Great place to hunker down

House as described. Small details shared with home owner have been addressed. Kids had a blast walking to island over frozen lake and building the largest snowman I’ve ever seen! Lovely area for some peace and quiet with family!

Great Destination!

We loved this property and the proximity to everything we needed without being on top of it. The location is perfect! The house was very well maintained and the upgrades were awesome!! The kids loved the extra space in the basement to just hangout. I was aware that the lake was being drained but there was enough water to still fish and kayak. The only negative we could come up with, was no one realized how challenging it would be to only have 2 bathrooms for 11 people. Overall it was an awesome stay and I'd recommend this home to anyone looking in the area.

Nice Location!

First and foremost, property owner prior to arrival was among the most responsive i have ever encountered. Great response time. He let us know that they would drain the lake slowly until October (we visited the week of Labor Day Weekend). Sadly when we arrived there was very little water in the lake. This isn't the fault of the owner however if we would have known that it would go from 'slowly' to no water we would have not booked. we made the owner aware (which I suspect he wasn't told of the aggressive draining of the lake plan). The house was nice. For very tall members the basement was very challenging with low ceilings. However, the deck was very nice. Very close to fishing in Pulaski. House was clean and kitchen worked very well for our group. Would recommend this to folks wishing to fish in the nearby river/lake.

Fish Swim Relax to Your Hearts Content

Everything about this rental was top knoch . Couldn’t ask for more . It was so quiet. Maybe not so much with a 7&9 year old . Ha . Kitchen was not lacking in anything we needed. Beds and bedrooms were great . We couldn’t have asked for anything more

Wonderful Stay on the Water!

We loved our time at the lake house! We had a little issue getting the dryer started and we got quick assistance from the hosts! The kids absolutely LOVED the floating dock, the boats and the little island nearby which they played on almost every day! It was a wonderful time for all 12 of us! Everything was just what we needed to escape our own realities for a week!! Thank you so much!!

Love this family vacation home on the lake!

It is always nice to go back to such a beautiful home on the lake. Really like the remodeling that has been done since last year! My family is already looking forward to our 2023 vacation there!!

Everything you need to relax near the water.

This is a lovely, family friendly house! You can tell the owners really cherish the space. It is perfect for a family getaway. Lots of room. Everything you need to enjoy the beautiful, relaxing property is provided. Boats, floats, fire pit. We had a really great time and would absolutely go back! Thank you for sharing such a lovely place with us!

Wonderfully Peaceful!

If you’re looking for a relaxing place to get away, while enjoying fishing, kayaking, and other water activities - this is the place to stay! There were 11 in my travel party and we all comfortably fit for sleeping and sitting down together for meals. The kitchen had everything we needed for meal prep. There was parking to accommodate six vehicles. Definitely recommend.

Large groups

This house is great for a large group. Open areas living, dining and kitchen that opens up on to a large deck so everyone can be together. Plenty of bedrooms. Highly recommend place to stay with great views of the lake.

Need for some improvement

From August 29 – September 4, 2021 we stayed at the Lorton Lake house located at ----------------------------------------. Our stay in this lake house was fairly good except for some issues that we have encountered during our stay that caused inconvenience and decreased comfort for all of us. I would like to enumerate these issues to make sure that it is addressed fro those future renters to make their stay better. These Issues Are: 1) The bathroom on the main floor has a broken shower fixture. It is extremely hard to control the temperature, either it’s extremely cold or extremely hot. It is a scalding hazard specially for children. 2) There is no exhaust or circulation on the basement bathroom. 3) There is a Funky and Balmy smell in the basement specially where the 2 rooms are by the laundry area. 4) Inadequate temperature control. Most of the rooms does not have air conditioning units to address the summer heat. 5) Most household fixtures are not well maintained. Prone to breakage and damage which maybe charged against the renter. 6) Insufficient garbage collection. When we got there the garbage bin was full leaving us with no space to put our garage for the week. It is important to put these issues and concerns out there to make sure that these issues are resolved for future occupants.

Wonderful vacation

This property was all we could have hoped it would be. Good communication with the owner, plenty of space, everything we could need and more, multiple activities for all ages. The view was absolutely breathtaking. Plenty of privacy for the property as well as individually. Fishing, boating, yard games, indoor activities: Thank you so much and we hope to stay again on our next vacation.

We May Return Next Year

Our family of seven adults spent four nights on Lorton Lake. We all had such a wonderful time that we have already discussed the possibility of returning next year. The lake is very pretty and because there are no motorboats allowed on the lake, it was perfect for kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, and swimming. We played outdoor games and enjoyed fishing from the dock. The house was spacious and equipped with everything we needed: several bedrooms to choose from, kitchen tools and supplies, and towels. We used the outdoor grill and ate several meals on the deck. Unfortunately, it rained for two days, and we had to stay indoors. Regardless, we watched a couple of DVDs which were provided, and enjoyed indoor games and reading. Thank you, Lynn, for your quick response to our various questions. We have been having a summer adventure like this for the past several years, and this is the first time we’ve considered returning to a property.

Amazing Destination

Beautiful

We had a wonderful stay at Lorton Lake! The house was beautiful with plenty of space. The adults and kids enjoyed all of the boats and fishing from the dock. We made smores over the fire pit. The view was amazing, the neighborhood was fairly quiet and peaceful. There is a small community park that our youngest kids enjoyed. Our only major complaint was the goose poop. My husband spent about an hour picking it up before we were able to enjoy the yard. Overall we had a lovely vacation!

Fun for all ages.

Great house and location. Plenty of room for multiple families with children of various ages. Everyone enjoyed the lake and outdoor space, from just relaxing on the beach, to swimming and jumping off the swim platform, and fishing right off the dock. Also plenty of yard space for other activities and a great fire pit with lots of wood provided. Lynn was very responsive and great to work with throughout the booking process and during our stay as well.

Beautiful lake house

We had a great stay! We enjoyed the kayaks, canoes, and paddle board as well as yard games and the sandy beach on the lake. The water was calm and it was great for all of my kids and nephew (age 1, 2, 5, 8) to play and swim. The kitchen was a great size and their were plenty of beds for all of us. My only issues was safety for the kids on the stairs outside on the deck and inside leading to the downstairs. Their were no secure rails, just ropes which were more for decor than functionality. It was an awesome house in a great location! Would stay again! Andrea

Great home away from home!

Clean! Very comfortable for large group. It had everything we needed. Snowmobile trail is about 3 miles; no longer across the lake. We would go back again.

Rehabilitated this property from scratch. Best spot on the lake. Love the lakefront and private sandy beach. Wanted something to accommodate a large family and many friends.
