Penthouse (double height) Squaw Village 3-bedroom

Ski-in ski-out, sunny penthouse condominium with double vaulted ceilings at main building in the Village at Squaw Valley. Center of village, right near gondola and all main lifts, including KT-22.

3-bedroom, 3 -bathroom, with sleeper sofa comes fully furnished, including use of the gym, pool, hot tub, sauna, etc. Washer/dryer in unit for your convenience.
Indoor parking for one vehicle. Business center also in building.
Unit has a ski locker in the lobby. The electronic key you receive for the unit will also allow access to locker room and amenities, e.g. jacuzzi, gym, sauna, etc. Ski locker comes with combination lock once reservation is made we will give combination.

Heat: Central heat and space heaters are provided.

A/C: Please note the unit is equipped with an air conditioner in the master bedroom, however, none of the buildings in the Village were built with air conditioning. The Village is at approximately 6000 feet above sea level and most summer nights are quite cool, well below 60 degrees.

Parking: Indoor parking spot within building included.

Great location; poor upkeep

We booked this 3 bedroom penthouse condo for a long ski weekend with family. We appreciated the great views and spaciousness of the condo. We were vey disappointed by the condition of the unit, especially for the amount of money we paid. When we first arrived, the front double door to the unit was ajar and not working properly. Once we did a sweep of the condo to make sure no one was in it, we checked out the other areas only to find the door to the porch open and did not close fully or lock properly; and the door frame was cracked and the shutters for one of the porch doors was missing and the valance had broken off and was on the ground. We then found a lamp with no working light bulb and one of the overhead lights in the master bath not working properly. The unit was not well stocked for example no extra pillows and no first-day coffee. We were disappointed by the minimal communication from our host we presented him with these concerns. When we did go to the front desk for assistance, we had a tough time getting help because we were a “VRBO” guest - we felt we were treated less favorably because we were a VRBO guest. We would not rent this property again.

Spring Skiing

Booked this place on short notice. Owner supplied timely, helpful information. We thought it was nicer than the pictures. The "penthouse" double height volume made the living spaces nicer than the photos could show. Look forward to staying here again.

Terrible condition

Living/dining room:1. the blinds are severely broken. 2. Also: the weather stripping is missing from the doors so cold air enters freely. Kitchen: 1. The dishes in the cupboards set for our use were all dirty. 2. The dishwasher doesn’t work properly 3. There were only used, dirty sponges under the the kitchen sinkBathrooms: A. One shower has mold all over the walls. The smell of mold permeates the room. B. One bathroom had dirty towels hung up for use. C. One bathroom has a broken shower door. The door will not close. The handle is “secured” on the door with a piece of rubber stripping torn off from the seal. D. The dispensers in the showers for soap, conditioner and body wash were empty. Bedrooms: the pillows and bedding provided are old/ beyond their life cycle

Great location, fit the description!

The rental was larger than we anticipated! Great set-up, we all had a great time! Some things were a little funky, but nothing too crazy! It was a little stressful checking out, I was worried that we'd inevitably get dinged for something. Overall, very happy staying here and we'd definitely come back!

“Work” week in the mountains

Wonderful summer home base for hiking, biking and golf. We even got some live music on BluesTuesday! Great unit for a workation!

Little to be desired

Considering the cost of this rental, it would seem that the rental would not have broken blinds (one that stabbed a person in our group when it fell), use a cloth tie to close the patio doors (during a high wind period in Tahoe) and have a better heating system. There is a electric plug in the middle of the walkway, that, had the furniture been appropriate, would have been covered by a couch. The property was located in a good spot, but other than that, it was a run-down condo that could use an update. The check-in process was horrible. The instructions were incorrect, and when we followed the instructions, we were told they have no information on us and that is not how you "check-in" on a VRBO property. We tried to contact the host (numerous times), VRBO tried to contact the host on our behalf, and the host never communicated with us or VRBO-the host never contacted us through the whole trip to even confirm that we did actually figure out how to get into the property. Luckily a bell hop who worked for the hotel portion of the building, knew someone in our group and went out of his way to locate the owner to find out the check-in instructions. Basically, our trip started off bad, spending time trying to determine if we even had a rental or if we needed to make other arrangements. If you stay here, expect no assistance, no communication, and a no-frills condo (for 5 star costs).

everything was good except for a few issues, swamp cooler did not pump cool air, several light bulbs burnt out or shorting and ice marker not working. central location and property size perfect.

FABULOUS!!

This property was so much more than expected. So roomy and just beautiful! Was there for a family wedding and this rental was the envy of everyone else. Hope to book again in the future.
