This lovely little gem is located in Powder Horn Mountain. Renters have access to the outdoor community pool during the summer months as well as hiking trails, clubhouse, fitness center, tennis, campground, fishing, paddle boating, and more. The house is a great getaway, located just a few hours from Charlotte, Greensboro, Winston Salem, and Raleigh. The home is furnished with a good supply of kitchen amenities and of course all linens are provided. There is a wood burning fireplace. Please bring your own firewood. The master has a view and a king bed. The second bedroom is on the front of the house and has a twin and one set of bunk beds. Please bring your movies with you this house has antenna TV for local viewing and a library of movies. The house does have a VERIZON GATEWAY device and is good for streaming, emails, and wifi calling. This house is the absolute getaway. PETS are $50 PER PET and charged separately after your initial booking. Please make note of any pets when you book.

Took us about 30 minutes to Boone or Blowing Rock and the entrance to parkway was nearby. The management company was very responsive and gracious. So sorry the hurricane has affected their area but am sure they will be back on track soon.

Great relaxing weekend

This spot was perfect for us. We just wanted a nice, quiet cabin in the mountains' to relax. Great property. Swimming pool on site, hiking trails, 20 mins to Boone. Susan was a great host. We Loved it.

Great visit!

The cabin was perfect for 3 adults. It was very clean upon check in. Everything we needed in the kitchen was exactly what we needed to make meals. The screened in deck was so nice and peaceful. A/c was wonderful as it was very warm when we visited and kept the cabin cool. We were blessed with seeing deer and wild turkeys and their babies on the side yard. Boone and West Jefferson were a short trip away but we enjoyed most of our days were spent relaxing at the cabin. Susan, the property mgr was quick to answer any questions. Cant wait to book another stay!

Great mountain stay

Wonderful stay at Horseshoe Haven!

I had a wonderful stay at Horseshoe Haven in October 2023. The house was very clean and welcoming. Ms. Chaney, the property manager, was excellent with answering any questions that I had and with overall prompt, helpful communication. Right now I am imagining being back at Horseshoe Haven, relaxing on the fabulous screened-in porch that looks into the woods and mountains. A++!! Highly recommended.

lovely cabin in the mountains

My husband, daughter and I (plus our two dogs) came for my son's first App State family weekend and it was perfect for the weekend. The cabin was lovely, clean and well equipped. Tucked into Powder Horn Mountain and a bit of a drive to get to but we knew that going in so no surprise. Just wish there was more of a view of the mountains from the beautiful screened in porch.

We did have an issue with the Wi-Fi on our first night, but it seemed to fix itself the next day. The neighbors and the gate attendant were all incredibly friendly. We never used the pool house, so cannot speak to that, but the waking paths were awesome. Would recommend for a nice, quiet stay.

Great Break in Nature

Reviewer Comments: We're Airbnb hosts ourselves, and have enjoyed marvelous stays at numerous Airbnb bookings.That said, 30 min after we arrived, unpacked the car and settled on the screened porch, we knew that Horseshoe Haven (and the entire Powderhorn community) was exactly what we had been looking for, and we only wished we'd booked a longer stay. We also didn't realize just how much we really needed the down time, to truly be away from it all, until we looked at each other over our coffee on the porch our last day, and almost in unison said, "how 'bout we just stay put again today (instead of making the short drive to town as we'd planned). Horseshoe Haven was very clean, comfy, so quiet and peaceful, and well stocked with everything we needed for our stay. It has been years since we've been able to slow down enough in the evening to do something as simple, engaging and pleasant as playing cards or a board game, which we took turns choosing each evening for our nightly porch sitting - perfect endings to our fabulously leisurely days. Thank you, Susan, for sharing your haven with us.
