I checked into this property and only stayed for 4 hours of an 8 day stay. When I arrived, the room temperature was at 86 degrees and it would not cool down even on the lowest setting, because the AC was a window unit that they had installed in the wall! Also the TV didn’t work from the time that I arrived. Despite repeated calls to the owners, no one ever showed up to fix it. Due to the condition of the property, I asked the owner if I could get at a least a partial refund, and they refused to even answer me. Very disappointed with this VRBO experience.
It is small, but well-equipped. Before you take a shower, run the warm/hot water for a while as it does take time to heat up.
I would recommend that the property manager provide paper plates, plastic utensils, and plastic cups instead of "real" dinnerware for easier clean up. I did need to contact the owner by text and was answered promptly. No complaints.

Smaller than I expected
I guess it's hard to judge size by the photos. It was very tight moving around with my husband and me. We were there for 4 nights and managed fine. Barn door on bathroom does not offer much privacy.

Location description
Property surrounding were abandoned looking and bed didn't have any blankets had to bring my own and TV couldn't hook nothing to watch more channels were very limited other than that it was quite and PEACEFUL
The location of the unit is great, very convenient to the downtown area and a short drive to everything. We did not have issues with the neighboring bar and grill disturbing us. Parking was good
We decided to do this property instead of a hotel while we were in town for a family reunion. The main property has a lot of damage because of the hurricane but our place was not effected, other than outside appearance. It was an adorable and clean place to stay for two adults. I would love to see the entire property after they are able to clean it up and get it back to its original state. The area was nice to be in and close to a lot of things. The one downfall is there’s a bar close so you could occasionally hear some music, but not often and it was easily blocked out by the air/fan or the tv.
Cute little place, with all the necessary amenities for a weekend getaway. Very centrally located! Nice little neighborhood to walk your dog around too. This unit is attached to three other rentals, I believe, so you may see and hear other guests while your there too.
Needed a place to stay for me and my dog while visiting family. Needed a last minute reservation and the host was very accommodating. Was in a perfect location for me, really close to downtown. If you’re looking for something a little more than a hotel, it’s a great spot. And the owner was very responsive. Still some damage from Laura around the property but that’s to be expected. Overall a great stay.
This charming little studio was just one block from historic downtown Lake Charles. Close to food, parks, and easy access to freeways. Would stay again!! (The only thing missing were cleaning supplies and paper goods to use for meals. There was one plate and one set of utensils but no way to wash them. I stayed 8 days/7 nights and would've loved to be able to sweep the floors)
Linens were stained. Shower flooring looked fungused. The refrigerator about knocked you out with the smell that came out of it and then lingered in the room. Did not stay one night out of the 3 night scheduled. Went to a hotel.
I would stay again if I'm ever in Lake Charles! Great little studio , just perfect for our needs!
The studio pictured was not the one we stayed in, but it did not really matter, ours was behind the one pictured, more cozy and secluded. We liked ours much better!!!
