Wonderful Stay!

This was wonderful stay for myself and family!! The house was beautiful and very roomy. The lake and grounds offered the peace and serenity my family needed. The blemishes spoken about in other reviews were nothing to mention compared to all there is to enjoy! We will be back soon!!

Nice…but…

The house at one time it was absolutely beautiful. Beautiful location, beautiful property. House needs a little TLC but still is very comfortable and beautiful. (Doors and door jams have hard use and all heaters look like they need to be replaced. So I’m hanging off the walls. Others are rusty). worst of house was there was no large frying pan. Only two small ones. So making breakfast for seven people was hard with a skillet made for only an egg to fit into. Had to go to store and buy a big frying pan. Would go back to the house just know to bring cooking supplies that I would like to have.

Nice home

Beautiful property with great views of the lake. Understanding it was a dog friendly home is what sold this places for our family. However, the living room carpet has some obvious pup stains that might need to be addressed. If your a dog person, it’s nothing major, but probably should be addressed. With that said, interior was very clean, sheets and towels were plentiful. The exterior of the home needs some help, cobwebs all over the windows and patio. While waiting for our daughter in the drive way we found multiple hypodermic needles laying on the ground, I understand Oregons culture is different from Idaho, however we were shocked to find this at a location like this. The fish cleaning station was out of use, along with the outdoor gas fireplace down stairs and that was a major bummer. Overall the home was safe and secure.

Fun

The house and lake was wonderful. There are a few things that need to be fixed. The hot tub jets run all the time. When the lid is on, the temp goes up to 109 degrees. It takes two hours with the lid off to get back down to a safe temp. The downstairs master bathroom and the bathroom by the front door have toilets that have constant running water. The basement shower barely gets warm with the temp turned all the way to hot. Other than those things it was a great visit. Thank you

Nice but could be awesome

While dated this is an awesome house, location and views. We had a very enjoyable stay. Would easily be 5 star. The problems had been documented over several months but I figured they would have been addressed by the time we occupied the place. Issues include poor maintenance, pots and pans old and poor quality, rug stains, non functioning patio fire place. Check add on costs as advertised cost turned into a 50% cost increase per night. More than enough for owners to fix issues.

Great property! A few things to consider.

The rental process, checking in and communication ability was above and beyond. The house is beautiful and great. Though every day cleaning seems maintained, the house is due for some spring cleaning and maintenance attention. Some things to consider if you are bringing children...the stairs in the house are steep and are covered with the stone flooring. The property has lakefront access, including a dock, which is nice, unless you have young children that you'd like to play in the yard. A visually pleasing barrier addition would be great! I'd also add some kind of rock or stone surround the firepit, so as to bring attention to its location to prevent accidents. Though the hedge that lines the road side of the property adds privacy and beauty, it causes a hazard when exiting the driveway. That all being said, the lakefront view from most every room in the house is breathtaking and the location is amazing! Far enough off the beaten path to feel like you've escaped the busy life but still an approximate 5 minute drive to the outlet mall, store or restaurant. Overall, I really enjoyed this house and would definitely rent it again! Thank you foe sharing it!

Devils lake

Only complaint is the heat. We couldn't adjust it and it was cold in the mornings. We froze taking a shower in the master bath. Outside of that it was great

Great location but old furniture

Some of the couches have rips and tears you can see pee stains from animals and scratches on the doors. Some stuff could use upgrades.

Dusty and outdated

Overall a nice stay but not very clean and many scratches, nicks on paint and on the banisters. Super dust, pots and pans are cheap and old. The yard was way over grown..Great location, lots of room and so close to town.

FANTASTIC HOME FOR LOTS OF PEOPLE

We have stayed here two times now. We absolutely love the privacy and large living space that this house has. Families have their own sections of the huge house and BOY the views from every window of the lake are fantastic. It is hard to find a large place that will permit you to bring your little dog that is part of your family. It is kind of like a haunted old house. We do clean when we arrive. And bring our own coffee maker. Several things do not work and we couldnt -play our lawn games as the grass was not mowed and tall. Yes it has spiders, But all in all --- we LOVE this place and have a fantastic time and lots of memories every time we stay here. Oh and did I say it was close to the Beach and the Casino. The PEACEFULLNESS of this mansion is worth it all. Thank you very much.

