Cozy Farmhouse in the White Mountains

You will enjoy this house in any season. Situated on a 6 acre lot surrounded by woods and mountain views, this 1800s era farm house makes for a nice, relaxing getaway. It is located in the stunning Mill Brook Valley on the backside of 4,000 foot Mt. Tecumseh and Waterville Valley Ski Area. Walk, hike, ski and snowshoe right from the house to trails around a pristine mountain valley and then relax by the wood stove. Open meadows are kept mowed by owners association. In summer, a small pond is available for swimming. For bigger adventures, it is 20 minutes to Waterville Valley Ski Area, 30 minutes to Loon Mountain and 40 minutes to the breathtaking Franconia Notch, Cannon Mountain and the Mt Washington area beyond.

Authentic farmhouse deep in the Whites

This is a real deal old farmhouse - with all its charms and quirks. Sloping floors, wonky internet, cozy wood stove, delightful ski memorabilia everywhere.

Unplug and relax

Worked great for our family of 4 with two under 4, and a dog. Quiet dirt road not too far from the highway. Kids loved the playroom. Cell service was pretty poor indoors, but in the front yard worked well. Wifi was also very slow, but its a good place to unplug and relax!

Cozy and peaceful vacation!

Our family had such a wonderful time on vacation! The house is cozy and the area is quiet and beautiful. Our kids love exploring the neighborhood and playing every board game in the house! We did a few nearby hikes and enjoyed the incredible mountain views at the top. We could not have been happier with our stay or more relaxed from a week in the woods enjoying NH beauty. Wonderful getaway with kids

This is our second time renting this property and we will be back next year. This lovely old farmhouse is quintessential New Hampshire and a great place to take kids - there are plenty of comfortable beds, a playroom, and access to a wonderful pond and waterfall. The host could not be more welcoming and getting into and closing up the house was easy.

Best vacation house!

I stayed in this delightful house with my husband and two children (ages 2 and 5) and it could not have been more perfect for us. There were many options for sleeping, including twin beds, bunk beds, and queen beds. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the kids adored the playroom in the attic. The meadows and pond nearby were great for little kids. This is a thoughtful and comfortable home just right for a quiet week away. We loved it here and cannot wait to go back!

The farm house is located in a quiet but welcoming neighborhood. We had a great time hiking, visiting tourist attractions and playing golf. The area around Thornton offers great year round activities. We found the owner to be very responsive and helpful.

Great Ski House

My wife and two, teenage kids enjoyed a February ski vacation based out of this classic Thornton, NH house. The house has a large, eat-in kitchen, a large master bedroom downstairs plus two additional bedrooms downstairs - plus a small "bunk room" no the first floor. The house is a 30 minute drive (on snowy roads) to Waterville Valley downhill and nordic ski areas. The owner provided valuable details on local walks to the pretty meadow areas down the road. Even our sofa loving dog had a good time!

We are a Boston-based family that fell in love with the great access to hiking and remote beauty of the southern White Mountains and purchased this charming old farmhouse in the 1970s. The house retains much of its old fashioned charm, including exposed beams and layout and its setting in the deep woods and hilly terrain of Mill Brook Valley. This house has been a part of many family adventures, in all seasons, and has been used by 3 generations for skiing, sledding, hiking, swimming and exploring.
