window fan running & the window shades closed during the day as instructed. In my opinion, an actual window a/c unit instead of a fan would make a world of difference up there. I would return to Camille’s cabin In the summer with that one upgrade; otherwise, I would visit in the fall or winter. Thanks Camille!
We had an excellent stay at Camille’s cabin. It held 3 couples easily. The kitchen was great, we loved the sunroom as we called it, just before you go on the deck. We enjoyed coffee and breakfast there while it was a bit chilly on the deck. We enjoyed kayaking and playing ping ping as well. The fireplace, however wasn’t working. That was the only drawback and I’m not sure it was identified on the website. Camille was great to work with and our family thoroughly enjoyed our time. We would come back!

This home was very clean, but be aware of issues that may impact your stay:
1. Lots of stairs, difficult for a few in our party. Also on a steep lot so it’s a real challenge in a large vehicle
2. Water is on some sort of intermittent pump, so as you shower the temperature cycles from scalding hot to ice cold throughout your shower regardless of what temperature you try to achieve. It was miserable
3. Half the house is very old with baseboard heating, the other half is much newer with a heat pump. The living room is in the old half and was cold. Luckily we brought a space heater
4. The fireplace is gorgeous but cannot be used due to “smoke” issues. That was a real bummer
Idaho review
The pictures don’t do this lovely place justice! The cabin was well stocked and clean, you can tell the owners take pride and enjoy this place! The location is beautiful. I enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the ducks and
Drinking my coffee in the morning. We used this as a Basecamp to explore Yellowstone. The park entrance is about 35 minutes away. There is a great little pizza place near Mack’s landing. Would absolutely stay here again!

Overall great cabin. Very comfortable and right on Island park Reservoir. We were able to get up and fish to start the day and end the day each evening. We even caught a few fish. A short 26 mile drive to the West entrance of Yellowstone and only a 20 mile drive to Mesa Falls and Herriman Park. Fantastic location!!!
The cabin was very clean and had all of the amenities it advertised. Loved the WiFi, multiple bedrooms and beautiful deck. Saw wildlife daily and all of the folks in the community were very friendly. I would recommend this rental to other families that want a cabin away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
This is a great little cabin to stay at. Very quiet location. My family and I enjoyed grilling, roasting marshmallows on the outdoor fire pit, kayaking, ping pong, and the great view off the deck. We traveled to Yellowstone park which was only about 30 minutes. Had a great time and the owner respond quickly to all my questions. Would love to stay again!