Fall lake gathering

The house was really nice. As advertised on the site. The residence is a little worn- could stand some updates throughout. The heat was very slow to get the place up to temperature. Someone needs to have it checked. Besides that the views were great of the lake, the hot tub was excellent, and the common areas were really nice. The beds were comfortable and the water pressure was really good. Enjoyed the stay and would consider going back.

We always love this property! This was the first time we couldn’t use the lake.

This house is great! Big and beautiful! Dock is amazing for fun in the water! Our family enjoyed it, from our 80 year old grandmother to our 8 month old daughter. The only issue was the lake this time is experiencing some mucky green algae bloom. It’s pretty gross, which makes it hard to do all the fun water sports you plan to do at this house. Unfortunately, we couldn’t use the kayak we brought, couldn’t drive our toy boats in the sludge, and definitely couldn’t pull the kids on the raft. We still had fun making s’mores on the fire pit, driving 10 mins to play at the beach, enjoying meals in the beautiful big family room/kitchen, and relaxing in the spacious home.

Great spot

Very large house with lots of indoor and outdoor space for our larger group. The inside was clean - some prior reviews had me worried but I thought the cleaning crew did a great job aside from a few cobwebs here and there. There are 4 bedrooms but the downstairs living room with pool table also has a pullout couch and a door, so this can act as a 5th bedroom. We really enjoyed the decks, BBQ, fire pit and dock. The built-in fireplace island under the deck was not functional but we still had wood fires and s'mores in the fire pit so not a big loss for us. Hot tub was a hit as per usual and worked well. The dock was large and sturdy, easy to store our boat and a few kayaks. Very private lot with no close neighbors except some ducks and deer. Only negative was lots of spiders and spiderwebs on the exterior railings and decks, otherwise no complaints and would stay again!

Great Lake House

Our family girls' trip was a huge success at this beautiful lake home. We loved playing pool and card games in the dining room. A great home for large groups. (or just 6 of us) We also brought kayaks and the dock had perfect water access for them.

Don't take the risk!!!

Prior reviews warned of the condition, but since we have stayed in older places before, we decided to take the risk. On one condition, several other reviewers stated there was no heat and the thermostats could not be controlled. I messaged the host and was assured that we would be able to control the heat on the thermostats, so I booked it. Once we arrived, we noticed that was indeed NOT the case. A name and number was left on the refrigerator of the local property manager for that location, but when I tried to call her, her voicemail was full and would not take any new messages. So I called the customer service number for the property management. I was then told that the heat in the house is not properly working so we would have to use the space heaters provided in each room. Which seems like a major safety hazard not to mention it just isn't practical. The plug on the space heater in the game room burned your hand when unplugging after being used. Plus the house never registered higher than 65 degrees with the use of the heaters. You can tell that the house was built with care and high end materials back in it's day, which are just outdated currently. But overlooking the lack of updating is easy. However, all the decor was garish and had not been dusted in most likely years. Large floral and grass displays, vases, and other decor was up high on shelves and covered thickly in dust and cobwebs. There were stains on the sheets, the carpet behind an end table had vomit from some animal that had stayed there before that was not cleaned up. The pull down blinds were broken and stained. And cobwebs were everywhere, inside and out. It was so sad to see such a once beautiful home be so neglected.

Beautiful

Absolutely beautiful home. Lots of room for our guests and a great view of the lake from the bedrooms. The kitchen wasn’t as well stocked as we would have liked but there was enough to get by. The thermostat was locked when we arrived and we were finally able to get a hold of someone who told us the boiler was broken. We were provided with space heaters which, unfortunately, weren’t quite enough to keep us warm the first night. But we made due. Also, there was a pretty serious leak under the kitchen sink. Aside from that we really enjoyed our stay and will most likely be back.

No heat, broken sink, difficult communication

I am not new to booking vacation homes. For the price, I hoped this home would be a comfortable experience for myself and my friends, many of whom traveled across the country. Long story short, two hours before arrival we were informed the heat in the house was not working. It is March at the Oregon Coast, temps got down to low 30s in the evenings. They provided 4 small space heaters for the entire three level home, and we had people sleeping in beanies and coats. You would think that given this situation, they would have been easy to work with and made themselves available, but that was not the case. We were able to remedy the situation in the end through Vacasa and I am so appreciative of their help. The property is beautiful, I just wish the owners had been more prepared and easier to work with.
