The Lodge at Mablewood is located in scenic Decatur County, Georgia. This beautiful lodge is centrally located in a quiet country setting between Bainbridge, Georgia and Tallahassee, Florida – just a few miles east of Highway 27. The Lodge has five beautifully appointed rooms.
Built on a beautiful 125-acre farm where tobacco and peanuts once grew, the Lodge at Mablewood was completed in October 2013 and was uniquely built and furnished so that when you enter, you know that you are at home and above all, welcome. This beautiful country home will bring back memories of days gone by, a simpler time when things moved at a slower pace and folks appreciated the serenity of country living. The original home-place of Willie and Mabel Cooper, built in 1887, remains on the property and is just a short stroll down the sidewalk from the Lodge.
The property is planted in tall, graceful Loblolly pines with stands of native hardwoods that attract local wildlife such as deer, quail, turkey, fox, squirrel, raccoon and all kinds of birds and butterflies. In addition to the abundant wildlife on the farm, the Lodge is home to three fun-loving donkeys, Blanche (mother), Rose (daughter) and Donnie (son). They are not only great pets, but they are part of our Mablewood family. The Lodge also maintains free-range chickens that provide farm-fresh eggs for guests.
The Lodge was once home to Mablewood Personal Care Home, established in 2014. Upon completion of The Barn, it became undeniable that Mablewood Farm was best suited as a destination wedding/event venue and a place for families and large groups to gather to enjoy their time away from the hustle and bustle of every day life.
