Welcome to The Red House, your perfect getaway nestled in a cedar forest on a mesa just above the town of Paonia! Our charming guesthouse offers a delightful blend of comfort and privacy.

Upstairs, you'll find a fully-equipped kitchen with a cozy sitting area that opens up to a deck with beautiful views. There is also a modern bathroom and a lovely bedroom with a queen bed on the main floor.

Downstairs, there's a separate entrance with a foyer, two bedrooms, a family room perfect for relaxation, and a convenient laundry closet with washer/dryer.

Paradise close to Paonia

This place is great. We will be back The owners live on-site and were very respectful. It's quiet with Paonia about 3 minutes away. Everything was just right.

Very pleasant stay

The Red House

The hosts are fantastic. The house was spotless and well appointed. The hosts left lots of information about the house and things to do in the area. The property was surrounded by nature. We saw a flock of wild turkeys. And the area was very quiet. Loved our stay!

Relaxing in Paonia

We had a great time at this property. It was exactly a advertised and close to town as well as a short walk from an amazing winery. The owners were welcoming and great at explaining everything, very friendly. We would certainly come back!

Most wonderful vacation!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Red House. It is a wonderful property, located in the hills of Paonia, in an arid climate. The view is of the plains, with mountains in the background. Paonia is a great starting point for many adventures, including the Black Canyon, Crested Butte, Telluride, Ouray, and the desert. The property was very clean and well-stocked, including many items I haven't seen in other VRBO properties. We especially appreciated the little touches - flowers on the table, the welcome message. Mary and Jim were very welcoming and great to talk to about local hikes and sites to see. They also have a wonderful garden and lots of flowers, which adds to the experience. We truly enjoyed our vacation and hope to be back soon!

Perfect long weekend

Mary and Jim were terrific about communicating on everything. The home was perfect for our needs as a home base for sightseeing in the area. It’s in a nice quiet neighborhood and very peaceful in the evenings while relaxing and waiting for all the stars to come out in the night sky. We would definitely stay here again. Perfect Paonia Getaway

Mary’s Red House was the perfect place for us to stay during our latest trip to Paonia. The house was extremely clean and had a great layout for our family. We loved sitting on the balcony enjoying the views after a day of hiking and wine tasting. Mary and Jim were very gracious hosts and we would love to stay at their property again in the future.

Wonderful Paonia

We loved staying at The Red House. The accommodations were clean and we were lucky enough to enjoy a masterpiece evening sky from the deck the first night. In the morning we woke to a couple of deer sleeping just beside the cottage in the near woods. The hosts were lovely and we look forward to staying again. We highly recommend this beautiful spot.

House is cute

We enjoyed our stay at this cute little house. Close to a few wineries. The view is spectacular! Only thing that would be nice is to have maybe a patio set on deck to enjoy the view. Other than that would stay again.

Fun Family Visit

Some of our family recently moved to the area so we drove out for a visit. This was the perfect location for us. We were close by to our family and could return here to relax and unwind. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Mary and Jim were wonderful hosts and very helpful. We kayaked on the Gunnison River (rented from Western Slope SUP in Hotchkiss) and drove through Black Canyon stopping at several lookout areas. We loved the Paonia Bread Company's coffee and bagels. Our favorite was Big B's especially playing on the swings while waiting for dinner. We will definitely be back we enjoyed this rental home so much. Thank you to Mary and Jim for making our stay so comfortable.

Great place to stay in Paonia!

Hosts were right next door, available for what we needed but respected our privacy. The rental itself was nice, with a very pretty view from the deck and all the amenities we needed. It's a short 5 minute drive into Paonia, and is close to the highway but without any noise or lights. We very much enjoyed our stay.