Probably not again…
Let’s start with what went well. The 3 kayaks were great. The tables on the deck were awesome for eating meals. It was well stocked with paper products (tp and paper towel). The bed in the master was very comfortable.
Unfortunately, we had several issues with the place. To begin with, the location on the listing took us to an incorrect location. After 40 minutes of searching the area, we did finally find the house. I was panicked because we had a large group and none of us could find the house. The correct directions to the house are in a book INSIDE the house.
Next, we had no check-in information. Camille did return my call within a few minutes. Camille says she emailed me the information, but I had no email. There is also no check-in information on her listing. It’s in a book inside the house along with the correct directions to house.
When we did get into the house, it wasn’t very clean and there were no instructions for necessary housekeeping details. We found someone else’s dirty socks in one of the beds, coffee grounds and grime all over the bottom of the coffee maker, dirty appliances and cabinets, and the bathroom rugs were disgusting. There was mouse poop on the counter and ants all over. There were no instructions for trash other than the fee listed to be levied if we didn’t take it “out”. She left no information as to where the trash was to be taken or the fact that the dump was closed on Sundays and Mondays. That means we loaded the trash in our car and drove to the dump before our Monday check out only to discover the dump was closed. She said to only use their dock but didn’t tell us which dock was theirs. With 3 docks in front of the house, we didn’t know which one to use. Lastly, there were wet towels left in the washer which began to smell up the entire house. I found them on our last day when I started to wash the towels we had used for Camille.
It is listed for 11, but the upstairs is almost uninhabitable during the summer. It gets so hot during the day that it doesn’t cool off very well until late in the night. Also, the bunk beds are very unstable.
There are no details about anything on the listing. She says to bring your own wood for the fire pit, fill the propane if it is empty, and don’t use the towels outside in a book in the cabin, but all of those things should be told ahead of time so we could have come prepared.
The kitchen is ill equipped for the number of guests the house is listed to hold.
This house has a spectacular backyard. We kayaked and played ping pong and fished and sat on the dock. All supplies were there for all the outdoor activities. The house was well stocked. We brought a few staples thinking we would need to visit the store…..but everything was there. We stayed here for our visit to Yellowstone - it was kinda far but after seeing one person on top of another in West Yellowstone, we were super pleased with our choice. Camille was easy to communicate with and answered the phone when I had a question at check in. Beds were comfortable. Lots of beds upstairs. I would definitely recommend this house to others.
I rented this cabin because it was near Yellowstone National Park & it was appealing since it’s on the water!
We stayed 3 nights & 2 1/2 days and had a blast! There were seven of us on this family trip celebrating our grandson’s graduation from high school!
There were plenty of beds; however, the weather turned quite warm while we were there (early June) & without A/C it took awhile for house to cool down every day! There were numerous fans throughout the cabin which helped. By bedtime it was comfortable & actually a little chilly every morning!
We found plenty of activities nearby....Yellowstone is an easy drive (about 30 minutes) & our grandkids enjoyed getting on the water using the kayaks. We also rented a boat from the marina across the way and spent 3-4 hours one day tubing! Everyone had a fun time!
The cabin’s kitchen was well furnished & I found it easy to cook there. I also appreciated having access to the washer & two dryers! Since we were heading to Bryce Canyon & Mt. Zion next it was nice to wash clothes & be ready for the rest of our trip!
Camille was great to work with and was always quick to answer any questions I had. If you are planning a trip to this area, Camille’s cabin is a wonderful place to stay.
This lake front cabin is quiet and private plenty of room for a large family, lake front access is awesome especially with the kayaks provided by the owners makes lots of fun for the kids short drives to many local attractions made it a good base camp for our Yellowstone vacation
We had a great time at the property it was big enough for us to have plenty of room it was in a great location and we would recommend our friends to stay there
This was the perfect getaway for my family. This property allowed us to vacation away from people and keep our kids connected with online distance learning. Played games and used the kayaks provided. We stayed 5 nights which allowed us to explore locally and go to Yellowstone a couple days. It was a wonderful location and house.
This beautiful cabin exceeded all of our expectations!!! The location was fabulous, about 40 minutes from the Yellowstone West entrance, had a dock on the water right in front of the house. We spent many peaceful hours fishing, kayaks were available too! The house had everything we needed, well appointed, could tell the owners cared for it with pride. Although it was just my husband and I, there was plenty of room for a big family. The wifi worked beautifully, netfix and prime video all set up for movie nights, just bring the jiffypop:) The owners were great communicators and easy to work with. We already want to go back!!

Had a great time!
We wish the owner would’ve informed us the boat dock was completely out of the water, but all in all we had a great time!
Our favorite spot was the sun room that looked out on the water. We visited the second week of September and it was too cold in the morning to be outside but the sun room was the perfect place to enjoy the views and relax.
What a fantastic location and cabin! A great place to spend time with family and friends. The cabin offers two separate bedrooms on a first floor (a great master bedroom with its own balcony) and an "under the roof" area with lots of beds (it gets a bit hot under the roof). There are 3 kayaks at the cabin with a dock on the river, a fire pit, outdoor table/sitting. The place is lovely and well appointed.

About the host
Hosted by Camille Buhman
My family and I love the outdoors. We can't get enough of the water and activities in Island Park. We love the Island Park Playhouse, ice cream parlor and countless trails for ATVs and mountain bikes. When we are bushed from running around, we bar-b-que or watch the wildlife from our decks. We also play games and nap around the cabin.
Why they chose this property
My family loved the appeal of this cabin and the fact that one can gaze at the river, eagles, river otter and other critters all day long. When we purchased it, it was rough. We've overhauled it quite well, but we always have a chore to complete. The good news for you is that you don't! The cabin comes with linens, towels, full stocked kitchen (except for munchies). Bring your fishing pole and fish from the deck (morning and evening best), hike, horseback ride, mountain bike through the trials located off 1st and A streets, float the Henry Fork River, kayak, visit Yellowstone or Herriman Parks, or boat. If you'd like to relax, take long walks, read and eat at Boondocks.
What makes this property unique
The water is only steps away from the door. We invite our guests to use our kayaks, bar-b-que, ping pong table and patio furniture. Feel free to use our full laundry room. Please check to find if there are clean towels in the dryer. There
