Excellent for groups and families.

We have stayed here three times now for my annual get-together with some childhood friends. You won't find a better property for larger groups (we had 9) or larger families. Having 9 bedrooms each with their private bathrooms is something you simply will not find anywhere else. The kitchen setup with two fridges and two ranges makes cooking even for a large group of hungry dudes simple and convenient. The kitchen is stocked with any utensil or dish you would need. Two separate TV viewing areas (one up and one down), dinner seating for 12. The hosts are extremely quick to respond and very pleasant to work with. You can tell they are working on improving the property-- it's in the process of being repainted, and they have added a couple large retaining walls. There is also a room stocked with games and fishing poles, and a variety of kayaks you can use while you are there. We love this place and treat it well so we can keep going back.

House was perfect for our golf group that has been coming to N MI for 30 years for fall golf. separate bathroom for every bedroom was great. House was clean and beds, linens were very comfortable. didn’t access the lake at all as we were gone 10+ hrs/day for 36 holes of golf. good proximity to Gaylord area golf courses. will definitely come back

Great family vacation at Wildwood Lodge for a second year!

Our family, ages 5 through 74, met for a week and we enjoyed having enough bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone. There is a great view of the lake from the deck. We liked the well equipped kitchen, the common areas, and the island with the fire pit. We spent a great deal of time in the water, cruising, tubing, and paddle boarding. Plan to return next year!

Wildwood Retreat

Our Family had a great time. Lots of bedrooms each with their own bathrooms was fabulous! Two refrigerators, two stoves and the Blackstone made things so much easier. The little kids all absolutely loved the beach/pond area, many made use of the kayaks. Thank you to the hosts/owners for making this great place available.

Perfect Retreat

My family and I had an extended stay over a weekend at the beginning of June and it was perfect, The kitchen was WELL stocked - which was extremely welcome and unexpected. Plenty of eating and cooking utensils, pots, pans and space. Plenty of space for the family and the spot on the lake was calm and secluded. We loved that we each had a private bed and bathroom and that each living space, in and outdoors were open and had space for every one. My family already wants to return for a different occasion.

Wonderful Rental Home

We had a total of 19 family members (all ages) stay 4 nights at the Wildwood Lodge. It is very remote, but very peaceful and quiet. There are many things to do within an hour drive from the house (Mackinac Island, Mackinac City, St. Ignace, Cheboygan, Petoskey). The Wildwood Lodge also has 6 kayaks and a paddle board available for use, which provided a lot of fun for all. Even though the water was cold, it didn't bother the children. They had fun swimming. Everything in the house is well maintained, including pots and pans, etc. We loved everything about the house and property!

25th Annual spring trail ride

We love this place, its is very well appointed for our group and the size varies from 7 -12 guys, plenty of beds, all rooms have their own bathroom, plenty of seating in the house and on the deck, the view is awesome, the kitchen has 2 ovens and 2 large refrigerators, which is very unique for a rental. This place is great for groups of this size and it is located very close to the Tomahawk motorcycle trail system, which works perfect for our group of guys

Snowmobile Trip

We had a large group stay at the lodge for our annual snowmobile trip. Everyone had their own bed, and every room has its own bath/shower! Great kitchen, as we cook all our breakfast and dinner on the trip. Nothing was needed, the lodge has it all! We will definitely consider staying here again! Thank you, the #snirtydozen

Family Perfect

We have an annual Christmas party with the extended family, and this was a great place! Bedrooms with bathrooms in each for every adult and their families! Good space - smaller kitchen than we are used to, but it was functional. Bring extension cords! An older home with limited outlets!

Perfect for our needs!

We were thrilled to find this very unusual property for our annual weekend getaway. You simply won't find another property that is on water and offers up 9 bedrooms each with their own private full bath. The setup was perfect for us. We spent a fair amount of time watching football, and there are two terrific TV viewing areas that seat 7-8 very comfortably. The kitchen is very good for cooking for a group with two ranges and two fridges, but only one in/out area makes it congested very quickly. The place was clean and tastefully decorated and they have a lot of cookware/dishes/utensils to service a large group easily. The fire pits were awesome (we used the small one every night) and there was a great supply of perfectly dried and split wood and a handy gorilla cart to tote it down to the pit. You can tell that the owners have really put thought into the amenities and they care about your experience. I did need to call the property manager after we checked in, and she called me back within 10 minutes and was very friendly and helpful. This is a great place and we will rent again next year.

Family friendly vacation lodge

We are a family group, ranging in age from 10 weeks to 74 years. We had a lovely week at the lodge. Enjoyed the private beach, and campfires on the island. We rented a pontoon boat and loved the easy lake access! We made lots of good memories. ❤️

Summer vacation at Wildwood Lake

This was our 20th year spending a week together as a family near water. We started with 10 adults and 2 grandchildren and now are 10 adults and 10 grandchildren. This was our second year at Wildwood. Good points are the number of bedrooms and restrooms. It does not impress at first look and is well used and functional. Tubing was excellent, but the beach area is not. Some real sand and cleaning up weeds and muck would improve it. We will likely be back next year.

Big House on Quiet Lake

We had a group of 24 (10 adults and 14 kids). There was plenty of room for everyone for both sleeping and eating (and lots of room for kids to eat outside). The lake was quiet and had tons of bluegill that even the little kids were successful in catching (regular earthworms). There is a small beach that also was great for kids. There is a bit of a hill down to the lake, but the higher setting also provides a great view (and you can see the beach from the main floor deck). A couple of things came up while we were there, and the host was very responsive. The location is somewhat remote and the immediately local stores are not that big, so I would recommend getting the major groceries on the way there and just grabbing anything you missed nearby. The remote location does mean that it was very quiet, which was nice for our large group. You can't really see the neighbors from anywhere in the property, so it is also very private. Overall we had a great experience and would recommend for a large group.

Why they chose this property

This is a cozy Lake Side Chelat hidden 10 minutes off I-75. Just enjoy the Day on the all sports lake with the family. We offer six kayaks and there is a public launch if you decide to bring or rent a water craft. Kids like to search and catch frogs and turtles or just jump of the dock and swim with a raft. In 2015 we put up a new swing set and dumped 30 yards of sandy beachfront. This is not just a rental property but what we call home when we are in the US and take care of it as such. Our goal is to make sure you are as happy and as comfortable as we are when we are home.

What makes this property unique

Perfectly located to visit near by towns, like Petoskey, Gaylord, Mackinac and Rodgers City are all roughly 30 minutes drive if you want to get out and explore the Northern tip of MI. Indian river is a 10 minute drive if you want to rent virtually any kind of outdoor utility vehicle or water craft. When you are done exploring you can come back to the quite lake of Wildwood and listen to the Loons calling and enjoy the sunset view. Cap of the evening with a bon-fire while staring at an umbrella of twinkling Northern stars when the moon is away.
