Lovely stay

Jane and Tom were wonderful hosts. Warm, inviting and making themselves available for any and all questions. Their home is from 1820, so a lot of local history. A hop to Wickford and its restaurants and charming beach. 20 minutes to the state beaches and the seafood restaurants in Narragansett and Gali

Saunderstown Farmhouse

Had a great time at this vintage farmhouse for our sizable family vacation. House was well equipped for all our needs, right down to loads of toys and games for all ages. The property and home was lovely and the owner very nice, as well! Sad to leave, but happy for the great memories made here!

Family yearly reunion

The host is wonderful and friendly. Even gave us some of their clams when they went clamming. The house was roomy and easily accommodated our party of 8. We especially liked the kitchen which was roomy and well stocked. We unfortunately had many days of rain which didn’t allow us to make use of the grounds. Despite that we had fun.

Excellent, perfect getaway

We stayed here for just over a week and it could not have been better. The place was wonderful! We were a group of adults and children that needed 5 good sleeping areas and we got that and there were still a few sleeping options left. Everyone got a space that they loved. Enough bedrooms, enough bathrooms, huge common area, great deck overlooking the fields. Just perfect. The kitchen was well stocked and we cooked every meal in. The location is also perfect - a short drive to supermarket, shops, tourist attractions, beaches, wildlife refuges, etc.. The owner could not have been nicer. She was super responsive, very helpful, and we communicated somewhat frequently throughout our stay for little things. I would definitely hope to come back here again!!

Highly recommended

We had a wonderful stay at Jane's beautiful home. Jane was professional, friendly, and accommodating. As advertised, the house is a charming older farm house with modern amenities. It was both comfortable and relaxing. A great place for the family. The yard has a big field with pretty gardens, and our boys enjoyed using the scooters Jane kindly lent them to scooter in the driveway and around the neighborhood. The house is on a quiet road and away from other homes, but it is also very conveniently located (only 5 minutes from the highway). The location allowed us to easily visit Newport and also spend time exploring Jamestown, Wickford, and spots throughout Narragansett. It is within short driving distance of several good restaurants, and we found lots of things to do for both adults and children. We cannot say enough good things.

Most Memorable family vacation.

This farmhouse was the most amazing home base for our family of 12. It was conveniently located to ever place we wanted to explore. It was comforting to have such a welcoming clean and thoughtful place to call "home" for the week. We loved the beaches but honestly could have stayed on site and had a great time just gathered around the fire pit and on the large porch looking over the fields where the dogs could run free. The lay out of the house is so ideal and beautiful. The large open kitchen, dinning and living room were perfect for our large family gatherings. We had everything we needed and more to feel right at home. The owners were great at communicating and making sure we had everything we needed. We felt as if we were part of their family with their generosity and help. And if they ever need a house sitter they can call us and we will be there asap! ;) Thank you again for making our stay so enjoyable.

Exceeds All Expectations

This incredible, welcoming farmhouse exceeded all expectations I had for a home rental to house my extended family who arrived to celebrate my daughter's wedding. This cherished home is everything the reviews claimed it to be and has every amenity you might require. It is easily accessible to Newport and all RI destinations. The living spaces, both interior and exterior, are very spacious and beautifully appointed. The kitchen is the heart of the home and is exceptional for meals and entertaining. Dining on the porches and evening strolls about the extensive property are a bonus. The beds are comfortable and covered in hand-made quilts. The property was immaculate upon our arrival and the homeowners could not have been more accommodating. My family is spread throughout the U.S. and the opportunity to gather and enjoy one another's company in this charming, gracious house helped to make our celebration perfect. This home is truly a gem and I consider us very fortunate to have had the great opportunity to enjoy it. And thank you, Jane and Tom, for the memories. Cheers!

A ONE-OF-A-KIND HOME FOR A ONE-OF-A-KIND VACATION!

We have rented several houses for vacation trips before, but this unique home is by far, the best one yet! It is so beautifully maintained and blends historic charm with updated architecture and modern conveniences. The home is filled with family photos and colonial antiques, and the feeling of family bonds and generational love is everywhere. It was the perfect setting to celebrate our mother's 84th birthday. The kitchen is fantastic for family meals and entertaining. The home is roomy, and the grounds are absolutely spectacular. We enjoyed grilling on the patio just about every night and playing outside in the yard. The outdoor shower was a highlight! The house is extremely convenient to many of Rhode Island's best destinations -- Wickford, the beaches, Jamestown and Newport. It's tucked away down a beautiful country road so you're away from crowds and traffic. It's the perfect vacation spot. We plan to return for many years to come!

Wonderful Week in Wickford!!

We had a great week, and the house is in the perfect location to visit Newport, Jamestown, Wickford, and Narragansett. The home and grounds were beautifully decorated and maintained. The house came with everything you need, the kitchen came better equipped then any house we ever rented and the house had toys for the kids to play with which was a nice surprise. The owner met us on arrival and showed us around and made sure we had everything we needed during the week and gave us good advice and places to visit. A GREAT place to relax and super home base for exploring the area.

