About this property

Heart Rock Lodge Elevation above 5200, Views, Trails, Hot Tub

JUST 3 MILES TO THE SLOPES AND TRAILS from this luxury Sugar Mountain home with stunning views across the mountains, easily enjoyed from the deck or through the large windows throughout the home. The epitome of a true escape, with pinball machine, video arcade, roast s'mores and hotdogs at the fire pit on a clear night, soak in the hot tub while gazing at the view, or play a game of pool in the great room while the chef prepares a gourmet dinner. Best of all, it is a very short drive to the slopes of Sugar Mountain, and is just minutes from their golf course and tennis courts.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
Main level: Master with king and private bath with walk in tiled shower and soaking tub; second bedroom with queen and private bath with walk in tiled shower
Lower level: Third bedroom with king, third full bath, fourth bedroom with twin and double (bunk)

When considering your next Sugar Mountain rental and you find Heart Rock Lodge, ask yourself the following question: Which do you want most- a custom built luxury home with stunning long range views across the mountains, incredible furnishings, gourmet kitchen, fine lines and the lap of luxury; OR a fun-filled house with pool table, pinball machine, sixty game video arcade and lots more to keep your children and teens entertained so you can enjoy your vacation? If you choose both, then Heart Rock Lodge is the perfect house for you - the perfect family vacation rental!

This exquisite house with the best of everything will keep you marveling as you enjoy the custom touches throughout, such as 8-inch solid locust staircase beams, stacked stone fireplace and kitchen island, marble countertops, cypress ceilings, Travertine marble in all bathrooms, stainless steel appliances and an all glass front looking out on miles and miles of long range mountain views. In fact, almost every room in Heart Rock Lodge offers a stunning view - on a clear day, you can even spy the Swinging Bridge atop Grandfather Mountain!

The four bedrooms, which offer two kings, one queen, and a log bunk bed with full and twin, this home will comfortably sleep up to nine. There is a master on the main level with walk-in shower and separate soaking tub in a beautiful Travertine tiled spacious bath. A second bedroom with queen bed and private bath with walk in shower also has a view of the mountains, while the lower level has the other two spacious bedrooms. First, a second master with king and view from the private doors out onto the lower deck; third full bath with marble countertops and flooring and combination tub with shower; and the kid's bedroom, which sleeps up to three with the unique log bunk and also a great view.

The downstairs family room has a large screen TV, private bar, pinball machine, table-style video arcade with sixty games, lots of board games and a gas fireplace not to mention its own deck to admire the view and access the hot tub.

The living room upstairs has a large wood burning fireplace in a spacious great room with pool table, all glass front and open kitchen for lots of family gatherings.

Fun family vacations especially for teens are difficult to keep everyone happy. Heart Rock Lodge takes care of that for you by offering a large basketball court, zip line for younger children, firepit with log seating, obstacle bridges for races, and inside there is a real pinball machine, an electronic arcade with 60 games, and a Hickory pool table for kids and adults. On the lower deck is a large hot tub for relaxing after a long day of skiing or hiking. There are lots of nearby trails to explore, and you can walk to the top of the slopes. All of this without leaving the neighborhood but nearby there are loads of adventurous activities for entertainment. We would love to help fill your itinerary with caving, hiking, skiing, rafting, fly fishing, canoeing, rock climbing, bird watching, wildlife viewing, and incredible restaurants and local attractions. Heart Rock Lodge is where your vacation will Rock!!

Awesome for a group vacation

House had great views! Close to the slopes and there is a plaza right up the road with a grocery store as well as pizza place. This is great for a group of adults who dont want to share rooms. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to whip up a family dinner. Hot tub and pool table were both a hit!

We had a great time. This house is great proximity to everything in sugar, banner elk, and Boone. We had plenty of room for everyone without feeling like we were right on top of each other. The views were beautiful!

Great Property, Great Location

We had a great stay at Heart Rock Lodge. House was just as described. Easy check in process. House was clean and well equipped. Great cozy living room with nice fireplace to gather. Hot tub was perfect after skiing. Kids loved exploring the property. Location is very convenient to Sugar Ski Resort, Banner Elk and quick drives to Boone and Blowing Rock and Grandfather Winery.

