About this property
Casa Las Plumerias: Heated Pool - Spa - BBQ - 1/3 acre yard
Our resort-style home provides a peaceful escape in South Florida. Walk to shops & restaurants or bike to the beach about 2 miles away! The 1/3 acre lot includes a lush garden with palms, mangos, and rare tropical fruits. Glass doors invite the outside in: step onto the patio to dine alfresco or lounge by the heated pool. Socialize indoors in the open-layout living area, or retire to the bedrooms, each with direct access to the yard. At night, soak in the hot tub surrounded by rainbow lights.
Casa Las Plumerias welcomes you from the moment you step in the door. You and your guests will enjoy four sizable bedrooms, a large common space with perfect flow from the huge kitchen to the living area to the glassed-in dining area with seating for 8 people.
Our home is perfect for anywhere from two to eight people. Each bedroom has access to the outdoors, and two bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms. Each room is outfitted with high end linens and room darkening curtains:
Primary Bedroom: King bed, 55” smart TV, ensuite bath
Bedroom 2: Queen bed, workstation with ethernet
Bedroom 3: Queen bed, reading nook
Bedroom 4: Queen bed, workstation, 45" smart TV, ensuite bath
In the living area, enjoy vibrant home cinema on a 77" Samsung S90C Smart TV with HW-Q800C soundbar. From the dining area, watch wildlife in the yard, including songbirds at the bird feeder.
Our gourmet kitchen is a chef’s dream with high-end Samsung Bespoke appliances (induction cooktop + convection oven, french door refrigerator + freezer with ice maker, microwave, and dishwasher). We include a wide range of cooking tools including silverware, plates, glassware, wine glasses, measuring cups and spoons, pots and pans, cooking utensils, potato peeler, rolling pin, cheese grater, knife set, cutting boards, colander, mixing bowls, wine key with bottle opener, many baking pans, pots and pans, can opener, meat thermometer, BBQ tools, cleaning supplies, salt + pepper grinders, olive oil, and herbs & spices.
The yard includes a screened porch, a built-in gas grill, an outdoor shower, a heated pool, six loungers, canopy umbrellas, and a dining table. A soothing fountain adds to the ambiance, and a wide range of tropical fruit trees offer fruit in season: mango, jaboticaba, starfruit, two different avocados, cacao, guanabana, coconut, guava, jackfruit, Surinam cherry, key lime, rangpur lime, Meyer lemon, and calamondin.
Guests will have access to the entire house with the exception of two locked owner's closets.
The driveway can accommodate a maximum of three vehicles. No street parking permitted.
You'll have a personal code to open the smart lock on the front door.
Each of the four bedrooms has independent access to the back yard.
One corner of the property is reserved as a fenced-in private patio for our in-law apartment. This apartment shares a wall with the living room, but the wall is 12" thick concrete block and provides excellent acoustic privacy.
We are in touch via the VRBO app and also provide our mobile numbers for emergencies.
Otherwise, our local assistants can help with anything you might need.
We live in a quiet residential neighborhood just a few blocks from Oakland Park City Hall.
Walk only two or three blocks to some of our favorite restaurants: Nour Thai, The Butcher's Barrel, Funky Buddha, and Red Sea.
Walk seven blocks to Oakland Park Boulevard where you can catch a bus. Heading west you can walk to Aldi, and heading east you'll reach a shopping center (Publix, Target, AMC theater, etc).
It takes about 15 minutes to bike to the beach.
In good traffic, the Fort Lauderdale airport is only 15 minutes away by car, and popular Wilton Drive less than 5 minutes away.
Quiet hours are from 9:00 pm - 7:00 am. The City of Oakland Park has a strict noise ordinance in place and may fine or terminate the rental if a violation occurs. Please be advised the neighbors pay close attention to the rules and they will report any issues. Guests will not be refunded if they violate the noice ordinance and are asked to leave. Guests may be responsible for any fines imposed on the host from code enforcement as a result of the violation.
*** Absolutely no parties

*** No smoking indoors - $500 fine strictly enforced
*** No unregistered guests allowed on property during the day or overnight
*** No street parking - driveway only and holds up to 3 cars
This is a newly remodeled home and the hosts wish to maintain the quality and integrity of the property by offering a pet-free and smoke-free environment. Minimum age to rent this home is 25.
We welcome families with children of all ages; however, this house is NOT childproof. This is a split-level home with a terraced yard that includes a pool, hot tub, and built-in grill, and other common features/amenities that could be potentially dangerous. Children must be supervised AT ALL TIMES and should NEVER be left unattended (without adult supervision) inside or outside of the home.
This home is equipped with multiple Alexa-Enabled Echo smart speakers that are used to run our home automation system and control various features of the home. Please do not unplug any automation devices, WiFi router, or modem. Doing so may result in advertised features or amenities not working properly.
Oakland Park is located in a subtropical climate in South Florida and certain months of the year can be very hot and humid. It is not uncommon for even the best A/C units to struggle to maintain set temperatures during the hottest parts of the day. There may be times where parts of the home may not cool to your set temperate and unfortunately, that is not within our control. We do not recommend setting the temperature below 70 degrees as doing so can cause the A/C unit to ice over and become inoperable.
You may see or encounter wildlife while in our home or neighborhood. This could include (but may not be limited to) iguanas, birds, mosquitos, ants, and palmetto bugs. Though we do our best to manage the controllable aspects of our property, there are certain elements that are common in our environment that are out of our control. We ask that you embrace the occasional surprises of South Florida living while staying with us.

Why they chose this property
We decided to live part-time in South Florida because it's the closest we can get to South America while still living in the United States. We love Oakland Park because it's so neighborly. Our friends all live nearby so it's easy to get together spontaneously & enjoy each other's company.
What makes this property unique
Our property is a tropical oasis just around the corner from Oakland Park's new downtown scene... You can walk just a few blocks to great restaurants, breweries, the library... and soon, a train station with high-speed trains to Miami or Orlando.
