The view from the deck was amazing. The cabin was perfect. We definitely want to visit again. We also thought it was neat that they provided the means to separate trash, recycling, and compost during our stay.
Spent four nights here to celebrate our 15 year anniversary. The cabin was perfect! The view from the deck is stunning. We enjoyed the hot tub, sitting out on the deck, eating in nearby Spruce Pine, and hiking off of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Pinewoods Cabin. The view was spectacular and the cabin had everything we needed to relax. Rick was easy to communicate with and available if anything came up. We loved the proximity of Little Switzerland and the Blueridge Parkway.
Our stay was AMAZING. The location was PERFECT for getting away from the "noise" and stress of everyday life. The owner was helpful and made us feel at home. Beautiful back porch has the perfect view of the mountains. The house was neat and we had everything we needed. You will not regret staying here.
My boyfriend and I celebrated my 29th birthday in Little Switzerland. I booked this cabin because of the view from the photos and it looked like a nice place to stay. Trust me neither disappointed, especially that view!
Gorgeous views from the deck of this property! We enjoyed being tucked in to the side of the mountain on a dead end road! The house had everything we needed and offered spectacular views both day and night! Rick was an excellent host and communicator. We really enjoyed the hot tub after hiking and exploring the area! We would definitely return!
Amazing views! Very quiet and isolated. Rick was a perfect host. We stayed during the coldest time. We would definitely stay again. I saw more stars then I ever experienced!

Wonderful, relaxing experience!
The cabin was very secluded and the view was breath-taking. The cabin had everything we needed to stay put while enjoying evenings of cooking, soaking in the hot tub and relaxing in front of the fireplace. Rick was an amazing host, visiting to see if we needed anything, telling us about the area, and overall ensuring our stay was perfect! We will definitely be back!
Had a wonderful time in the mountains. Unbelievable views from the rear deck. Cabin was all it was advertised to be and more. Rick was very helpful with our stay. Would HIGHLY recommend this cabin to anyone wanting to get away from the hustle of daily life. My wife and I hope to come back in the future.
The cabin was exactly what we wanted for a private weekend getaway. Mountainside sunset views, private, calm and beautiful landscapes. The cabin was cozy and updated. We enjoyed the jacuzzi and individually heated bathrooms. Rick was a great host, easy to communicate with. We will be back.
The owner was helpful and has a nice cabin for a getaway vacation. My only complaints are that there were no light-blocking window treatments in the bedroom and that the road was rough and scary.
My husband and I traveled here on our anniversary and this cabin was perfect! Very private with a great view! We absolutely love Little Switzerland and will keep this place on our list!! It was just as described ~ very clean and definitely comfortable!! Also centrally located to all we planned to do!! The only advice I have for the owners is to get better lighting in at least one of the bathrooms ~ while it’s awesome mood lighting it’s hard to see to get ready (especially for the ladies). I carried a lighted mirror with me so I managed! Thanks for a great vacation!!♥️
My husband and I had a lovely stay in Little Switzerland. It was great meeting the owner Rick at the post office because it would have been kinda tricky to find the house without an escort.
The view and peaceful setting were spectacular. House is super clean and perfect for a couple. There were tons of nice fluffy towels and washcloths. I always hate it when there aren’t ample washcloths! The hot tub is very clean and we enjoyed it on our last night.
For your planning purposes: I did not find coffee but there is a coffee pot. Walmart is about 5 miles away but it takes longer to get there than you would expect. I would bring snacks to enjoy with the bottle of wine Rick greets you with. I would also bring my own pillow as I prefer 2 and a cozy blanket for hanging out on the porch enjoying the sunrise and sunset.
Highly recommend this property!

Great private mountain getaway!
My wife and I stayed 5 nights at the Pinewoods cabin. We liked the cabin a lot and had a great time in the area. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. It's in a very private location with a great mountain view from the rear deck. We hiked to scenic waterfalls in the day and made use of the hot tub, the charcoal grill and the full kitchen in the evening. There are a few decent restaurants nearby and 2 grocery stores about 5 miles away where you can stock up on whatever you might need. Rick was a great host. He communicated with us promptly and gave us tips about the area. We had a great getaway and would certainly recommend this cabin to anyone looking to stay in the area.
I cannot express my review in a 100 words or less. I do want to say this was the perfect getaway!
Rick, met us and guided us to a perfect cabin getaway. The view from the back deck is breath taking. Sitting in the hot tub looking at the stars and seeing the mountains in the distance put one at ease. The interior has a charming feel. Enjoyed each evening with a fire with real fire place. If you want wood it is well worth asking Rick instead of packing in your own. The kitchen is very well equipped. If you need a break from everything this is the place you've been looking for. Thanks again. :)

Awesome View!
We stayed here for the couples getaway and we didn't leave the cabin because the view was so beautiful. The house is equipped with everything you need. Rick is very responsive and accommodating. He even got us a deal we couldn't refuse and extended our stay one day. You will have access to two bathrooms and master bedroom in the house (two other bedrooms are locked) as well as the living space (living room, kitchen, dining).
The house is very secluded so it is nice and quiet all around. The only sounds you hear is an occasional squirrel roaming around.

Beautiful views
The house was nice and the views were beautiful. We enjoyed the hot tub and there was plenty of towels and wash cloths. It was a very positive experience. We had to meet the person at the local post office and follow them to the house. Not a big deal but we first were not going to be arriving until late the first night and felt odd about having to do this so we took off earlier than planned. That being said, when we plan weekend get aways we want to be able to stop and go as we please. It may not have been a big deal for them to meet us late but I personally like being able to just receive a key or key code and arrive when we want.
We needed a last minute getaway to soak up some WNC mountain medicine and this beautiful, hand-built and custom design cabin was absolutely perfect!
It is "conveniently" secluded and offers a jaw-dropping view of several mountain range peaks from any room in the spacious and well-appointed cabin and deck (I was able to work from my laptop at the dining room table and still see the gorgeous view!). You cannot see a single other building from here, and only a small portion of road way across the valley on another ridge.
Cooking was a delight in the clean, well-stocked kitchen, and everything was sparkling upon our arrival. The fresh-picked lily waiting for us at check-in was a super sweet touch, and the small library proved to be an impressive feature.
Although we didn't venture back out once we settled in, the cabin is in a pretty central location to go sightseeing and visit some of WNC's best area attractions. Our favorite part was that we didn't even want to go back out once we were here. The only traffic we heard was from the blue ridge parkway (occasional, and daytime only), so we were able to hear the birds, bugs and critters the whole time!
Rick was an amazing host, and communication with him was excellent from booking to traveling home. The listing description is very accurate, and made for a pleasant, no-unwelcome-surprises, experience. We absolutely plan to return for future stays, and highly recommend this cabin as a serene, romantic, comfortable, Perfect Mountain Getaway.
Many Thanks, Rick!!!
