Truly a lovely place to unwind and be in nature without having to rough it too much. If you love to swim and kayak, you cannot get any closer to the beautiful lake. One of our favorite places!

Love the Lake
Rustic and genuine Maine camp met our expectations and enjoyed the fact that the lake itself was private and we had it all to ourselves. The property could have been a little cleaner and the proximity to the road with the trucks zooming past detracted from the peaceful setting .
My partner and I really enjoyed our stay here. We combined hike on nearby trails in the morning with swimming a kayaking in the afternoon. Would definitely stay here again if ever in the area.
We were in need of a vacation after a crazy busy high school year and graduation. We found it. We relaxed and recharged and are ready to take on the first year of college!! Thank you!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house has everything you could want. We parked our boat on the dock and relaxed all weekend. Great communication by the owner.
We enjoyed our stay at this home minus the road traffic. By the time we left we got used to it. Beautiful lake! Watched the Loons every day. Took trip to N.Conway New Hampshire. Found a lobster guy in Bridgeton who steamed up some lobsters for us to take back and eat on our picnic table by the lake.
We had a nice time at this two bedroom cabin on Keywaydin Lake. It was super clean, very nicely furnished and the kitchen was very well equipped. The bedrooms are small but the common areas are pretty roomy. We enjoyed sitting on the dock and swimming (the steps into the water and the raft are great features). We found it difficult to get in and out of kayaks there due to lack of a real beach, so we used the boat launch which is 8/10 mile away. The lake is quiet with very little motor boat use. Though Stoneham is very rural, be aware that Rte 5 passes right in front of the cabin and at times during the day there is car and truck traffic going by. We weren't really bothered by it out back or at night, but it is close. Overall, this older, rustic but well maintained cabin is a great value if you don't mind its proximity to the road, and we really enjoyed our stay.
This property is a real gem. It’s a beautifully maintained classic Maine camp, with everything you need to have a relaxing stay. Well appointed with linens, cookware, pantry items and bug spray, and everything you need to enjoy your trip. We really enjoyed fishing and kayaking, and my son loved jumping off the floating dock into the pristine lake. There aren’t a whole bunch of stores or restaurants nearby, but that’s exactly the way we like it. There was plenty of room for all of us to read, cook, watch TV, sit outside by the fire, or sit on the dock and enjoy the beautiful lake with a glass of wine or cup of coffee. Val is wonderful host and a great communicator - we will definitely be returning to this sweet little cottage.
This was a very nice stay in a classic Maine Lake camp. It was very quaint and pleasant. It had everything you need to cook and enjoy the lake including kayaks and noodles for the kids. The host was very communicative and helpful, and even went out of her way to help us with a last minute conundrum. The beach wasn't sandy or shallow, so you do have to dive off the dock into the unknown to go swimming, but the kids got used to that fast enough and spent most of their days running and jumping off the dock with noodles. The only real drawback was the location: it is directly - like 10 feet - off of Maine Route 5. Our kids are 7 and 8 and they are pretty independent and good swimmers, so I had anticipated the usual scenario where they are fine to play outside mostly unattended for little blocks of time, just keeping an eye on them from the window. However, the way the trucks fly through and the direct proximity to the road, I was concerned for their safety, so that was not possible, making the stay just a bit less relaxed. However, if you do not have young kids, or if you have infants that can't roam, this wouldn't be a concern. I would highly recommend this affordable, pretty camp for families with teens or babies not yet walking, or couples without kids.
Romantic little getaway, just what we needed for the 4th
My girlfriend and I were looking for a romantic getaway for two. This lakefront property was just what we needed. Half of the master bedroom was windows all looking out onto the water. It was beautiful view morning and evening. I felt it was a little bit stuffy inside because there's no air conditioning, but the cottage did have many fans in it and my girlfriend tends to run cold so it all worked out fine. The place was clean, very well equipt. We brought things up that we didn't need because they already had it there. And there was a second bedroom wasted on us because we didn't need it. But if somebody had two younger children they wanted to bring along the second bedroom would accommodate them nicely. However, if you have teenagers, this might not be the correct setup for you, if you are anyway looking to be intimate with your partner. There's only a curtain separating the master bedroom from the kitchen. No real doors to shut. The dock outside was very functional and was great to put our motorboat on. The host of the property was very communicative and very accommodating. She even helped us find a firework display to go to when we could not find one ourselves. Her dad owns the property across the way and the boat ramp which is easy walking distance from the cottage. Her father was very nice and very helpful. The lake the cottage is on is very small so don't expect any exploration but it's very safe because there 's no hazards in the middle, good for tubing. Wonderful rent
This was our second visit to Valerie’s home and it was as beautiful as we remembered. A classic Maine camp with the most amazing view and location. Everything you need for a vacation, well appointed, clean and enough space for everyone to spread out and relax. Spent a lot of time this visit in the kayak, on the deck and swimming in the water to the floating dock. Instant relaxation - thank you!!
This place was perfect. It’s even better than the photos listed here! We already discussed coming again and bringing the kids with us. They would have had even more fun than I did swimming and jumping into the beautiful lake. If there was any *cons* it would be the street out front but honestly, it didn’t take anything away from us having a beautiful trip.
Thank you Val and Kevin for a most relaxing few days on the lake. The view is amazing with mountains in the distance! The lake is excellent for swimming although the drop off is immediate. We enjoyed fishing from our small motor boat and were pleasantly surprised how few boats were on the lake! The camp is so comfortable with a fully stocked kitchen! We chose to eat most meals at camp taking advantage of the grill just outside on the deck. There is a very cozy sitting area around the fire pit also overlooking the lake. Fans are a plenty so sleeping on the warm nights was comfortable. For those who need to be plugged in, the Wi-Fi is great and TV is state of the art with access to for example Netflix. We enjoyed exploring the area a bit even taking a 40 minute jaunt to North Conway. We had a wonderful getaway and look forward to a return visit!
Absolutely stunning! This special cabin has become our favorite family reunion spot each summer after school has ended and all the grades are done. It is the perfect jump start to summer after each year of teaching high school. There is something for everyone regardless of age. So we’ll stocked and lovingly decorated. It is our dream vacation. Thank you so much for sharing your treasure cabin home.
