About this property

Screened-In Porch With Hot Tub, Upscale Finishes + Resort Amenities

A three-bedroom, A-shape log cabin, Marlene’s Hideaway is a delight in and of itself. Making it even more enticing is its location within the White Oak Resort. Not only is the resort packed with amenities, but it is also just a short drive from area’s numerous attractions.

Resembling an Alpine chalet but set among the towering trees and foothills of the Smoky Mountains, Marlene’s Hideaway can sleep as many as six people in comfort and rustic style. The primary bedroom, located on the main floor, features a comfortable king-size bed with a well-padded leather headboard, so that you can easily prop yourself up to read, watch TV or surf the web while remaining cozy beneath the covers. The other two bedrooms, each of which has a log-frame queen-size bed, are upstairs. All three bedrooms include a TV, a ceiling fan, lustrous wood-planked walls, floors and ceilings.

Each floor has its own bathroom, and each bathroom includes dual sinks and vanities so that everyone can get prepped and primped in record time. The upstairs bathroom has an additional perk: a jetted tub. After hiking, skiing or experiencing every ride at Dollywood, a long soak is just the rejuvenation you’ll need!

The open, airy living area makes up most of the main floor. Here, too, you’ll find gleaming wood walls, floors and ceilings. On chilly winter evenings the flicker from the stone-surround fireplace will bathe them in a golden glow. Add to that the supreme comfort of the leather couches and you might never want to leave. Luckily there’s free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV with cable to keep you entertained as laze.

The handsome dining table seats six, and the cushioned chairs will encourage you to linger long after the dessert course. The kitchen, clad in black granite and the same richly figured wood as the rest of Marlene’s Hideaway, is equipped with just about every appliance, tool and gadget you could possibly need. Even if you eat your main meals at the numerous nearby restaurants, you’ll appreciate having a coffeemaker for your morning cup of joe, a blender for mixing smoothies in the morning and margaritas at night and a refrigerator where you can store milk, juice and ice cream.

Marlene’s Hideaway has both a front porch and a rear deck, so you’ll have plenty of opportunity to revel in the mountain breezes and the singing of wrens, larks and warblers. The screened-in rear deck is home to the outdoor hot tub. A soak with friends is a wonderful way to end an action-packed day.

Because Marlene’s Hideaway is located within Gatlinburg’s White Oak Resort, during your stay you can take advantage of the resort’s many amenities. During the warm-weather months these include a large outdoor swimming pool with a grotto and a waterfall that the kids will love playing in. Surrounding the pool is a patio furnished with plenty of chaises where you can soak up the sun, plus a soothing whirlpool. The resort also has outdoor gas grills, tennis courts, basketball hoops and horseshoe pits.

You could easily while away entire days without leaving the resort’s premises. That said, you’ll want to take advantage of the cabin’s proximity to the local attractions. For instance, Marlene’s Hideaway is only five minutes from Climb Works, where you can get a bird’s-eye view of the mountains while ziplining. Just a bit farther in the opposite direction is the Great Smoky Arts and Crafts Community, an eight-mile trail of shops, studios and galleries. Just 15 minutes from the cabin is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and in less than 20 minutes you can drive to downtown Gatlinburg, home to thrill rides, restaurants, distilleries, arcades, shops and more.

So, what are you waiting for? Book your stay at Marlene’s Hideaway today—before someone beats you to it!

Perfect stay

This property is amazing. The pool area (kids loved the waterfalls and warmer small pool), workout room and house are perfect for hanging out and relaxing as a family. Quiet community, very pretty view.

Great stay with amazing view and location

We loved the property. We were 30 minutes away from trails at the Smoky Mountains and had a nice cabin with a community pool to return to after hiking all day. Only minor thing to be aware of is if your stay is long, they only supply you with a starter amount of dish soap and coffee. You also need to supply your own laundry soap as well.

Cabin was great. The access is very steep at this particular cabin but there are other options at the same resort for someone with mobility issues. The amenities were nice. The kids had a great time in the pool and hot tub. It was also nice that there were several propane grills throughout the resort to use.

family vacation

Nice property in a nice resort. Only problems were: not enough towels, not enough silverware, not enough pots and pans. Also most surprising was two decks, one chair which was on front porch! Someone at the resort gave us another chair to use/have, so we left location with more chairs than it had before.

