House was clean and comfortable even though it is an older home. We celebrated a 96th birthday and thanksgiving. Perfect place to take walks by the waterfront Backyard good for dogs, but the fence does have some open areas so you have to keep tabs on the animals.
Had a great stay. The house is clean and in a quiet neighborhood close to Lake Monroe. Downtown Sanford is 2 minutes away and has a bunch of restaurants. Perfect for a family.
Property description was not misleading. Home is in a short distant to the riverwalk which was beautiful and fun. However, the home is older. Very strong musty odor due to moisture (we emptied the large dehumidifier daily, sometimes more than once). My daughter and I both had asthma issues during our stay.
However, home has a lot of great features inside. Very roomy. It's just older (as described).
House is pet friendly. We chose it for the fenced in back yard, but several areas of the fence are missing so it is not secure. The backyard and exterior need some attention. The large presence of bushes and rotten fruit on the ground in some areas did have us concerned about critters with our pets.
Nevertheless, customer service was excellent. Location was good. We most likely won't stay again strictly due to the air quality of home.
As soon as we walked in the front door we truly thought the house was beautiful and felt at home right away ... and the Master bedroom the Bed was so comfortable! Everything about the house and the neighborhood was exactly what we were looking for.Thank you for opening your Home up to us ..in order to be comfortable and close to his Mothers house ..
What a quite and lovely neighborhood. Easy stroll to the lake waterfront with your 1st cup of coffee/tea in the morning is a fantastic way to start your day. Kitchen was well stocked with all the tools you need to cook in and plenty of nearby places to eat out if thats what works for you. Beds were comfortable and plenty of towels available. Great home away from home.
Reviewing our stay is complicated.
When we arrived at the property after thirteen hours on the road, we were more than ready to rest our heads. I followed the check in instructions to the letter: “Please text me at this number and I will give you the check in code.” My texts went unanswered. I reached out to VRBO and was told the same thing. By now, we’d been in our cars for twenty minutes, needing to use the bathroom and growing increasingly anxious about our lodging for the night. Finally VRBO gave me a backup telephone number which I called and received the code.
As we settled in, we found that there were only beds enough for five. We are a six-person family and so my youngest had to sleep on the uncomfortable living room sofa.
The overall vibe of the place was very homey and relaxed, in spite of the fact that the wall hangings look like they came from a Red Roof Inn fire sale. There is a huge backyard and screened in porch—both very nice.
We were there for a wedding and wound up entertaining twenty-four people the evening before we left. The house easily accommodated that many guests and the shelves have a bunch of board games, too.
We cooked for everyone. The kitchen is nice, but it’s not very well stocked with tools—there were too many of some items, none of others. There were also some used coffee supplies—artificial sweeteners and old coffee.
Similarly, the bathrooms are nice enough, but they were oddly stocked with half used shampoo and body wash bottles that looked like left overs from previous guests. Very strange. They could have been cleaner—there was garbage on the floor of the master bathroom.
It would be good if the owner would provide more garbage bags, towels, and power strips. It’s an older house and the rooms have very few outlets.
All that said, we would go back if we ever needed to be in Sanford again. The fact is, the home was comfortable and accommodated many people visiting at one time. Had it not been for the few hiccups, I’d have given it five stars.
My family of 5 stayed 3 nights and this house was perfect for all of us. Clean house with comfortable beds, lots of games for the kids and a big backyard. Host was very nice, great communication and very accommodating. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was perfect for us and as advertised. The large fenced backyard was great for our dog, living spaces were comfortable and we really enjoyed the screened in porch on the cooler nights. Downtown Sanford is a fantastic little town with great restaurants, bars and breweries. It’s convenient location to Orlando and beaches make it a great place to stay in Central Florida, we will definitely be back when visiting this area!
We wanted a quiet place to stay in order to celebrate our sons 17th bday and my son had a baseball tournament @ Boombah Sports Complex so this place was absolutely perfect. Had all the things we needed and was conveniently located to downtown Sanford, and the Sports complex. EASY CHECK IN AND OUT and great communication throughout our stay. Would definitely stay again.
We had a great weekend getaway in this home. It is close enough to the Orlando theme parks while also being far away enough from the hustle and bustle of the city — which is exactly what we wanted. We explored the nearby springs and also spent two days at the parks. We brought a toddler (2 year old) and a small dog, and the home was safe for both of them. Debbie was very easy to reach for check in instructions. No complaints! Thanks again.
Wonderful location, very homey and owner was extremely accommodating.
We loved the location. Close to downtown, close to the river walk. We completely fell in love with area. Debbie was extremely accommodating especially with plan changes. We loved the house and so did our two dogs. They came in and felt right at home and so did we.
Thank you!
My husband and I had a long stay at this lovely spacious home that had everything we needed. It was a good location for our various activities and visits with friends. Our feline family member was welcomed and the lanai was a favorite of his and ours. Debbie was very helpful indeed and made our stay so much easier. The neighborhood is very quiet and neighbors are so friendly. We truly enjoyed the area, easy walking places and the events we attended.
Really impressed with this property and presentation. Felt like I was home. Enjoyed checking out historical section of Sanford. When we come to this area again, we will hope this house is available!
This house was in a perfect and convenient location. There is a large, beautiful backyard and plenty of room to get outside. We had a great time visiting with relatives in the area and would definitely be interested in staying again.
We booked this property based on all of the excellent reviews. The area is great - out of the craziness of Orlando but close enough. The house is clean and well kept. We really enjoyed the open layout when hanging out with family. By the time we left, it felt almost like home.

Why they chose this property
This property is in a Prime location and has only had two owners since it was built in the 1950's. It has a calming beauty to it that you feel the moment you walk in the door. 1/2 mile from down town Sanford and in the Old Mayfair neighborhood.
What makes this property unique
We have an abundance of different birds visiting all year. Two American Bald Eagles live in our neighborhood and perch in the trees in our yard. It is quite a neat site!
