In the morning, stroll along the uncrowded white sandy Ka'anapali beach below you and enjoy a swim in the ocean or in the Mahana's private oceanside pool. Loungechairs are always available in this uncrowded oasis.

Take a walk on the boardwalk along Ka'anapali Beach connecting the Mahana with nearby restaurants such as Dukes and shops at Whalers village. And to cap the day, watch the sun as it lingers and slowly sets over the ocean right in front of you between the islands of Molokai and Lanai. Take a few minutes in the hot tub spa under the stars and fall asleep to the sound of the waves against the shore of Ka'anapali.

This tastefully furnished condo in the Lanai Tower of the Mahana at Ka'anapali, rated one of the top hotels in Hawaii by Travel and Leisure, has a wonderfully comfortable king-size bed with a pillow top mattress in the master bedroom and a comfortable queen-size sofa sleeper in the living room.

The master bedroom and living room both open onto your own private oceanfront lanai/balcony with a table and 4 chairs with sweeping views of Ka'anapali Beach.

The oceanfront kitchen, featuring a travertine floor, beautiful cabinets and granite counters, is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare a perfect sunset dinner to enjoy at the marble-based dining table or at another table on the lanai. The unit has free high speed Wi-Fi, 2 flat screen Smart TVs, a CD player with i-Pod docking and stereo, DVD, a separate vanity area, a large beautifully renovated Italian stone tiled walk-in shower, and your own in-unit washer/dryer.

Luxury linens, an iron and ironing board, a hairdryer and beach towels are all provided for your convenience.

Mahana 818 at Ka'anapali is truly a beachfront escape. You are only steps from Ka'anapali Beach. And snorkeling, scuba diving, tennis, pickle ball, 5 world class golf courses, fine and casual dining and shopping are all close by the Mahana.

First, Kathy who owns this property is very responsive and seems to be a nice person - right from the booking time till my arrival, she answered all our queries and also suggested where to eat and what to do for our family/teens. The property views are amazing (ocean front view) , clear instructions to get in/check in and nice decor overall. We had some challenges for water not draining in the shower and Kathy had her cleaner come in next day to take care of it. The food trucks are walking distance which is nice and it also has a nice grocery store right across (5min drive). So, location is good and you can always work with Kathy if there's any unexpected issues that show up - she seems to want your stay to be enjoyable and very approachable. The pool is nice (wasn't crowded) and it also had a hot tub next to it which was relaxing. Thanks Kathy for sharing your condo !!

The Condo was perfect!

The condo was perfect, plenty of room, clean and tidy. It had excellent views of the ocean and beautiful gardens with pool and hot tub. The location was convenient to many local businesses, shops and adventures that we could walk to. The check-in process was simple and there were plenty of amenities. It was certainly a home away from home with everything we needed and much more. Kathryn was so helpful during our initial reservation inquiry and answered many questions we had regarding the area and time of our stay. Thank you Kathryn and David for sharing your home away from home…it’s beautiful and we highly recommend it!

Mahana 818 is a gorgeous and elegant condo. I enjoyed every minute there. I saw more whales from the floor to ceiling glass windows in LR than ever...one whale breached 9 times as I watched! Kathy's decor is pleasing to the eye in every detail. Highly recommended!

Amazing Maui stay!

Clean, comfortable and beautiful views. We saw turtles daily and dolphins and seals on several occasions. The beach is very quiet and it was nice to have a walking trail to Black Rock.

Condo is in a great building right on the water! There were sea turtles in the water near the beach everyday. The condo is a little dated but was clean the owners were very helpful and give lots of information about things to do in the area. We loved every minute of our stay!

First of all, nothing can beat the location! Crashing waves all night. Amazing view. So relaxing! Close to everything you could want.Condo layout was perfect for us. Unfortunately maintenance was being done right when we were allowed in ☹️. Condo itself could use a refresh in decor and paint, no fan in bathroom but I think the price reflected that. Overall, location trumps all!

Always stay at the Mahana when we come to Maui. This particular condo unit was a better price than many other units, but it does need some updating. Can’t beat the location and the views of turtles and always great to grill by the pool. Also.. a few steps away from Dukes..which is our favorite place to eat and enjoy sunset drinks.

Kathy & David place is so PETFECT for everything! The location, decorations, setup and cleanliness. They have everything for us. An ocean view like no other~

This condo was perfect in so many ways for our annual family vacation in Maui. We always stay for a month and this condo suited us perfectly. We stay in the same building annually and liked this condo for the perfect view of the ocean and the whales. I was also able to keep an eye on my husband while he surfed, from the comfort of the condo or the lanai. The kitchen had all we needed to make family meals including gas grill utensils. The owners were very easy to chat with when we needed something one day. We will stay here again!

