Had a nice stay at this property, the neighbours are quiet, the house is well equipped with everything you need for cooking / cleaning and very close to free parking (which is a pain to find or far away from where you are in Plymouth sometimes) and the host was very helpful with problems.
The listing does not mention a train track at the end of the back garden or the bus stop out the front of the house which can be noisy at times. The beds were also a little uncomfy, but other than that it was a nice stay!

a good time
Really great stay overall. We left with some great experiences and memories but there were some points and issues we felt were important to comment on. Starting with the less positive, a previous visitor commented on the standard of hygiene and cleanliness of the property. On entry we found it to be as described in some reports, well equipped but a little dated in the decor, which we were accepting of, but there was a noticeable stale odour which was a little off putting initially.
While the kitchen diner was pleasant and looked clean, we found the oven had fairly large remnants of meals cooked by past visitors.
We found the front room badly lit and feel this is easily remedied, perhaps with one or two table or floor lamps which would significantly enhance the atmosphere of a potentially very pleasant and welcoming area of the property.
The TV and media definitely require updating to a reasonable standard for enjoyable viewing.
We have to say that while the neighbour next door was pleasant and polite they did not appear to be someone we felt we could ask too much of if we had really required some assistance and feel that it is helpful and reassuring to be met at the property and shown around a bit if possible.
The main concern we had was to discover on our first evening that the dining area's large window was damaged and unaligned with the frame. It was stuck open with quite a large gap. This meant we did not feel very secure particularly on the first evening when there was quite a large draught blowing the interior doors open.
On reporting this we were informed that the owner was already aware of the problem which was due to be fixed the following week. We did our best to block the gap with a throw the reduce the draught.
Despite these issues we were able to have a very enjoyable break here. The house was well equipped with good quality kitchen appliances fixtures, cooking equipment and comfortable dining areas. Views from some areas are stunning and we found the privacy and quiet beneficial. We appreciated and made the most of the nearby train station (approximately 5 minutes walk) making any driving unnecessary and enjoyable several trips to Plymouth centre Looe, Penzance and other areas.
There is a small pleasant garden with seating and a park very close by with plenty of seating and amazing views.
If the issues we have noted were addressed we would be very happy to return sometime.
The house is situated in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood. It's very clean inside. The kitchen is equipped with appliances, making it easy. Everything is thought out, very neat. I recommend it with all my heart for families and single people.
Property was true to label and offered everything we needed during our stay - close to town .
Parking was an issue due to limitations on street between 2pm and 6pm
We enjoyed our stay at the house. It was in a perfect location for what we needed. Exceptionally clean a bit dated but that added to its charm was a bit like my Mam's/grandma house.
3rd time at this property, it has everything you need for a self catering stay and there is very easy access to local bus services and trains making it easy to visit all local Plymouth attractions on the bus and to pop over to Cornwall by train...
Property was spotless, needs updating , but still very nice place to stay. Good location to shops, no parking available outside property you have to park on top of the street. It's about 10 min to drive to town centre. Enjoyed the stay, would go again. Have internet access that I found very useful.
A dated but clean property in a handy location for visiting Plymouth and the surrounding areas. Everything you would need in a holiday home was provided and although the decor was dated it was nostalgic and reminded me of my home in younger years. The property I thought was ideally situated for getting about, with a bus stop and a train station/platform very close by and a small corner shop all within easy walking distance. Parking outside the house is time limited but as stated in the information given there are spaces along the road at the top also within easy walking distance. Not to be put off, there is train line that runs behind the property but it did not affect the enjoyment of staying there as it was not noisy at all. Cleanliness of the property was good, the only points I could raise were that the grey floor carpet in the kitchen looked a little worn and there was a pink/blue stain on the back of one of the chairs in the sitting room. A suggestion from me would be that you had a little faults book that highlighted any issues that had been identified by visitors and future visitors would know what things had been reported and you as the owner were made aware of. Overall we enjoyed our stay and we would stay there again. Thank you.
Five stars for everything except the street car parking situation.
A lovely, comfortable welcoming holiday home that has everything and more supplied by the owner, Shirley. A garden to sit out in, a good location for sight seeing. A regular bus service virtually on the door step. I hope to return.
House was clean and tidy. Owner responded to all our queries quickly . Parking at front of property was a bit hard at times but space were there near to park
This is a great base from which to explore West Devon and Cornwall,. Driving it's 5 mins to the nearest supermarket, 15 minutes to the main A38 giving access to all of Cornwall and 5 minutes to the Torpoint car Ferry which provides less busy access to the beautiful Rame penisular and onward to Looe and the south Cornish resorts. there's a bus stop outside the front door which goes to Plymouth Centre and Keyham train station 10 mins walk away which links to Plymouth railway station and most SW rail links
The house was as described and very clean. and had everything you could want for a self-catering holiday. The only downside is that some of the furnishings looked a bit "old fashioned" but didn't impact on our enjoyment of the property.
I would have no hesitation in booking here again should we come down again.
Lovely house that suited our needs perfectly, with easy on-street parking right around the corner next to a park, as well as bus and train stops only steps away. Clean and comfortable, with good WiFi and amenities. Highly recommended.
