Very disappointed. Was not clean upon arrival. Dog hair on couch and beds (was not pet friendly so this was odd). Crumbs all over couch. Porches are very poorly maintained, on top floor porch several pieces are very lose so we didn’t let our kids out there. Dead bugs on bedroom curtains. Dust all over, including in corners of rooms and nightstands. We’ve been going to OBX for 6 years and have never stayed somewhere that we were this disappointed in. Only positive to this rental was how close we were to the 4x4 beach, which only gives out 300 permits this year. We were told owners knew this and were to provide them, we didn’t have one and when we called to asked the realty company said they had no idea about this. When in fact I spoke to SEVERAL other renters and their owners provided them with one, so it was common knowledge I feel. Parking isn’t great. You can’t use the covered part because they have stuff there. You can’t park under the tree because limbs are not taken care of so it scratched our roofs and sides of vehicles. No front porch light, we didn’t like this because coming home from dinner was a little dangerous with the children we had. Not sure if all this is a owner problem or realty company problem, but needs looked into. Especially the cleanliness. We had to sweep when we arrived and honestly probably left it cleaner than when we arrived and no one wants dead bugs on their curtains. Over all, we were highly disappointed and can only rate the location a 5.
