Itasca state park, the headwaters of the Mississippi, is about 20 miles away, and offers hiking and biking(snowmobile) trails and state park visitor center with nightly nature presentations in the summer months. Headwaters golf course is 0.4 miles down the road, and you will find many fine restaurants in Park Rapids, Dorset (5 miles) , and Walker (30 miles).
