SHARI'S PLACE - UNEXPECTED CHARM; STAND-ALONE COTTAGE

Cozy and quiet is this adorable stand alone home in Santa Margarita. **There is no longer a gas "stove" in the kitchen** We have substituted a new Air Fryer, two burner gas stove top and a large electric skillet. "Margarita" is conveniently located in the middle of our fabulous San Luis Obispo County wine country. Just 10 minutes to San Luis Obispo on the South bound HWY 101 and 20 minutes to Paso Robles on North bound HWY 101. This home is very close to town and a wonderful place for walking. In town, you will find Ancient Peaks wine tasting and across the street is Santa Margarita Adventures for Zip lining and tours. I do my best to keep my house extremely clean and well maintained and very well equipped I personally make sure that all all linens are in top condition for your comfort. Our home is powered by solar! Always doing our best for your best experience.

Cute cottage

Shari's place was perfect for my husband and I, in town to visit friends for a long weekend. It was clean, well equipped for basic cooking and food prep, and an all around cozy home.

Cal Poly Baseball Trip

Sharon was an amazing host, even had some wine and dessert for us upon our arrival. Thank you for sharing your home and hospitality. Santa Margarita is a great location, between Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo.

Charming Santa Margarita Getaway with Perfect Outdoor Spaces

The house was lovely and perfectly located for my stay. I could easily walk into town for a light meal or wine tasting at Ancient Peaks. It was also ideally situated between San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles. The house itself was beautifully outfitted with everything I needed for a weekend away. I especially enjoyed the two outdoor seating areas where I could sit with my morning coffee and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Great Place In Santa Margarita!

We have family in the area and wanted to find a place close. Shari's place is perfect. Great host, very friendly and the neighborhood was nice and quiet. We enjoyed the cottage and we had everything we needed to settle in. We will be back for sure when we come out to visit and we recommend this place for location, price, and service. Thanks Shari!

Wonderful, peaceful cottage

Stayed at Shari's place for our daughters Cal Poly orientation. The commute to SLO is very quick and easy. The cottage was very clean, comfortable beds, well appointed and quiet. Shari was easy to communicate with and very hospitable. Great stay!

Perfect Santa Margarita stay

The location and the interior and the charm of the unit was all Santa Margarita! Open, clean and bright, the unit was very comfortable. Everything we needed, plenty of room, quiet and cute. We were very pleased and will return! The owner was most accommodating and the unit well stocked and supplied.

Cozy spot

Instructions for WiFi not clear. Different password on app and paper inside. Paper password is all uppercase, but we discovered it only works lower case. All in all, comfy little spot. Perfect for a couple day get away. Not having to clean anything at the end is a nice touch.

Great Getaway Weekend

We came up for a weekend to visit our son at SLO and do a little wine tasting in Paso Robles. The location was perfect, just minutes away from both. Nice local restaurants in waking distance if you don’t want to cook. This place is so cute and clean we can’t wait to come back.

Wonderful, Clean and Cozy Place!

We enjoyed our stay at Shari’s place. From the moment we booked she was very communicative and responded promptly to all my inquiries! It is a nice and cozy home away from home. We enjoyed the privacy, cleanliness, and comfort of the home. She was gracious to welcome us with a bottle of really good wine. All the amenities listed were available that made for wonderful stay. We used the air fryer and it worked well. The place is nicely decorated, bathroom and bedroom are both spacious. WiFi worked well. Private parking was a plus! Check in and check out was seamless! Washer and dryer super beneficial for longer stays! Overall, great place, centrally located, and 2-3 minutes walk to the Main Street and local restaurants. Thanks for a wonderful stay Shari and Tim. We look forward to staying at your place again.

We loved our stay here. The house had all the amenities you could possibly need along with a nice yard. The house is in a quiet little neighborhood, within walking distance to town. Shari was very kind and accommodating and allowed us to bring our dog. We enjoyed every second of this place.

Great little place

This great little house was in a wonderful location. We went down to SLO for a wedding and also down to Arroyo grande for a party. It was great to come back up the hill into a tiny quiet town into a quiet neighborhood. We were able to walk to a lovely breakfast every morning, ancient peaks tasting and restaurant, and a small lovely market. We would stay here again if we’re ever back in the area.

long weekend stay

The property was great, clean, nicely appointed, and had everything we needed for our 4 day stay (we were here for the Cal Poly Family Weekend). We were able to BBQ, cook, relax and hang out inside and outside the property. A close walk to the downtown area, so we were able to browse shops, dine, and enjoy the small town of Santa Margarita. Our hosts were great and helpful. We highly recommend this VRBO and hope we can return someday soon

When it works, it works!!

Goodness, there are just so many positives of Shari’s Place that it’s difficult to write a review! We stayed at Shari’s Place while traveling for a wedding. The cottage was exactly as pictured except Shari had left pastries and wine (from the vineyard we attended the wedding at) for us and our arrival. Shari is an exceptionally thoughtful and intentional host and her place mirrors that. There are so many amenities that make this place feel perfect. We were able to cook for many meals and everything I could have possibly needed was there. The beds are comfortable, the pillows are down, and the cottage is very clean. An aunt of mine who has helped manage luxury rental properties for work stopped by before the wedding. After no more than a few minutes in Shari’s place she exclaimed, “wow when it works, it really does work!”. It truly is what a Vrbo or any vacation rental should be. We would love to return, there is so much to see and do but always so little time. When we do, Shari’s place is the obvious lodging choice.

Relaxing Stay

This was my second time staying at this property. As before, the property was immaculate, very comfortable, and fully appointed. Shari is an amazing host, and does everything she can to make guests feel welcome. I will definitely stay here the next time I visit the San Luis Obispo area. For first time visitors to San Luis Obispo, it is important to know that the property is about eight or nine miles north of SLO on the 101 freeway. This is absolutely not a problem, but just something to point out for those who are unfamiliar with the area. The town of Santa Margarita is quite small, but very nice. There are shops and a winery within walking distance of the property, and I encourage visitors to check these out. Overall, an excellent place to stay!

Five Star Vacation Rental!

My husband and I have stayed in numerous vacation rentals over the years, both in the U.S. and abroad. Never have we seen such attention to detail and comfort as in this charming cottage in the peaceful town of Santa Margarita. As a vacationer, you can literally pack just a toothbrush and a change of clothes, because the house is equipped with everything you need: full-size refrigerator, great stove/oven, fluffy towels aplenty, hairdryer, cooking pans and utensils, binder offering maps and guides for this region, etc. etc. If you can think of it, the owners have already provided it. Also, the house is immaculate and well-maintained, with a lovely little covered patio in the back yard for al fresco dining. We couldn't have asked for anything better and highly recommend this location for an enjoyable getaway.

Why they chose this property

My husband purchased this property in 1982. Many things have happened between then and now, but it's our favorite house - loving it more than our residence next door! The front house was built by a carpenter. The back house was originally a garage and has expanded and improved throughout the years.

What makes this property unique

Cozy, comfortable, nice size rooms, storage, separate laundry room and you cannot help but feel a specialness while you are here. We are unique in that I think we are the only one bedroom in town and I will bet it is the cleanest! I actually use your cleaning fee to pay my excellent cleaners - and then, I look at it again and again.

In the living room you will find a new GOOD QUALITY sofa with a pull out standard bed. No middle bar and a comfortable, good mattress.
