The view is absolutely beautiful and outside area is very nice. The cabin is older but very clean and comfortable. The one problem we had was not enough hand towels and no washcloths. That was frustrating. I'm hoping
they will fix that issue for the next guest
We loved this cabin - perfectly sized for our family getaway...plenty of room for all of us! Nicely decorated and stocked with everything we needed.
We really enjoyed the quiet lake...kayaking and on the pontoon. Pontoon was a great bonus.
A couple glitches upon check-in due to the previous occupants, but owner was very responsive to our phone call. We would definitely stay here again.
We wanted a proerty that could accommodate 7 women close tonthe Paul Bunyon and Heartland bicycle trails.
Dlthe trail was right out our door!.
We each had our own room.
The property manager was extremely helpful immediately with a
We were looking for a lake home up north with plenty of room for the 6 of us, good fishing off the dock, and a boat to fish the lake. The 2 grandkids wanted to experience the fun of being on a lake and catching some fish. The house was perfect for us and the pontoon boat was easy to drive and fish from. The kids caught a lot of big bass in the 2-3 lb range and one monster over 5. They were thrilled to be able to drive the boat. Everything was set up for easy use. Immediately felt like home. Walker is a fun little town and within walking distance. Shari was an excellent host quickly answering any questions we had.
Our family had a wonderful time at the lake, swimming and playing bags as well as some great shopping in Walker. The Heartland trail was great for some long bike rides.
Perfect to be away and close to necessities at the same time
This place was the bomb. We had a family of five and one five year-old. Everyone had their own private space yet the open floor plan brought us together for fun games and meals. The view of the lake was so relaxing, the house as a whole gave a sense of wellness.
Traveling to town was super easy and quick. The pontoon was so fun to use. This setup would be fantastic for multiple families who need to be close. We will definitely be booking this in the future!
This was an amazing location and a great house. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was just as advertised, the location even better. We would definitely stay there again!
This is a gorgeous home on a clean and quiet lake. The home is spacious yet cozy. There's plenty of outdoor space (big lawn and deck) and then there's the pontoon and May Lake. Our teenage daughters explored the lake on the paddle boat and as a group we hung out on the pontoon boat. We also checked out Akeley's massive thrift store and spent an afternoon at Lake Itasca State Park.
The location (location, location!) is absolutely perfect at this cabin on Lake May. We had 8 adults and 4 kids (2-11). Upon arrival we thought it was paradise! The yard is well maintained with all the amenities. The dock was sturdy and surrounded by fish (kids were busy catching fish non-stop right there!) We were a little worried when we entered the cabin as there was a strong pet urine odor that seemed strongest in the upstairs loft - but it went away for the most part after opening windows and getting air flow (it was a really warm afternoon when we arrived). It was not a problem for us. Kitchen had all the necessities that we needed and what we forgot to bring was easily picked up at the grocery store 5 minutes away.
There are plenty of beds, mostly twin, and we all slept comfortably.
The pontoon was a nice bonus although we didnt use it much - took a trip out and through a narrow channel to a bigger lake with a sandbar which provided more fishing action! There was such good fishing right from the dock though and we'd brought kayaks/paddle boards etc.
Overall, great location and beautiful cabin to enjoy time together. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Our family thoroughly enjoyed 5 days on Lake May in this property. Very spacious, well kept up and comfortable. The large deck overlooking the lake and patio area are perfect for outdoor eating, relaxing and roasting marshmallows. Large pontoon was great for a daily fishing trips.
Shari has been great to work with! This was our 2nd stay in Walker on Lake Mae! Home is well equipped and clean. A quick jaunt to town for supplies and exploring! Will be going back next year.

very fun and relaxing. Was just what we expected. I would recommend that they fence off areas around the porch coming off the back sliding door. We will be looking into booking this spot again for sure.
No fuss. We had a great time, things were clean and accurate. Only discrepancies were likely from previous tenants not replacing empty propane/filling pontoon gas :)
This place was exactly what we were looking for. My husband lost his mother at the beginning of the year and we were trying to come up with something that would make our first Christmas without her a little easier. Being able to stay in a log cabin for Christmas was everything we wanted. The place is wonderful. There were 6 adults and 1 ten year old. We all had our own little space for ourselves. They family room was great for looking outside at the beautiful view and opening presents. We would highly recommend this place to anyone that needs a place to escape to and with two or more families the price and space is better than any hotel. Would reserve this log cabin again. Thank you to the hosts for making this Christmas a little easier for our family.
Great host, easy to work with. There is easy access to town and trails. Beautiful view and easy lake access. Shared space of kitchen and living room was perfect for our group. Grill and patio were also appreciated. Wish the sauna would have been in working order.
Spacious and well-equipped home - terrific location - lovey view of the lake and fall colors
We stayed here for a family wedding long weekend and loved the house and property. The LR, DR, Kitchen, etc. group spaces were good sized for 8 adults to be comfortable sharing the space (some working remotely) --especially the kitchen when multiple people were preparing food at once.. Outdoor spaces were great too and conducive to fun family time and enjoying being on a late property. We loved being on a smaller lake but so close to charming Walker main street. We also liked being right on the Heartland Trail for running, walking dog and biking. Would love to come back in the summer to take full advantage of the lake and trails.
Wonderful house that accommodated 10 girls perfectly. Great area with plenty of nearby and great hiking, shopping, restaurants, breweries, etc… Great bonfire patio area. We had such a fun time!
Really nice house.. Lots of room and comfortable spaces. A classic up north vacation home. Easy walk to grocery and other stores. Quiet location with the lake right out the door. Heartland trail across the street makes for unlimited biking/running/walking options.
Doesn’t get much better than this.
