Easy check in process. Melanie was very attentive and communicated well with me. Our group had 2 young girls who LOVED the double bed room. Felt like princesses. Easy walk to downtown (30 mins or so). Nice surrounding neighborhood.
Location close to Assiniboine Park and not far from downtown. What’s convenient for our family with lots of parking. House had all the amenities we needed. Including some games. Good size bedrooms very comfortable. Beds would recommend.
Melanie was an ideal host. She was very easy to communicate with and dropped by to ensure we were doing ok. The property is super-clean, bedrooms are nice with comfortable beds, and nice area for hanging out (with a Scrabble game!). The neighborhood is nice to stroll around and it's a short walk to the Croydon area.
Highly recommended!
Perfect for our group of 5 adults and one toddler. Lots of space; comfortable beds. Triple glazed windows really minimize the traffic noise. Our visit was centered around Downtown and River Heights so the location was very good for us. We had the use of a car so no problem getting around - might be more challenging if relying on public transportation.
Great place to stay in Winnipeg! Highly recommend! Location is great. Parking for two vehicles, well equipped kitchen and lots of space for relaxing. It was perfect for our girls reunion. And those beds!! So very comfortable! Quality all around. Thank you for the great stay.
The house was a great central location for visiting with family while celebrating a birthday. We appreciated the extremely comfortable beds and were amazed the house even has a steamer which came in handy with our dress clothes.
Cannot say enough good things about the property AND owners. The house is extremely well though out. The beds are comfortable, the linens are lovely. There is literally everything one could ask for. Kitchen it well supplied - 2 kinds of coffee makers! Great ‘space’ - there were 5 adults & we each had our own bed! And there is a great living room to relax in. Plenty of TV’s which we barely turned on!
Melanie & Derek go beyond what is expected. Got many excellent suggestions for restaurants, pubs and places to see. And Derek met us at the house initially to get us set-up. Other than it being colder than we expected it was a GREAT trip and it was lovely to have a cosy warm house to come home to!!
In town for a family reunion, the Academy was a great fit for us. It had everything we needed. The beds were really comfortable, the bedrooms spacious and the laundry room a bonus. We found it pretty centrally located in Winnipeg- close to shops, restaurants and the water bus that took us to the Forks. The fact that it was only ten minutes from the airport was super convenient as we had family flying in and out at different times throughout the week. All in all, it was a great stay.
Melanie and Derek have put together a wonderful 'home' . It's a truly amazing place: clean, user friendly, great beds, plenty of space for your family and to gather with friends and family.