An exceptional choice for comfort and charm

In August, my family stayed at Jane and Tom’s farmhouse, and we were more than happy with the property and with Jane and Tom’s hospitality. Right after arriving, they showed us around, letting us know about every reasonable detail concerning the house and neighborhood, and thereafter were always quickly accessible by phone if we had any questions. This house is beautiful. The pictures on the website are true to life. It is on a forested road that provided for pleasant morning runs, and would also be great for bicycling. From the backyard, you can see only one other house in the distance. Very private. There are six bedrooms in the house, a few TVs, a grill on the back porch, a moveable outdoor wood-burning fireplace, an outdoor shower to use when you return from the beach, and even a rope tree swing! There’s ample space on the back porch for eating and hanging out. The kitchen opens out to the great room, so the space is perfect for entertaining. Two of the bedrooms are on the first floor, and the remaining ones are on the second. Jane and Tom are very much pet-friendly, which we really appreciated, as we have two dogs that love to vacation with the family. And while they’re pet-friendly, the house is impeccably clean; they do a great job with the upkeep. The location of the house is good. There are multiple farms, supermarkets, and a Wal-Mart in very close proximity. Inside Scoop has wonderful ice cream and we ate dessert there almost every night. Newport is less than 25 minutes away, and has some good beaches with mild-medium surf. We went to “Second Beach,” which is in Middletown, just past Newport. Scarborough Beach is also very popular, and it’s large and clean. That’s in Narragansett, less than 30 minutes away. The mansion tours in Newport are amazing, especially the Breakers, which was a summer home for the Vanderbilts. I highly recommend you spend a day in Newport while you’re there. Overall, I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for New England charm and comfort and a good time. This house feels like home. That’s important. When I’m on vacation, I like to feel like the house I’m staying in is my house. This place perfectly embodies that spirit.

WOnderful Country setting in Rhode Island!!

The property was absolutely beautiful!! The pictures don't do it justice!! The owners were wonderfully accomodating for our group, and I would definitely recommend this property to a friend or relative. We had a group of 7, extended family for vacation, consisting of adults and children, and it was perfect for all of us. We enjoyed Block Island and Newport, and ate Ice Cream several times at local places, like Brickleys and Inside Scoop. We had Kingston Pizza a couple of times, both for Pizza and for other Italian fare, and it was all delicious. Even though we had rainy weather a couple of days, we still really enjoyed ourselves!! I would highly recommend it!

Our Fabulous Farmhouse Vacation!

This house made our family vacation truly wonderful. The house was very clean and well maintained and the home owner could not have been anymore helpful and gracious. The 6 bedrooms were each unique with their beautifully handmade quilts and antiques. The history of the home was amazing and added a special warmth to our stay. The newer addition provided a spacious family room, dining area, and a fully equiped kitchen with granite countertops and a sub-zero refrigerator. Our children loved playing croquet in the large yard and we felt comfortable letting our children explore the property. The beaches were all within a 10-15 minute drive away. Although we had to drive to get to the beaches we found it was a relief to leave the chaos at the end of the day and return to our peaceful farm. The outdoor shower provided a wonderful place to rinse the sand off after a long day at the beach. Newport, Jamestown, Boston, and so many other places were all easily accessed from this home as well. We would recommend this home as a great/unique place to vacation.

Family vacation

What a wonderful week we just had at this beautiful home! It was everything we had hoped for and more! The home was so warm and had such charm. It was different than the rentals we've experienced. This is a home and it had every comfort of a home, right down to the smallest detail. We all enjoyed the open living area and the grounds were just lovely. The location was great, we went to the beach most days, also to Newport, Wickford, did a lot of biking, took long walks. The owners were very helpful, friendly and full of information for us. I would highly recommend this property and hope to make this a yearly tradition for our family.

Our Vacation

We stayed for a week the beginning of July. The house is awesome! Spacious, nicely decorated, modern appliances. We had a small family get together for seven of us. We even had room for several more family members who were unable to make it. The central air was greatly appreciated since it was a very hot and humid week. The house located within an easy drive to the Naragansett beaches, Brickley's Ice Cream and Newport. We also enjoyed the shops and restaurants in Wickford. We would definitely rent this house again!

Exceptional home!

This is a beautiful home. And it is a home, not a rental property, and it makes a world of difference. You feel as if you're visiting your own family or dear friends, it's comfortable and welcoming. The decor of the house is wonderful, it's a classic old farmhouse with rustic wooden doors but with all the conveniences of a modern home. Wireless internet, cable, wonderfully outfitted kitchen, plenty of nooks to sit and read in or have a nap, VERY comfortable beds, bright, airy....this home is perfect for large families or a group of friends. The house is set up so there are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor, then 2 of the bedrooms are at opposite ends of the house on the second floor, and each has a bathroom. The other 2 bedrooms are in between, and totally convenient to the bathrooms, so it's a wonderful set up. The surrounding property is glorious, open fields, beautiful trees, stone walls....there's a field behind the property that my daughter loved to ride her bike around. The outdoor shower was heavenly, we are already planning our own at home we loved it so much! It's also perfect for returning home from the beach. The house is also very close to so many places, and easy car rides to Wickford center, grocery stores, beaches, etc. You can go on some wonderful walks as well, and we definitely recommend walking down to the Gilbert Stuart museum, the grounds are lovely, and for those interested in colonial era farms/homes/furniture, it's a lot of fun to take the tour. This is a property for people who want to feel as if they are at home, and will treat it that way. The owners are lovely, and we are extremely grateful to them for opening up their home to us. We found we didn't want to leave the house much, and spent a lot of time there relaxing, catching up with our extended family, and eating! We will come back another time, and already miss "our" home away from home. Thank you Jane and family, you were so welcoming and gracious. Thank you so much!

Family Fun

We rented this lovely house last week with 3 generations of our family. There was plenty of room for the 9 of us to spend quality time together and also have privacy when desired. Jane and Tom were gracious hosts. Fully equipped with every cooking utensil, pot, dishes and glasses imaginable--it was great to cook family dinners and eat outside on the patio. They also provided us with some great suggestions for day trips and lobster take out restaurants. We would highly recommend this house for family vacations.