Family Reunion

Renting from VRBO/VTrips/ Jackson Mountain Homes was good. Nice resort but the cabin we stayed in needs 'refreshed'. The blinds in the main living area are broken. The sofa, loveseat, and dining room chairs are all worn out and sagging. Lighting is poor - need higher watt bulbs and/or lighter colored shades. Shower curtian rod in the uptairs bathroom kept falling down. Wash machine had water standing in it which stunk up the whole cabin. After a couple of calls someone finally came with a shop vac to remove the stinky water but the washer was never fixed during the week we were there. The pool was also closed for 3 days for repairs. Would not recommend unless the necessary updates and repairs were done.

Close to popular attractions and quiet

The house isn't quite as secluded as I thought. It is in a plan with other cabins. It was quiet though which surprised me. The house could use some labels so you know what switches turn on what. It could also use some hooks. There weren't enough places for wet towels or bathing suits. The hot tub is located right outside the master bedroom so the teenagers were traipsing through when we were trying to go to bed. That room was also very dark. The location was close to most things ~20-30 minutes from Gatlinburg and Pigeonforge.

A great stay but not without it’s hiccups

The cabin was very clean and nicely furnished with exception of couch and love seat in living room. They are not comfortable. We cooked a meal and quickly realized the dishwasher did not work. The community is very quiet however, the cabins are very close together with limited parking. There are steep stairs to enter the cabin which could be a problem to some. Overall, we enjoyed stay. The hot tub was a big hit with our family.

Great on short notice

Very fast and easy to book, only misleading thing was when I booked the location, I thought I would get the option for payment plans but did not. Location wasn't bad, just on the outskirts for activities in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. The area was quiet and clean. Cabins are being built around the cabin but there wasn't any noise, so they might not have been working on them when we stayed. Cabin was cute and enough space for one child and 4 adults. They provided essentials which made things easier around the kitchen and bathroom. Hot tub was nice.

Nice but not worth the money.

It’s a nice place but for the money. It should not have dust bunny’s on the wall or floor. And the hot tub had skin floating on top of the water. And we tried to bake a pizza and the handle was broke on the oven. 2 out of the three TVs worked and they was the size of a smart phone.

Great Mountain Getaway

Loved the cabin in the mountain experience! Very family friendly and great layout. Be aware that cell phone service/internet is very spotty. Only had 1 minor issue with the dishwasher not working but we just hand washed dishes. We would definitely stay here again!

Marlene’s hideaway 216

There was mold on the upstairs shower curtain and around the tub. The upstairs bathroom toilet seat was broke. There were lights out in the bathroom upstairs. The dishwasher did not work. Filter on the hot tub was filthy and broken . Grip tape on the front steps was missing. The concierge was totally useless.

Not the best.

The TVs didn’t connect well and where so tiny you could barley see anything. The wifi connection was horrible the entire time. The hot tub was not well maintained and didn’t work very well. There’s not much privacy at all. Even in 90 degree weather the pool was to ice cold to swim in. I had to call the support number just to finally get the key code for the door that was supposed to sent on day of check in. All in all. I would check around for better places especially with how much I paid for this place.

Nice but needs a few things

The cabin was very clean and we were very pleased overall with this cabin. The location was great. The area was quiet and peaceful. We had no issues with checkin and communication with property management was great. The pool on the property was also very nice! However, I would like to note that there are some maintenance issues that need to be addressed. 1- the dishwasher. When we first arrived the dishwasher smelled very bad. We called maintenance and they arrived very quickly. They reset the breaker and we were able to run it BUT one of us had to go flip the breaker every time we wanted to run the dishwasher. 2- plumbing. The right sink in the upstairs bathroom didn’t drain well and there seems to be a leak going into the downstairs bathroom 3- WIFI. We had little to no wifi for the entire duration of our stay. This was an issue for us because we have a small child and needed to be able to run a baby monitor at nighttime. As previously stated, we were satisfied with our stay and had a nice family vacation. With a little extra attention, this cabin could easily go from 4 stars to 5.

Grad trip for my daughter

We got there we had no saucepans. Took us a day or two to get those due to mix up with VRBO . We had a leak of some sort while there, maintenance came and caulked bathtub. Tv is upstairs bedroom had a box issue and were without tv for two nights. Location was too far from main road. The description says it was just minutes from attractions. Nice cabin overall with a few issues.
