The unit is lovely and everything you need is there. The host included thoughtful everything from an umbrella to an ironing board. Communication with the owner worked well. The check-in person spoke only French(we were after all in France) but was very good at getting the essentials communicated. It is a lovely but probably the oldest Building you will ever have stayed in. Keep that in mind and guests with walking disabilities might think twice, but I broke a bone 4 weeks before and did fine. You cannot plan life completely ever ... Paris is wonderful and it is very accessible from this location. The stairs were no problem for me( 60 and broken foot). Things break and every human needs time to fix things that is life. The main thing is friendly and helpful people
My experience was overall great. The location can't be beat, on Île de la Cité, just two short blocks from Notre Dame. The stairs were fine, only 2-1/3 stories up. I used and appreciated many of the apartment's amenities, including the washing machine, the steam iron, and kitchen dishes, corkscrew, etc. One negative is the age and bumpy quality of the sofa bed. Because I was by myself, I was able to twist around and find a comfortable angle for myself. Pietro, do us all a favor and invest in a futon sofa that slides into a platform futon bed. Such current designs are far more comfortable than the old sofa bed designs. It's time for an upgrade!
This compact studio apartment, a steep third floor walkup in a building from the 1500s, is ideal for independent go-getters. We were given a brisk, friendly briefing by the rental manager to get us oriented, then we Googled how to use the induction stove, microwave grill and washer. The living room is bright, with windows on the Seine, a courtyard and the neighbouring street. Don’t let the quirky floor angles, the few cracked tiles or other stuff get to you; you are literally steps from the Seine, a 6 minute walk from Metro and a 4 minute walk from the Notre Dame reconstruction. It’s a fantastic base for exploring the very centre of Paris!
