Cedar Creek Sanctuary. 3br on Nat. Forest Land. Outdoor adventure basecamp.
Welcome to our sanctuary! Our beautiful home is on 5 acres located within Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Set on Cedar Creek and surrounded by natural beauty, this home is forested and private yet only 10 minutes from Carson Hot Springs and Backwoods Brewing in downtown Carson. Waterfalls and many hiking trails within a 15 minute drive. Or just stay home and stargaze. This home is very special to us and we would love to share its beauty with you!
This home has a fully stocked kitchen with everything you need to enjoy your stay. There are three bedrooms. The bedroom downstairs has a California King bed and the two upstairs have queen beds. Note: one of the bedrooms upstairs is very private but does not have a door separating it from the hallway that leads downstairs. See photos. Smart TV has all apps (Netflix, Hulu, Prime, etc) so you have full access with your own account. The house has a beautiful porch overlooking Cedar Creek and acres of National Forest land. Enjoy the creek and forest views and sounds while BBQing on the porch. There is Wifi at the house although at times it can be slow at times since it is a secluded property. There is no cell service at the house. This is a kid friendly home with a Pack n Play (with mattress and sheet), and kids toys/books.
This house is located in a secluded part of Carson at the end of a dead end street. Carson is a charming little town with a brewery (which also has great food!), two coffee shops and a general store. Carson Hot Springs is also located in town. 10 minutes from downtown Carson is Stevenson, WA with even more breweries, restaurants, etc to enjoy.

My coworkers and I have stayed at the Cedar Creek Sanctuary twice this year while working in the Gifford Pinchot. Anastasia is a great host and responds to messages promptly. The house is well stocked with all of your necessities. We enjoy relaxing in the large living room playing Wii and watching movies together. The close proximity to our work site and WiFi make this an ideal location for us and we will certainly return for more stays in the future!
House was very comfortable. The mattresses were very comfortable. Mini split heat pump system is excellent at maintaining the temperature you want. But for those looking for a picturesque creek this place has it. The clear running water with a river rock bed and larger exposed rocks is stunning.
This was my first time renting a b&b, and it couldn't have gone better! everything was just how it said it was. The house and property were absolutely beautiful. Our host even made sure that my 4-year-old grandson had plenty of toys to play with while inside, and mother nature made sure to provide entertainment while outside. My whole family lives in city, so being out in the woods seeing the wildlife, listening to the crickets, and actually seeing the stars were much needed. Thank you Anastasia and family for letting us stay in your home!
This home is well loved, and it shows. The house is very clean, beds cozy, kitchen stocked with supplies. We popped a breaker during out stay and we reached out to the home owner who had someone out to the house within 30 min to things back on track. Also, for having incredibly busy schedules this place, off the beaten path forced us to slow down and breath. My kids loved the creek but the loved Manopoly more. Ha! Thank you! We will most likely be back next year!
We wanted a nature-filled getaway and we got it! The house was very secluded at the end of a cul-de-sac with the neighbors spaced far away.
We went during a very hot weekend (in the 90s) and we were concerned about the lack of central AC. There is one AC unit in the living room with a ceiling fan and another in the upstairs bedroom with no door, which also has a ceiling fan. The other 2 bedrooms did not have AC, but the other upstairs bedroom had a ceiling fan. Anastasia was very receptive to our concern and offered to reimburse us if we bought a fan and left it. We luckily didn’t need to do that as after the first night with the AC running the temp in the house dropped and we were comfortable.
There was a great selection of books and games, as well as a Roku TV. The kitchen has plenty of pots and pans and the refrigerator has water and ice. We had an issue with very large black ants in the house coming in through the dishwasher and next to the stove, most likely due to the heat, but it was pretty isolated and didn’t cause too many issues.
The creek across from the house was a great place to put your feet in, and the kids “invented” creek paddle boarding with the snow boogie boards. The hiking path outside the house was very overgrown and we were only able to go about 0.25 miles in before we couldn’t see a real path anymore. The house is located within 15-30 minutes of so many excellent waterfall hikes, too!
Overall, it was a beautiful area and provided a wonderful place for our family to escape to nature and still feel the comforts of home. We would definitely rent again!
Our family of 5 had a wonderful time at the cabin. It was super clean and had everything we needed for our 5 day stay. Anastasia was so fast to respond to my questions and she was so friendly. Our kids (4, 6 and 7) had an amazing time exploring the creek and trail and it was a nice surprise to find a chest of toys in the living room! There was even a small toddler bed upstairs that was perfect for my youngest. We went on lots of adventures in the area during our stay and the cabin was a perfect launching off point. We were far enough out to feel really remote and relaxed, but it was really just a short drive to town and so many amazing adventures. Definitely hope to come back!
Nice House, Nice Nieghborhood, Not Quite Water Front
We stayed during the record breaking heat wave so were a bit lethargic about getting out and about. The two mini-split AC units were able to keep the cabin quite comfortable even in this extraordinary heat though the cool air was uneven between rooms. We used two box fans, one downstairs and one upstairs to distribute the cooler air.
The cabin was comfortable and well stocked with supplies. The neighborhood is quiet and very private. On the down side, it was not "water front" nor really "water view". Maybe a bare glimpse of the creek but you are not on top of it. The creek is across the road and behind a large shed. This is where the kids can play but that spot is not in view of the house and we had to wade through knee high weeds to get there. There is a kids' swing and slide set but it too was overgrown with weeds.
So overall, pretty nice but not quite what we were expecting.
The house is amazing, the landscape gorgeous, the kitchen very well fittet. Only small problem: When we entered, there was an unpleasant , mouldy smell, which eventually dissipated when all the windows were open.
The communication was perfect, the owner also was very helpful wih the propane issue of the grill.
I am a composer, the place was perfect for inspiration - I will come back.
The house had everything we needed and it was very comfortable for our family of four. It is in a secluded area, with neighbors out if sight. We enjoyed sitting on the deck in the sunshine and listening to the sound of the creek. It was also a fairly close drive away to lots of hikes that picked our interest.
It’s a quiet area and a nice house. The kitchen is missing some essentials like spatulas but it’s otherwise a good place to stay. The downstairs bedroom does not have air conditioning.
This property was amazing! The house was wonderful with a well stocked kitchen. The owners were great and we were able to check in early, which was very helpful coming from remote camping.
My 5-year old loved the play structure and playing in the stream. We found it incredibly peaceful and relaxing. We plan to come back and stay again.
We definitely recommend this house and location!
This cabin was a fantastic Base Camp for our week of outdoor adventures including biking and hiking. The cabin had everything thing we needed to relax after long days outside. The creek was the best place to sit in some cold water on a hot day. We'll be back next summer!
The house was very spacious, comfortable and accommodating. the kitchen was well stocked For cooking. Steps away from creek access, our three children absolutely loved playing in the creek all day. The icing on the cake was the gorgeous hike that was accessible from the backyard.
This was a great rental! It had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The surroundings were beautiful and the porch was a lovely place to have drinks and dinner. Our kids loved playing in the creek. We would definitely rent again!
My husband and I had a relaxing trip. Very secluded (only one house in partial view and we didn't see anyone there), hiking path was a benefit as many nearby trails closed due to COVID. Master bed very comfortable and kitchen well appointed. Porch with grill was incredible. Thanks for sharing!
