Fort George Island Private Treehouse Centrally located and Elevated!


(Accesible by car) (vrbo uses AI labeling for photo captions and can be incorrect) Our property is located on one of the many islands located within the Timucuan Ecological Preserve and has been branded as the North Florida Keys. The Hideaway was just recently remodeled with modern taste and simple design to ensure that our guests feel comfortable in every aspect of their stay. All renovations were also completed using environmentally friendly and repurposed materials where possible, while maintaining quality craftsmanship. The space has one bedroom, kitchen, and living room as well as a bathroom. The house also sits on a large lot so our guests can bring their boats or pwc’s to enjoy the local waters. It is a private space, provides private parking, a partially fenced yard and lots of wildlife!

Boating:
There are over 10 boat ramps within 4 miles (the closest is public and located about.3 miles from the property) and many more just outside that radius to provide the perfect location to explore the area or take part in any local fishing tournaments. If you wish to rent a boat there is a marina located a half a mile down the road that offers boat rentals and fuel.
Fishing:
There are half a dozen bait shops within 4 miles that offer live bait and frozen bait. They also offer all gear and tackle needed for your trip
Food:
While there are locations all throughout Jacksonville we can recommend, there are three seafood restaurants located on the water all within 4 miles that are highly rated. Each is very different from the next and offer beautiful views for dinner. For those who would prefer to eat home, you can stop by one of our local shrimpers where you can buy fresh shrimp directly off the boat to take home and cook!
State and Local Parks:
There are dozens of state parks located within the Timucuan Ecological Preserve that offer birding, bike trails, hiking trails, Segway tours, kayak rentals, automobile friendly beaches, pedestrian traffic beaches, beachside pavilions and much more!

Peaceful retreat

We had a great stay in the treehouse! It is set back a little off the main road so we didn’t hear much traffic. It was only about a 10 minute drive to one of our favorite beaches and a decent selection of places to eat nearby. The house itself was very clean and comfortable. We spent a good amount of time on the deck relaxing but didn’t make it down to the lower deck much. Our host stayed in communication with us and checked to make sure we were good and to see if we needed anything. Keep in mind though that it is a treehouse, so there are plenty of stairs inside and out so be ready for a bit of exercise!

Great for me and my young son

My 10 year old son and I stayed here. We had a great time. It's a little rough: the A/C is loud, the bed is college dorm squeaky, and the furnishings are basic. But, it was unbelievably magical for my ten year old son. Not a romantic spot, but perfect for you and the boys who want a tree growing up through the porch, cool views of the inlet as you drive in, and easy access to amazing state parks.Kerry is a laid-back, awesome host.

The property was great, very clean, loved the hammocks and outside couch swing and host was very responsive and easy to get along with, would definitely go back and recommend to anyone trying to get away in Jacksonville.

I Love The Treehouse!

It’s a very sweet and simple stay. Everything is about a 15 minute drive away, some things are more. BUT you have some great little restaurants out that way, and the preserve is worth checking out. Lots of fishing opportunities! It’s cozy and comfy if you want to just relax at the tree house. Just needs a bigger coffee pot for more drinking coffee on the lovely porch or swings!

Great Getaway

The treehouse property was perfect for our week in Jacksonville. It was conveniently located to several state parks, beaches, the zoo, and great eating places. The host was super helpful with any questions we had, and the property was clean and had a nice comfy feeling with all the amenities we needed for the week.

Loved It

This was actually the perfect place for us given our plans during our stay. Circular entry / exit and plenty of room to park our truck and boat. Minimally furnished and simply decorated. Comfortable and cozy. This place is 5 minutes from a bait & tackle shop, 5 minutes to the Palms restaurant & 5 minutes to the public boat ramp. The bed was soft and comfortable. My only suggestion to the host would be to add a colander in the kitchen. We tried to make spaghetti our first evening there but didn't have a strainer. I wish we could find a place like this every time to go on vacation. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Very cool house

Loved this house and location. Very easy to get to anything and had a cool excluded feel to house. The bed is extremely comfortable and the house stays very cool. Downstairs is a cool living room set up with pullout couch and tv. My kids loved it and we can't wait to come back. Great value for the money. Hosts were very responsive and answered every question. Good fishing spots are close by and so is a great bait shop. Also very close to a couple very nice state parks with nice beaches

Only thing I can recommend is to spray more often. Found a few dead cockroaches. Maybe more hooks for towels. Mattress very comfortable. AC a bit loud. Lovely area. Great location. Would stay again.

Conveinant short stay.

We had two days before we caught a flight out of Jacksonville airport. It was super close to the airport and very convenient for us. It was a good medium ground between the airport and the beaches. We love the rockers on the porch; it was very peaceful. We would stay again.

Quality time together

First and foremost, this is a tree house. It is built in a cluster of trees and walking upstairs is a necessity. With that said, this was an experience i will never forget. All the comforts of home, nice little kitchen, living room, bathroom all on the first floor. Second floor has a good sized bedroom with a comfortable bed. House was very clean and the owners were in constant communication to ensure we had everything we needed for our stay. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay nortg of the Jacksonville area.

We actually left the tree house shortly after our arrival and rented a hotel elsewhere. Two LOUD HAC inside treehouse, in in BR and another in LR. BR on 2nd story, Bath on 1st story. Extremely soft bed. TV not working. Dark inside. Host seemed nice in emails.

Fun private treehouse

This was our second time staying here and we loved it even more than the first time. The bed swing they built outside is one of the best things they could have done. The view is nice, it’s quiet and has all of the necessities. One of the easiest check ins I have encountered and easy communication with the host. Love this place and will be staying here again in the future.
