Grand View, named after my childhood village on the Hudson River, has been the family property for the past 45 years. My parent's home on the property is now available for rent. It is open, airy and well loved. Living areas are an entrance/music gallery , great room for living and dining, TV area and large, well appointed kitchen. Downstairs is a fully ADA compliant bedroom with attached bunk area and bathroom with roll in shower. Upstairs is another bedroom and bunk area with it's own bath. Both downstairs and upstairs have their own decks looking out over the fields. There is also a hide a bed downstairs in a room with glass doors. Ample lawn area provides great play space and the rolling hills are perfect for winter sledding. The property is just 2 miles from Saxtons River with it's wonderful Inn and shops. Down the road 2 miles south is the village of Westminster West with beautiful hiking and skiing trails Putney is just 10 miles away with a number of great restaurants and craft shops as well as a number of farm stands, maple syrup producers and orchards. The bigger towns of Brattleboro and Keene NH are both just 1/2 hr drive. Major downhill ski areas ( Stratton, Mt Snow, Okemo and Ascutney) are also less than an hour away. Accessible but removed from the bustle normally associated with these areas. The property is located on a well loved road biking route and there are many dirt trails nearby. This is a wonderfully quiet spot to relax with family and friends over a good meal on the deck, or to watch the leaves and snow make their mark on the surrounding hills.

We had a very pleasant stay in Vermont. This property was surprisingly close to many of the activities that we were hoping to do (Vermont Country Store, Zip Lining). But, even on a rainy day, we enjoyed spending time in the huge great room, cooking in the well-equipped kitchen, and enjoying music. It was very quiet with a lovely view!
Beautiful serene house and nice location for a countryside experience. Close to Putney, Brattleboro. Very kind host who is quick to answer all your questions. My family had an amazing vacation in this home.
Beautiful property and house (good for reunion or event)
Close to my son, wonderful rural Vermont. Great place to sit and shmooze, cook a meal together, hikes near. He has great binder with local information. A great host
We enjoyed our stay at Grand View. The home sits on a beautiful qnd quiet piece of property that is still located not too far from the local general stores and a few local restaurants. Our favorite part of our stay were breakfasts in the window enclosed living/dining room enjoying the jazz CDs in the stereo. Thank you to Nick for being a responsive and personable host!
Stayed for 4 days over New Years. Beautiful house with an excellent kitchen for cooking with family. Very cozy and homey with a lovely fireplace. Nick is always available for any questions. Bedrooms very comfortable. Rural, peaceful location. Thank you Nick for hosting a wonderful family vacation!
The house is 11 miles to Putney and about 15 miles or so to Brattleboro; 20 minutes to Walpole NH; about 15 minutes to Grafton and a terrific swimming lake--no lifeguard and really clean water. Hiking, swimming, relaxing in this wonderfully air conditioned house on rainy days and for spending the day reading. The kitchen is large and functional and fun to cook in.
Grand sprawling common space / enormous 33 acres backyard w gorgeous view of hills / boy, will your dog be happy / a quirky but great kitchen to work in (Huge!) Pls note: You need to pass thru both upstairs and downstairs bedrooms to get to "bunk" rooms. Our 21yo daughter didnt love that - so we moved her to TV room for more privacy - problem solved!
So enjoyed our week at this location. Beautiful home and convenient location to other destinations. The tranquility was of most importance to us. Couldn't have selected a better site.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was beautiful, grounds were gorgeous, peaceful and verdant. Nick is a wonderful host. He responded immediately to questions and was very accommodating. A+
The property was great and met our needs completely. The owner was attentive and available if needed. This has been our best Vrbo experience, and we highly recommend this property for your consideration.
This is a lovely home situated in the Vermont countryside. It is a bit isolated, but we enjoyed being away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The home itself was in great condition with the air conditioners being very effective. The home also had great kitchen facilities. Many windows added to the beauty of the home. All in all we were extremely happy with this rental.
The house is ten miles west of Putney Center, so renters need to like country roads. The house is lovely. Kitchen has everything renters should need. Decks and large windows gave beautiful access to the fall hills. The owner was very responsive. We loved our stay.
This house was perfect for families! The grounds were ideal for country walks, and the fireplace made fall afternoons cozy and enjoyable. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well equipped, and local market in Putney had everything needed for nice meals at home. A perfect restful retreat!
The host was amazingly responsive and very easy to communicate with. We stayed 6 nights and enjoyed our overall time in this hiding rustic gem. The views were amazing, the home was very spacious. We would return and refers others to stay here.
This properly is well out in the country. Very well kept. Great history with McGruff the Crime Dog! I highly recommend this property for anyone who wants to relax!
