Fantastic Family Vacation!

We had 10 Adults and 4 toddlers that stayed for a week. We also had friends that stayed in another one of the houses on the property. Everything was perfect! Having 7 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms all on 1 level was amazing!! We had plenty of room to spread out even with such a large group. The screened in porch and huge deck out front were great to accommodate our group. Beds were comfortable, kitchen extremely well stocked, and everything in working order. It was very clean!! The beach area and dock were perfect for our family - especially the kids! We also rented kayaks that were really fun. The lake is bigger than we expected and just a very peaceful setting. They were meticulously about making sure the beach areas were free of moss and weeds and even scooped goose poop from our yard every morning!! We also very much enjoyed the Craft Brewery right next door (walking distance). Pullman had a nice little grocery store that had what we needed. We were also close to Blueberry/Cherry picking that we took advantage of. We also spent time in both South Haven and Saugatuck - very quick drives. This was a GREAT experience- 5 Stars!!!

Family New Years Celebration

I bookes this property to host my entire family for New Years Eve as a special Christmas gift. We had 65 to 6 years old and had an excellent time! The property had great views across the Lake. Love the amount of bedrooms and bathrooms for the many families. Would definitely recommend.

Family Christmas

We had a wonderful time with our extended family for Christmas. We always look for a house that has enough bedrooms and bathrooms, and this one fit that description! The owner and property manager responded quickly to our questions and addressed our needs promptly. The house was clean and was just like the description. Thank you!

Sibling Reunion

The home was a great fit for our sibling reunion, eight adults ! More than enough bedrooms and bathrooms. Perfect setting, great open floor plan for getting together, dining table for all to sit and dine together. Great lake front and fire pit were enjoyed by all. House was immaculate and fitted with all the necessary kitchen items for cooking and eating!! It was all in all a perfect home, I would stay again for sure!

Camp Gast 2023

This was a gathering of Vietnam/Vietnam era veterans. Eagles Nest accommodated us easily as everyone had their own bed, it was one level and there was a sufficient number of bathrooms. The large living/dining area and the front game room provided wonderful indoor seating areas for conversation. The fire pit was great for evening relaxation and conversation. Because this group came from various parts of the country (e.g., Texas, Maryland, West VA), the location had sufficient parking for those we drove and those who flew and had rental cars. Eagles Nest was as good as advertised, clean, sufficient bedding, towels, etc. We do recommend night lights for all the bedrooms AND explanation of how to divert water for showers as one of the bathrooms did provide a bit of a challenge in figuring out the diverter. These are "mini" issues as we hope we are welcomed back as my group was talking or renting this again next year.

Wonderful family vacation

Our whole family stayed together for a week at Eagles Nest and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The house was very clean and worked perfectly for our family Each family had its own room and bathroom, the game room was great for "at home" entertainment and the kitchen, dining area, and family room were perfect for meals and visiting. The screen porch, back yard, beach area, dock, and canoe were great for a variety of activities. The home is close to Lake Michigan, local town attractions, and yet secluded and relaxing. Our whole family loved the location and would highly recommend it. When a small problem occurred, the manager was quick to respond to correct the issue.

Plenty of room for everybody to spread out, have a good time. Kitchen has everything you need. Everything is super clean.

New Year’s Eve

Was easy to rent. When I had questions the owner got right back to me. She was very good. The cleanliness of the house was not very good. There were cobwebs on the bottom of two of the couches. There were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling in the kitchen. The air ducts were covered in dust. Light bulbs were out in some of the fixtures. Switch was broken and missing on the lamp. Baseboards were thick with dust. The beds that had cloth headboards were caked with dust. The flor was not clean, my granddaughter crawled across it and her pajamas were black. Envelope left asking for a tip for the housekeeping staf. Never stayed any place that asked me to tip housekeeping. After all I did pay a substantial cleaning fee. Would not rent again.

Eagles Nest - Scott Lake

The property was spacious and large enough to hold 12 family members. Boys loved the bunk room and little girls the twin bed room. The lawn was quite soggy most of the time, and the sprinkler system that ran for awhile every night was part of this issue. The house itself was very live acoustically speaking and when the kids got to all talking it was an echo chamber. I hope they will install blinds on the large windows by the sliding door, as the late afternoon sun was blinding in that room and blinds would calm down the echo a lot. Over all good times and the lake is perfect for younger kids. It is shallow for a long way out and our older kids enjoyed canoeing and fishing.

Great Family Getaway

My family had a great time at this house- we had so much space to accommodate all 15 of us. We especially enjoyed the multiple tables so that we were able to eat together and also used them for playing games. We spent a lot of time on our beach and dock and in the water with the rented kayaks and paddle boards. Such a peaceful setting! Communication with the owner and property manager was great! The location is a little remote but just a short drive to South Haven and Saugatuck which we also enjoyed!

