Quiet Property At The Foot of Glacier National Park
Thank you for stopping by!
The property is located approximately 15 minutes from both the St. Mary's & Many Glacier entrances of Glacier National Park. Located on the southeast side of Duck Lake with an incredible view of Chief Mountain and the Rocky Mountains. Duck Lake is a renowned "blue ribbon" trout fishery so bring your rod and remember to purchase the appropriate fishing license.
The house can accommodate up to 10 based on the follow: - Master Bedroom 1: Queen bed (Sleeps 2) - Futon Bedroom 2: Queen bed and futon couch (Sleeps 4) - Bunkbed Bedroom 3: Queen bed and Double/Single Bunk (Sleeps 5) - Pull out couch on the main floor living room if needed
Huge dining room table can seat seat a large group of 10-12. Sharing a big meal prepared in the fully equipped kitchen is a perfect way to come together at the end of long day hiking in the Park.
No need to worry about finding time for everyone to use the bathroom with 2 - 4 piece bathrooms (1 on each level).
For those nights that you are looking to just relax on the couch you can enjoy the record collection, any number of board/card games or a large DVD selection.
Looking to unplug??? This is the perfect place. While the property has a landline telephone there is no internet and limited cell reception.
Take your time driving in on the gravel road, it does have pot holes. Welcome to the wild west.
It is possible to have black fly hatches in the area in September. When they happen it affects all properties on the lake. If this is a no go, I would not recommend staying the East side of GNP in the fall.

We enjoyed the accommodations. Everything was clean and the house was very comfortable. The host was excellent to work with and the location was perfect for our needs.
Roomy cottage with close proximity to Glacier National Park. Beautiful views from back verandah. The gate to get into the cottage was an experience, but the amenities in the cottage were excellent.
One of the best views of anywhere we have stayed!! The house had everything we needed. It was secluded and private which was just what we needed. The fishing was great! We would definitely stay again!!
We absolutely loved our stay here! After a busy day in Glacier NP, we were able to enjoy all the wonderful things this place has to offer. Our kids loved kayaking and games. Spectacular views. Hosts are great, we look forward to staying here again someday.
Accommodating cabin on Duck Lake on the east side of GNP. Our group enjoyed the 3 BR/2BA cabin and quiet evenings on the lake where it was nice to "unplug". There was one issue during our stay but the owners were quick to respond to help remedy the situation.
Spacious cabin that slept 10 comfortably. Amazing view of Glacier from cabin and right on the shores of Duck Lake. White pelicans on the lake every night. Cabin faces sunset-stunning!
Family of five plus grandparents and brother had a great stay! We spent a lot of time in Glacier and it was great to have a close home base to stay. Fished, played board games and watched the horses in the evenings. Everything was as shown, very clean, plenty of towels, enough beds for all. Thank you so much!
A definite 5 star Vrbo rental! We absolutely loved our time at the beach house. Breathtaking sunsets, beautiful views, remote and relaxing. Our 5 year old loved kayaking and all of the toys available! Us adults enjoyed sunsets on the deck each night and even saw a bull moose on the lake! Absolutely stunning. Helpful and attentive owners too! Hope to be back.
We had a great time! The place was clean and comfortable & the view was great. Star gazing was probably our favorite. The road to get there is pretty rough, so be aware of that. We knew there was no internet or WiFi going in, but it did make things tricky with digital permits & checking weather etc. All in all it was a great trip. We enjoyed exploring Glacier & the house met our needs & also had a few extras we could use that were unexpected, like binoculars. Cattle Baron Supper Club is yummy!
Perfect getaway spot with prime access to Glacier N.P.
Just got back from a hiking trip with a group of friends. We stayed five nights in this cabin and in Duck Lake Loft next door and had an awesome time exploring Glacier and trying the different restaurants in the area. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets every day. The cabin is a little remote, but it's worth the effort to get there. I'm so glad we found this place! I'm hoping we can return soon.
Our family of 6 adults and 2 children loved every moment here! The host was super easy to communicate with and so incredibly nice. The cabin and area was a small slice of heaven. Plenty of room for a family with the best views. We couldn't wait to leave Glacier to get back to Duck Lake and enjoy the property. Clean, comfortable and relaxing. We played games, listened to music and spent as much time as possible on kayaks. Literally felt the tension melt away! Thank you for sharing this gem with us!
We could not recommend Valhalla View more highly. We had an incredible time during our 4 nights in this little slice of paradise. The views of the lake and mountains were stunning- especially at sunset. The house itself was well appointed; comfortable beds, ample dining room seating, plenty of paper goods, spices, kitchenware, spices, etc. Michael’s communication was great and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. We will be back again!
Amazing views on the lake near Glacier National Park
We enjoyed staying at this beautiful house on Duck Lake, with a view of the mountains in Glacier National Park (great view from living room and Master Bedroom upstairs). Perfect size for our family of five plus grandparents. Our teens enjoyed using the kayaks and paddlers on the lake. We enjoyed seeing the ground squirrels, mule deer, and even saw a smaller grizzly on the water’s edge one morning! It does take about a 10-15 minutes drive on a gravel road, opening/closing 2 gates, to get to the house, but still not too long of a drive to the Many Glacier area and St. Mary’s (Going to the Sun road). We would stay here again if visiting the east side of Glacier National Park!
We stayed 2 nights in this lovely little home with a great views. We were able to let our children kayak for the first time and enjoyed being unplugged for a few days! Road was a little rough but the home made up for it! Did not see any bears but there were tracks down by the lake. Owners provided a lovely little welcome gift of local beer and jam. I also ordered me so Nellie's washing powder because I loved it so much!
This place was so peaceful, and my boys enjoyed using the kid kayaks to go out on the lake. Close to Glacier National Park and Many Glacier area. Great view of the mountains. Very clean and comfortable house. The directions to the cabin were a little confusing so know what it looks like from the pictures to help guide you. Also in the material provided by the owner it was stated the check-in was 12 pm but it is 2 pm. Great stay though and we had tons of fun!
My husband and I rented this home for several nights on a recent trip to Montana/Glacier National Park. It was a wonderful place to stay and we loved every minute of it. The view was just beautiful and we loved the wildlife in that area. It is a little remote, which we loved, and we were glad to be unplugged as we really got to unwind, relax and appreciate the surroundings. The home itself is very clean, cozy and inviting. We found it comfortable and it met all of our needs. This home and our time there are truly highlights of our trip. Lastly, Michael was extremely responsive and great to work with. We were welcomed with beer and Twizzlers! Loved it!
We had an absolutely amazing time! The house and location are just magical and perfect for a visit to Glacier. Thank you so much for being such a great host!!
Michael’s cabin was absolutely amazing!! The views were breathtaking. No wifi, but that was no issue whatsoever. Between the Wii, records, kayaking, sitting on the back deck watching the sunset and stars, etc. there was plenty to keep us entertained after visiting Glacier National Park. Place was sparkling clean. Kitchen was fully equipped - we cooked dinner one night. Michael was such a gracious and generous host and communication with him was a breeze. Highly recommend Michael’s place!!

About the host

The Casella's - Sheila, Vicki and Bonnie - purchased the property in 2015 after spending a lot of time in Montana and falling in love with the state. Sheila is Vicki & Bonnie's mother and grandmother to their combined 5 children. Our group of 11 has fallen in love with Duck Lake and all that Glacier National Park has to offer. We recently decided we should share this experience with others when we are not able to use the property ourselves.