Gorgeous property high on the mountain

We rented for a snow trip and birthday celebration. We did get a lot of snow so be sure to have proper gear and vehicles. Rental staff are awesome and let us stay a little bit later to avoid driving down the mountain in inclement weather. Hot tub was great, furniture comfortable, and well appointed kitchen. Close to shopping and skiing resorts! Thanks for a great stay!

Perfect mountain house

This place was better than expected. The pictures don't do it justice. Everything was well appointed and they thought of so many details. The location is amazing, close to the slopes and food options. The lot is pretty private compared to neighboring homes (though don't expect wilderness! It's very suburban). We'll definitely be returning.

Excellent!

We loved this house! It was spotless. The bed linens were very high quality and we appreciated the ample supply of towels and washcloths. The kitchen was very well stocked with very nice pots and pans. We all loved the video game (Ms Pac Man!) and pinball machine. But the best part of this house are the views from the back deck. Absolutely breathtaking...we would definitely stay here again.

Great family weekend

This place was absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed our stay here with family including our fur babies. The views were breathtaking and surrounding was quiet and relaxing. The kitchen was well stocked and beds super comfortable. The boys enjoyed the hot tub and playing pool. The only negative was that the pinball machine wasn't working and the wifi was in and out sometimes. Also the fire pit area was adorable but difficult for some to get to due to the rock stairs that lead you there. The host were very responsive to any suggestions or issues. Would definitely recommend to others visiting the area.

Family Ski Trip

The house was beautiful. It was spacious and convenient to Sugar Mountain. Honestly, it sleeps 9 comfortably; anymore would have to sleep on sofas. Occasionally, the internet would go out. The hot tub was relaxing and the “dated” video machine fun. It was disappointing the pinball machine didn’t work. The house could have used a better cleaning.

Perfect for our family of 9

The living area is one large room so relaxing, eating, cooking and playing pool brings everyone together while the getaway game room/bar room was perfect for kids and adults if you wanted separate space. 5 TVs was great. The views were phenomenal! Plenty of parking and was so easy to check in and out Absolutely need 4 wheel drive good tires. Don’t take that suggestion lightly. Eat dinner at the Peddling Pig. Sugar mountain leaves much to be desired availability to ski and parking was a disaster but the house lived up to our expectations entirely.

Donica stay 12-16 JAN 2023

Very nice place to stay and we enjoyed our stay. Very comfortable and excellent location. Two small things that were found and we feel need to be addressed. The downstairs bathtub does not drain and the ceiling light in the same bathroom doesn’t work. Disappointed the property management never returned my call regarding my questions about the garbage. We received an email from the property management company that included the statement that garbage would be picked up on Saturday and Wednesday. Also read in the welcome book that we were suppose to dispose of the garbage at a remote dump site which conflicted with what we read in the email. We found two garbage cans in the garage which were full of garbage from the previous renters as well as garbage around the trash cans. We put the trash cans out by the street early Saturday morning, however the garbage was never picked up that day. We called the office and never heard back from them. We eventually put all the garbage in our vehicle and dumped it at the remote site. It would have been nice to have the office call back to clarify the information provided to us regarding the garbage policy.

Great Place to stay

Home was amazing with incredible views! House has everything you need. Close To everything and close to ski lifts. Slightly dirty on arrival but not sure when the last people stayed so cleanup may have been weeks prior (lots of dust collection). Unable to get correct internet password as nobody returned our call despite calling and emailing. The password is different than what they send you in the email. We found the welcome book in the house with correct password but we left that day. Password should be updated in email. Overall would stay there again. Great experience!

Annual Birthday Trip!

Overall we loved the house! The pictures were accurate & the views were amazing! Hot tub was perfect end to everyone’s night. The house was entertaining enough for the weekend that we didn’t need to leave! Only downside to the house was we couldn’t connect to WifI (ohh well—we still had good phone service). We would def stay here again!
