Beautiful, roomy beach house! Great view and easy access to the beach. Comfortable beds.Kitchen well stocked. All linens including beach towels provided. Outdoor grill was dirty and no propane but owner assured me that was an oversight by the cleaning company. Only real negative was the mosquitoes but that couldn’t be helped with all the rain we’ve had.
We had such a great stay with family. The house is beautiful and peaceful with great views. It was a short walk to the beach which was very manageable with kids. We loved that there were toys and beach toys for the kids to play with too. Very family friendly!
The house was good other than it was very dirty and had lots of dead bugs. It needed a very good wipe down before guests stayed in it. Otherwise it was good. Easy walk to the beach. I do suggest to bring a ton of bug spray. The misquotes were awful. I do suggest that the check out process be available prior to the day of check out. We didn’t receive the email with instructions until morning of and we like to prepare the night before if asked to wash and fold towels. We leave early so we were not able to complete this task.
We stayed for a week in August. My wife, our 21 year old daughter and her roommate, our 16 Year old son and his girlfriend, and our 14 year old daughter. We have stayed in a dozen or so beach houses over the years and we all agreed that his was the cleanest we have ever stayed in. Jet was easy to get ahold of if we had any questions. Lots of room for everyone. Deck was nice. We rented a golf cart (rent as early as possible) and spent most of our days on the beach. Set up camp early and stayed until the sun went down. The house is close enough that we could all walk back and forth all day. We brought two vehicles and i drove my truck down to haul everything to the beach. A canopy tent and a folding table are a must. Went into Galveston twice kids all went to Schlitterbahn. I grew up in Corpus Christi and in my opinion the beach and water are better than North Padre. Less seaweed. Overall just a really good trip.
This is the second time we have stayed at this house and it was just as great as the first. Its walking distance to the beach and has a decent few of the water without being beachfront. Its perfect for a quick family getaway.
Love this house! It is filled with toys so the kids love it. The kitchen is equipped so we are able to cook our meals easily. It’s a quiet neighborhood. Overall, it’s ideal for what we need.
Cabin was a perfect fit for our group. Great location. The cabin mentions sleeps 10 but it sleeps 8. The bedroom with the bunk, the bottom that pulls out had toys in it and no mattress.
My family of 5 had a great week at the beach. This home is new, clean, and is located near the beach access. Be sure to reserve a golf cart months in advance from a local rental place because they are booked up if you wait until arrival. I do wish the house had internet. Other homes in the neighborhood have internet which would have made my life a lot easier to keep up with work. The front door sticks and the shower in the master suite leaks are the only issues we had (which were not a big deal but could be easily addressed). The property has a great living room and the bedrooms were nice. My kids enjoyed the bunk beds and large sectional. We will consider staying here again in the future for sure.

Just okay for us. Several issues with some we could ignore and others we couldn’t.
1) Dishwasher was broken. It worked only one time for us when my dad worked to try to fix it (after 20 min of working on filter and pushing buttons)
2) Need more Dish towels in kitchen as there were only 2. At least 4 would be helpful.
3) No Whisk in kitchen
4) No Trash cans in bathrooms which at first seemed like not a big deal, but became a problem… and they are $2 at Walmart
5) No Hand soap in bathrooms
6) More glass bowls in kitchen would be good. I only found one that I could put a side dish in.
7) Sand in the barstool cushions. There was so much sand there, you would have to dust off your rear when you stood up.
8) Ice maker gets jammed real easy and won’t keep making ice. We cleaned it out twice, with no luck.
9) More TP and paper towels would be nice. Glad we brought some… but one roll of paper towels for 10 people ran out in a day and a half…. Mainly cause there weren’t enough hand towels in kitchen.
10) Toilet paper holder falls off in main bathroom. I saw this has been an issue in pst reviews and obviously still hasn’t been fixed.
11) Drain in master shower backs up so you stand in water. Gross.
12) No tongs or grill spatula
13) No 9x13 pan
14) No hammock though I though I saw this on the pictures of front porch.
15) Front door hard to close and door knob feels like it’s about to break and on outside, is pulling out of door socket.
The property was great. Very clean and decorated well. Close to the beach (3 minute walk). The host responded quickly to messages and accommodated a last minute change to our reservation. We would stay at the property again.
The house was extremely clean and nicely appointed. Kitchen had all utensils, pans, and basic spices with a traditional coffee maker. The master bed was comfortable. There's not WiFi but that didn't bother us since we were on vacation. It's a great location for us because it's a more low key area of the beach. Theres not beach access by car/truck in the subdivision but there is golf cart access to the beach. There were a couple of questions we had and the owner was quick to respond within 5 minutes. We would definitely rent this beach cabin again.
The house had a great view of the beach, the place looked cute, and they had a lot of great things for us to use at the beach. We were also super close to the beach so I highly recommend this house if you want a super short walk! Unfortunately there were a few things not great. The house really needed a deep clean, the guest bathroom was a little gross and the floors had a layer of sand on them when we got there. Also the same bathroom needs some work, the curtain rod was about to fall off. I was worried it was going to fall down while we used it and the toilet paper holder also fell apart every time we used it as well.
Like I said, the house had a cute vibe to it and I LOVED how close it was to the beach.
We really enjoyed this beautiful beach house! It was the perfect long weekend getaway for our family. The house is as pictured, well stocked and very comfortable. As others have mentioned, there is no Wifi. This didn’t bother me, but was a little difficult for my husband who was trying to work a bit while on vacation. Regardless, we had a wonderful time and are looking forward to returning to Sugar Sands!