Two week holiday Kaanapali Beach

We loved the spectacular view of the ocean from all main rooms at this property. It was breathtaking. We also enjoyed the upbeat beach vibe in the condo as well as the comfortable furniture. The condo was well-equipped with everything we needed during our stay. The location was excellent and allowed us to take long walks each day along the Kaanapali beach, swim in the ocean and then head out to explore the local area. The pool was clean, warm, and always had lots of chairs to sit in and enjoy. Communications with David and Kathy with were quick and helpful. We extended our stay an extra day due to our plane booking changing and they were very flexible in making this work for us. We would definitely return to this condo.

Amazing!

We could not have asked for a better location and view! The condo was so quiet but right next to the resorts and walking path. Maui was very busy during our visit so it was nice to have a peaceful sanctuary at the end of the day. We really enjoyed the food trucks and grocery store about a 3 minute walk from the condo. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook meals there. Bed was so comfortable as was the entire condo. We absolutely loved our stay!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful condo with us! (We think it's the best building on the beach!)The pictures don't even do it justice. We enjoyed watching the turtles from the lanai and sunset too! It was a great space for our family of 4, convenient to walk to the store, restaurants and beach. The condo was very clean and stocked with everything we needed and more! We also enjoyed the amenities on property, the pool, barbecue and shuffle board. Communication was great and made our stay care free. Mahalo!

Gorgeous location!

The view outside the condo was just breathtaking! You are literally on the water. The sounds of the waves are so soothing. You get a view of Lanai too. The condo has a pool and better yet a nice 9 ft deep end so you can dive in. You don’t see pools that have those deep ends anymore. Kathy has the condo set up with everything you can think of. Plus all things to use at the beach you could ever imagined you’d need. The ac was nice to come home to after being in the sun all day. I’ve seen places reviewed that say the ac units are not strong enough but not this one! I had to keep turning the temp up because it would get so cold!!! Kathy is an excellent host! Any questions I had she responded back to me VERY quickly! I would definitely recommend staying at Kathy and David’s condo. I know I will whenever I’m in Maui.

Perfect place and location!

The property was amazing! I stayed here with my spouse and two tweenish girls. The condo was just as described - or actually - even better. The ocean was right up to the doorsteps of the building, the views included endless ocean, far off neighboring Hawaiian islands, speculation sunsets, sea turtles, dolphins, coral and surfers. The location allowed for endless strolls on the beach or the boardwalk, walking to some of the best restaurants, and more. The building and apartment itself was quiet and clean and had lots to offer to make it feel like a home away from home. It was a perfect balance between quiet oasis yet close to social activities and excitement. Kathy and David made the entire process so seamless and smooth. I could not have asked for a better experience.

Loved the View

We had an amazing, relaxing time at Kathy's property at the Mahana. The condo is quiet, comfy bed and well appointed. We absolutely LOVED the deck and view. We spent several mornings and evenings enjoying listening to the ocean and the view. Everything you could need is in the condo (beach gear, cooking). The condo is walkable to a grocery store, several spots to eat, the beach, and other resorts (for dinner or bar). Great find, highly recommended.

We both grew up by the sea, David in Ireland, Kathy in San Francisco and we always knew that however far away we moved away from the sea, we would always come back. After we met in college, we traveled much of the world together, but it was Maui and the stretch of beach in front of the Mahana that captured our hearts. Over the years, we returned to Maui and the Mahana for a month every summer. For our children, it was a second home. Now young adults, they still love coming back every chance they can. Once you have been to the Mahana, you’ll want to come back too!

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with the Mahana in 1977. We were at a conference in Honolulu and came to Maui for a day. We were walking along the north end of Kaanapali beach. The sun was setting between the islands of Lanai and Molokai. It was the most amazing sight! We turned around and saw Mahana. We knew right then and there that we had to buy one of these beachfront homes. For us it was the view and the view and the view! We had our pick of condos and chose #818 on the spot because of its incredible view, not to high, not too low, just perfect! We were still very young and buying this condo meant that we couldn't buy a house for several years, but we never regretted the investment in a beach home on Maui! Later, we did get a house (!) and we also bought two other condos at the Mahana (#708 in the Molokai building and #819, the corner condo, which is right next door to #818). For us, however, #818 is still a magical place and one we ourselves love coming back to year after year!

What makes this property unique

For us it’s a home away from home. In winter we love watching the whales, in summer it’s the dolphins and turtles. I love getting up to see the dawn coming up over the ocean. My husband is mesmerized by the stars. We all enjoy walking or jogging on the beach, swimming and snorkeling in the crystal clear blue water, exploring all the other nearby beaches, Kapalua Bay, Napili Bay, Fleming Beach, Honolua Bay and watching the long sunsets. We also love going to the Farmers Market for fresh papaya and mangos and finding local fish to grill back at the Mahana. It’s the majesty of the ocean and the mountains. It’s the trade winds and the friendly people. It’s something else, totally special that is just impossible to describe. You have to come to Maui and the Mahana and you will experience it yourself!