4th of July Family Vacation for 15 people

It has been 6 years since our whole family has been together so having this time together was a blessing. We enjoyed everyone having their own bed, the 4 bathrooms, game room, screened in porch, large kitchen table, washer/dryer and we’ll stocked kitchen. Having everything on one floor and the flat backyard leading to the lake was extremely helpful for some of our family members. The large backyard allowed for bag tournaments, playing football and volleyball. We loved sitting around the fire pit, grilling out and fishing off the dock. We used the canoe several times while paddling around the small, peaceful lake. We explored the the area and spent some time in Holland and South Haven (both within 45 mins). Some things we would like to note include the following; the strict rules are understood however kind of a turnoff for our family. We have rented several properties through VRBO and the rules for this property almost scared us away. We understand as owners you want to keep everything in good shape and of course we respect that but in our optic was a bit much. There’s a significant temperature discrepancy from the front to back of the home so some bedrooms were chilly while others were warm. The ceiling fan not working above the main dining room table was disappointing since that area was quite warm and the area we spent much of our time in. We realize it’s nature but the daily goose poop was also a turn off. One of our family members in addition to the workers also cleaned up every day. Lastly the price seems extreme for the location. Once again we had a wonderful time and the house definitely met all of our needs but it’s almost double the price we’ve paid for larger properties on the water in similar areas. The price alone would probably deter us from renting in the future. We are thankful for our time together and the home is in very nice condition. Thank you very much. Families from MI, IL, GA and VA.

Friend's Trip at a Lake house in Pullman Michigan

We had an excellent time on our recent trip and this was in large part due to the excellent accommodations of this home. First of all Elizabeth was incredibly responsive and helpful leading up to the trip. She answered all our questions quickly and was extremely helpful! Second, the house was clean, the appliances were all in excellent condition and the space overall fit our group quite well. Daily there were workers cleaning up the backyard and beach. We spent a lot of time in the chairs by the beach and by the fire pit and this was lovely. We had brought a few pack-and-plays for smaller babies and fitting these into the rooms was a bit tight but doable. Would definitely stay again!

Spacious and Moldy

When I first arrived on Wednesday, the entire house smelled moldy. There is visible black mold in at least two of the four bathrooms. There are areas with visible water damage which smells moldy. I suspect there is mold behind the surface of those water damaged walls. I wanted to cancel immediately after smelling the mold. There were 5 people in their 80's and 2 people in there mid to late 60's that were already in route to join me. If I were traveling alone, I would have cancelled this trip on site after smelling then seeing the mold. My niece, my mom and myself all have asthma. My unlcle sneezed and had watery eyes. My father had allergy systems. My niece used her inhalers often. Some of my group coughed throughout the trip. I have an asthma flare-up brought on from the mold in this house. I had to use my inhaler excessively. I am still coughing and struggling with my breathing. I

Perfect weekend stay

First time VRBO for us and friends. 4 adults, 6 kids 10-17 yrs. Stayed in February for a weekend trip to Bittersweet (20 min) Kids were entertained with the game room and there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out, eat, & sleep. The house was well appointed as we did use the kitchen for 2 breakfasts and a dinner. Every room was super clean (my #1 thing I look at no matter where we go or stay). The actual town was small and unimpressive but we weren’t there for that reason. We drove to Allegan for dinner. We would definitely recommend this rental to anyone needing something in the area. I’m sure the summer would be nice as well with the patios, lake and fire pit.

About the host

Hosted by Elizabeth Kosten

Host profile image
I was raised in southwest Michigan, in the Grand Rapids area, and I have always reveled in the natural beauty to be found here in our Great Lakes State. I just love being near the water, so any chance I get to be near a lake is a perfect opportunity for me to relax and unwind. I hope you get to know our beautiful state when you stay with us, because to know it is to love it!

Why they chose this property

I was immediately drawn by the natural beauty of the lake and its environs — not to mention the extensive outdoor activities and peaceful surroundings. Since then, I have made it a priority to spend as many summer weekends in the area as I can.

What makes this property unique

This home was conceived and built specifically to cater to large groups and families who want to escape the mad rush of daily life and spend time growing closer to one another while experiencing all the tranquility and enjoyment that "life on the lake" has to offer. We have worked to provide a balance of comfort, functionality, charm, unity, and fun throughout our home and grounds. We even designed our outdoor spaces to provide maximum opportunities for gathering together to enjoy good meals and good conversation. We sincerely hope that the breathtaking lake views from the great room and lake-facing deck will inspire and astound you as much as they do us. We love creating welcoming spaces that draw you in with their charmingly decorated rooms designed with great care, and our greatest desire is to see you return year after year so you can continually create memorable moments with those you love.
