Why they chose this property
I believe you will absolutely adore the Downtown Venture apartment. The building was built circa 1878, and was host to various businesses to include hair salon, cobbler, and from 1960s to 2009 a pharmacy and soda fountain with various owners. It has been vacant since 2009 and we bought it in November 2016. The goal was to save the 140-year old building on Main Street. The second floor was a damaged and an abandoned storeroom. The building was gutted and slowly brought back to life with love and respect. The Gathering Place: Family Resource and Genealogy shop is on the first floor and two one bedroom apartments are upstairs. The entire county is appreciative of our extensive restoration efforts, and we are proud to offer one of the upstairs apartment to you. Please enjoy and relax here while you visit all southern Illinois has to offer. Thank you for choosing Downtown Venture!
