Puget Sound/Mtn Sunrise View - NO CLEANING FEE- *PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION *

Situated on 2+ acres, this "attached guesthouse" offers stunning sunrise views of Hat Island, Puget Sound, and the Cascade Mountains. Relax on your private deck with morning coffee or a bottle of wine from one of Whidbey Islands award winning wineries. We are a 5 min walk to Comforts of Whidbey winery and a 5 minute drive to the seaside village of Langley, filled with fantastic restaurants and charming shops. This property is a perfect couples getaway. Your privacy is our top priority.

First Light is a non-smoking property. We have a no pets and shoes-off policy and no children under the age of 12.

IMPORTANT- if for any reason you need to cancel, YOU MUST CANCEL YOUR OWN RESERVATION. Simply pull up your VRBO account and cancel your reservation directly through VRBO prior to the “no fee cancellation period” of 14 days. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this causes. If you are unable to cancel within the timeframe of 14 days prior to your stay, contact me directly and we can arrange for you to “reschedule “ but I will be unable to provide a refund.

*This guesthouse is designed for two guests only. If you wish to include a third guest you MUST obtain permission from the host and an additional charge will be collected at check-in per person, per night. Please, NO parties.

The guesthouse bedrooms are located on the second floor. The rooms are well appointed but please be aware that the ceiling height on the 2nd floor is 6’-8” and therefore is not recommended for individuals over 6’-5”. The master bedroom has a stunning view and is spacious and very comfortable.
The eat-in kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and the deck offers dining and lounging areas. Deer are frequent visitors and eagles nest nearby.
During March and April keep an eye out for whale watching boats. Gray whales spouting can often be seen.
The living room has a TV with cable and access to Netflix and HBO. There are books, games and puzzles as well as binoculars at your disposal.
There is a fire pit (upon request) with plenty of fire wood, when burn bans are not in place.
Although your privacy is important to us, we are available to answer questions or make recommendations on activities and restaurants.

Excellent hospitality

Mary and Mark were amazing hosts. They provided us with so many great tips on the local area and were so kind. The property itself was lovely with every possible amenity and comfortable beds. They even provided coffee! The views from the property are unparalleled, and we loved sitting on the deck watching the water. We are definitely planning to come back for a longer stay.

absolutely beautiful, relaxing

A beautiful location, cannot be beaten with the view of the ocean and bay outside on the green space where deer come frequently, lists if hummingbirds. Your own private sanctuary if you will, a deck with privacy, plenty of seating for meals and relaxing. off the quiet road where there is a trail to the beach( can be a little challenging for some). The private accommodations are well stocked, comfortable, clean, modern, well ventilation with windows that are easily opened as needed. The host was very accommodating with information for the local area including a hiking guide which greatly appreciated.

Dreamy getaway

This was a wonderful property for a weekend getaway from Seattle. It has an amazing view, is very clean and has an extremely comfortable king bed. There's a second bedroom with two more beds for kids that we didn't use. Although the property is attached to the host's main home, the unit is very private. I would book again!

Almost Heaven

What a view! None better! You will not find better hosts than Mary and Mark! We visit yearly for a little rest and relaxation. Plenty on the island to explore. However, nothing better than sitting on the deck, watching the wildlife, the sunrise and the sunset!

Fantastic Hosts and House with a beautiful view

This is truly a special location and the hosts are truly special too. We loved the Comforts Winery. We enjoyed hanging out in Langley and exploring the South end of the island. We walked at Useless Bay at low tide and explored Saratoga Woods Trails. We also did the beach walk near the house with the steep stairs with the ropes included for safety. The hospitality was must appreciated including the wine and homemade muffins. We look forward to returning frequently because we both love "island time" and this is a perfect spot to unwind and relax.

Relaxing and private stay

The guesthouse is exactly as pictured. Property is well maintained with beautiful views over the water. Kitchen was well stocked with pantry basics: spices, salt and pepper, olive oil, tea/coffee. Owner even left chocolate chip cookies, which was a sweet touch..

Beautiful Serenity

An absolutely amazing location, cottage and hosts. The perfect getaway from the city life. The view was breathtaking and the cottage was just gorgeous! The host met us on arrival and made is feel right at home. It couldn’t have been a nicer place to relax and celebrate a 40th birthday! Highly recommend this to anyone!

Third of many

This was my third stay at this wonderful vacation rental (once solo and twice with my husband) and before we left we were planning our next visit. We spent time sitting outside enjoying the view, the quiet, all the animals and loved walking around the neighborhood. My husband fell in love with sitting on the deck happily warmed by the electric blanket. We prepared breakfast and lunch at the house, but ate dinner in town each night. How fabulous to have such great dining so close in town with a short drive back to again relax and enjoy the view. Don't hesitate to stay here. We certainly will be back as soon as our schedule allows!

Perfect for 2

First Light is a comfortable and scenic home away from home with wonderful access to the town of Langley. My wife and I were warmly greeted when we arrived. The accommodations were well stocked with everything we needed to prepare our meals and the king size bed was very comfortable. The main bedroom upstairs has a lovely view and we had deer and rabbits outside our window at times.

Our hosts, Mary and Mark, made us feel at home. The entire place seemed new and clean. The kitchen was supplied with everything imaginable, the bed was super comfortable, the water pressure and heat were perfect, and of course the location and view were spectacular.

Incredible Stay

Mary and Mark are such wonderful people! Their guesthouse is quiet, private, and very clean! The special touches they provided were so sweet. We felt so relaxed and welcome!
