Pretty cool place, but it is pub central, and fairly noisy, but it is in the heart of it all.

Easy to get to just about everything you would want. Also, a very short walk from the tubes and stations so that you can get anywhere you need to go with ease. There are a LOT of stairs, and the shower is absolutely broken, which are negative downsides. Also, if you plan on opening the bedroom windows, you have to live with the smell of the downstairs dumpling shop and the beer from the alleyway.

Centrally located

Location was central; next to multiple restaurants, bars, theaters, and markets. The apartment was perfect for our needs and in close proximity to the metro. We got used to the 60 steps up. Our 2 teens slept on the pull-out couch; parents stayed on the full size bed. Within a few feet of the main door are a few great restaurants, out door drinking windows, and theaters. Just in case, come prepared with eye masks and ear plugs. We enjoyed our stay.

Perfect Size and Location

The property was fabulous and well maintained. Very close to two Underground stations and in a vibrant area of the city. Yes, it is on the third floor but that wasn't a problem for us. We are a family of four with two adults and two children ages 7 and 8 and had a wonderful time. Property management was very attentive to any concerns we had. I would highly recommend this property!

Superb

Our top priorities (in order) when choosing a rental are: natural light/lots of windows/sky view, top floor (we don’t want anyone above making noise and we don’t mind walking up a lot of stairs), situated near what we are interested in doing, has a local vibe – furnishing and overall sense while being in the space feels like what the locals experience, WiFi. This apartment satisfied all our priorities. We would stay her again when visiting London.

Great location

Amazing location: a stone's throw from Trafalgar Square, the galleries, public transport, theatres and cheaper theatre ticket retailers. Spacious, bright, airy apartment with its own balcony. CONSIDER: Don't overlook that it is up 60+ steps from the street the apartment (and no lift). If you have a lot of heavy luggage or not fit enough for steps, it's not for you. But the bonus is this is the only apartment in the block and is quiet and private even though there is a busy pub downstairs.

Location, Location, Location

My wife and I had a wonderful visit to London and this rental very much added to the enjoyment. It is the perfect size for a couple and you can walk almost anywhere from theaters to museums to lots and lots of restaurants and pubs. Some observations: - kitchen nicely equipped with good appliances. Nice having a washing machine - bathroom very adequate and in excellent condition. Instant hot water heater so there is no running out half way through a shower - bedroom adequate. Good shades and lighting. Bed is a double(not a queen) and is too small. - entranceway needs coat hooks as there is no closet except in the bedroom - lots of stairs as it is on the fourth floor but we didn’t find this an inconvenience. No one else in the building while we were there. - had to have exterminator in twice for a couple of mouse sightings but problem was taken care of promptly which we appreciated. It is an old building in an old town. - apartment was surface cleaned but could use a deep cleaning and the dinning room chair covers were truly filthy. - two sofas, one of which was worthless. It hould be removed for two chairs. Also living room area needs a large coffee table badly. Overall we we would rent again happily, especially if a few of the minor complaints were taken care of.

Location, location, location

4 stars with reservations. Why would you have 4 vacuums 3 in the guest closet just randomly tossed in? The photo shows a fairly nice couch which is still there in a different location but there is a very unacceptable futon , we feel compassion for the couple who has to sleep their. The kitchen is fine, the stairs a challenge for anyone with big bags, we left ours at Gatwick having been warned off by another review. Many homeless under the entrance, a bit disturbing but fine. And we were not put off by the mouse, don't leave crumbs or food out. We were treated so well by the greeters who helped me bring up the bags and once again it's all about the fabulous location. We had a fine 5 days. Thank you.

Excellent Location and Value

The only negative about the flat is the 63 stairs you must walk up to reach it. There are 2 landings so you can take your time getting up them, but it is a chore to get larger bags up and down. Overall our experience was excellent. The space works as a 2 bedroom with the bedroom and living room each having its own door off the central hall. The living room door closes off the kitchen and living room, but does provide privacy to those sleeping and dressing in the living room. The bathroom appears recently updated and the kitchen has a microwave, oven, washer/dryer, fridge and cooktop all in good working order. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware and dishes assuming you're on holiday and making simple meals. The unit was being cleaned when we arrived and the staff was very helpful and friendly. There have been comments about the unit being difficult to find. I can understand some difficulty but the address is clearly marked above the entry door and the image on Google maps is correct and easily recognizable. It's at the end of The Harp pub - an excellent CAMRA recognized pub - and just at the right of an archway which has a heading of 'Institute of Chinese Medicine'. We couldn't have asked for a better location; walking times of 5 minutes or less to Trafalgar square, charing cross BritRail, Leicester Square and several of the West End theaters. 5 to 10 minutes to Covent Garden, a Tesco grocery, and the rest of the West End, and 10 to 20 to Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament. The view from the living room is good. The balcony views aren't but it is a decent space for 2 or 3 people to step out and get some fresh air. It holds a small table and 2 chairs.

Very poor

apt. was not clean. Kitchen was without towels, sponge, dishcloth or pot holders etc. Broken old sofa. Not even chair in bedroom. Dirty junk filled closet for hanging clothes, gray, grim, "used" towels in Bathroom. No face cloths, no amenities for our stay of 2 weeks, no place to place even soap or a razor in tiny shower. Ice cold rooms. bedding too short for bed. "terrace" is an unconnected fire-escape for storing buckets etc. Building is a deserted school. Dishes and furnishing need series cleaning and upgrading. Naked lightbulb in"foyer" is about as cozy as it gets.

Great place to stay for tourisism and nightlife

We (myself 40 year old male and 12 year old daughter) stayed here in early October 2016. The weather in London was perfect this time of year. This property is as described, it was nice with minor defects. It has a queen size bed and two sofas. One of the backs on the sofa folds down to create a futon. We didn't fold down as it was wide enough for my daughter to sleep on. It would be okay for two couples if one didn't mind sleeping on the sofa. The bed is large enough for a couple and the room had a dresser and closet built in. The balcony doesn't have a view of anything but the walls of the buildings around you but is still nice to have. If some minor attention was paid to this property it would help for instance the face of the drawer under the bed was broken off while i was there and several light bulbs didn't work. None of this was a inconvenience. The views from the living room are fantastic to watch the people drinking and walking around below. There is a pub directly next to the door to the apartment that allows patrons to get a drink and take if out side to consume. Be prepared to ask people to make way so you can get in the door. The apartment is on the fourth floor and only a narrow staircase is the way to get there. This isn't terrible but it is a hassles if you have large luggage. Overall the steps are well work it to stay here. It is hard to find! if you look for the harp pub then on the right side of the pub on a 45 degree angle sort of facing an alley opening is the green door to access the stairway. We were lost and arrived about one and a half hours after we scheduled. The staff was very accommodating and once we found it and called they showed up after about 20-30 mins. The kitchen is stocked with essential dishes but no cooking essentials such as salt and pepper, oil etc. We purchased some seasoning and a bottle of olive oil so hopefully its there for the next guest. I highly recommend this place and plan on staying again. Oh and my full deposit was credited back as stated within a week.
