Booked this cabin in the woods to get out of town for the weekend. Directions were spot on and had no trouble finding the location. While loading into the Cabin Dan introduced himself and we had a nice chat. Made sure we were comfortable and gave us privacy the rest of the weekend. He did offer us access to the lake and even use of the kayaks if we wanted. Kids loved all the bear stuffed animals throughout the cabin. Castle rock was cute and the river front trail is great for bike riding/walking with the kids. Headed to Longview as well and visited some great parks and playgrounds. Excited to head again when spirit lake hwy opens up again to Johnston Ridge observatory.
We had a nice stay at the cabin in the woods. It was perfect for what we were looking for and close to our family. It is a little dated and could use a good dusting. The cabin had the essential needs and we loved the fireplace, especially that the firewood was provided.
My husband and I were happy to of found this cute cozy cabin. Its unique charm made us feel like a home away from home. Comfortable bed, nice warm fireplace and all the amenities we needed. We brought games and watched Christmas movies. The hosts were very friendly and responded quickly to any questions we had. We will definitely be back to this cozy place
The cabin was cozy. Nights spent playing board games and reading while the fire is going. The cabin is a little cool, but there are plenty of heaters and the fireplace to warm it up. The porch is comfortable and looks towards the lake. The host was friendly, checking in on us.
It seems that over the years we have created a tradition of staying at the Cozy Cabin! The first time we stayed here was, before we were married, around 2009, the second time in 2016, and this last time in 2024 for our 12th wedding anniversary.
In a world where so much changes so rapidly, what a gift to have a place you can return to time and again where very little changes. This cabin has been a place of reflection and connection for me and my now husband of 12 years.
We are thankful to Dan Belding for keeping this place going for all these years. It was as cozy and inviting this time as it was the first time we visited 15 years ago.
If you need a place to stay that is within reasonable distance of city amenities and Mt. St Helens, don't hesitate to treat yourself by booking your stay here. Everything you need to have a warm time is provided; firewood for a rip roaring fire, a fully stocked kitchen, lots of towels, two warm beds, a grill, tv/dvd/games, lots of resources for exploring the area, and access to Kayaks just down the way. The husband and I pitched in and left Oregon Trail the game for those who come after to enjoy C:.
We did miss the VCR this time ;P...but the new and improved hot water tank definitely made up for it haha!
Here's to another 15 years! Long live Cozy Cabin!!!

Cabin was as expected. Was happy the fridge had separate freezer as it was listed as apt size. Quiet and relaxing place with everything you need. Was hoping to swim and utilize kayaks/boats but there was bad algea bloom do we opted to explore Mt St Helen’s area. Not sure if algae blooms are frequent at this lake
It was a wonderful little cabin. Its simplicity is what made it special. It’s close to the lake, but secluded enough to be quiet, private, and comfortable. Host was very friendly and property was clean. I definitely would recommend and will definitely be back myself.
Great place to relax! Quiet and peaceful. Could use a few upgrades like new cushions on the porch chair. Limited comfortable seating inside.
Overall, enjoyed the stay. Cabin had everything we needed. It even provided us with some sanity! 😁
