This was a fantastic location for a family trip. It's close to the beach and hiking but also right in town for all the conveniences. We would 100% stay again!
We were in Ironwood for a family reunion and this beautiful house was perfect for our large family. Everything was as described in the listing. Clean and comfortable!
This is a beautiful, well maintained home with lots of space for a family. The location was great for exploring Black River Harbor, Copper Peak and even the Apostle Islands (a little over an hour drive).
We came to Ironwood with our children and grandchildren. The house was the perfect size for us and it was so clean! Celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary over the weekend. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!! Hope to make it back there sometime. Would definitely stay again!
We had a need for a place to stay on short notice for a large group of people and this place definitely met our needs. We loved the place and will definitely stay here again when we are back this summer!
The house was clean and a great space. The rooms are large and great for younger kids and the whole family. Close to many great sights. We really had a good time.
This was a fantastic vacation! The house was even better than the pictures. It was very clean and comfortable. The host helped us find a mechanic to fix our unexpected car problems. She also helped ship a few items we left behind. Such a great experience!
Everything about our stay was perfect! The home was centrally located to all the events in which we were participating. The ski hills and ABR are only minutes away. There was ample parking for all vehicles. The home was comfortable, clean, and well equipped. The owners were easy to contact and the driveway was plowed quickly. We had a wonderful weekend and would not hesitate to book again!
very clean, well situated property. Total of 6 stayed at the property (family of 4 + in-laws) and everyone had plenty of space for bedrooms and bathrooms. Kitchen space and utensils were very useful for night time dinners and cooking. Location was near downtown Ironwood which made for easy walking and sightseeing. Loved walking to Rigoni's bakery for what we considered the best home made pasties and baked goods in the area. Great location to see all of the Western UP sites (Black River area, Copper Peak, Houghton, Copper Harbor, Apostle Islands, Porcupine Mountains, etc). We really enjoyed our stay.
Stayed 3 nights for a weekend family reunion in area. The place was beautifully updated, spacious, comfortable, and had every amenity you could ever need. The beds, sheets, pillows were comfy, plenty of hot water, air conditioning units worked fine during the warm days. The dining room could easily seat a dozen people (altho we didn't have that many). The property was very close to downtown to be near restaurants, the brewery, and other businesses. Instructions on what needed to be done while in residence or upon leaving were clear. The front porch was a great place for a morning cup of coffee.
It was a beautiful home with spacious rooms and an abundance of beds. There is easy parking and additional spaces two doors down for added vehicles. We had six adults and everyone, except Mom & Dad, had their own room. Multiple beds in each bedroom meant that we could have had 4-5 more guests comfortably. Ample table seating, servingwear, utensils, mugs, cookware, and refrigerator space for a large get together.
There are so many family events like hiking trails, boating, shops, mine tours, and parks to visit in the area. What a dream rental.
The house is nice, large and lots of beds. There was room to park 5 trucks with trailers and UTVs. It was close to the trails and met our needs for the weekend.
The house was spotlessly clean and had everything that we needed. This is our second stay and we will definitely stay again the next time we are in the Ironwood area.
Our family was looking for a big enough house so that we could all stay together to celebrate the 4th of July with our extended family and friends. This house was more than perfect! The house was clean, well decorated and equipped and met all of our needs. We will certainly be back!
We have been going up to the UP for over 30 years to ski and snowmobile, etc., andTrailside Retreat is truly the best place we have stayed. Will definitely be returning next year.
We have been coming to the Ironwood area for nearly twenty years. Typically we stay at the downhill ski resorts, however, this time, we stayed at this property.
We were so happy with the space. It was perfect for socializing with our friends, cooking, and sleeping. The beds were comfortable. There was a cozy, well-lit sunroom. It was clean and spacious with plenty of bathrooms. It was minutes away from our favorite cross country skiing.
Our friends said multiple times that we should book the place again for our annual trip next year. Thank you to our hosts!
This was perfect for our Christmas ski vacation. Super big house well stocked. Even had a little Christmas tree for us. Super clean and large enough for all 6 of us.
We loved this house and Nicole was always available and so helpful!! Beautiful home, everything we needed and so clean! THANK YOU!

We are a busy family of 5 with 3 boys who love the outdoors. We bought this home as a place to be with each other, doing the things we love. We live in the Twin Cities so back home the trail system isn’t that great! The snowmobile and ATV trail entrance here is 3 blocks away and accessible straight from the home. We come up to the area all year long for these trails. For skiing or snowboarding, Powderhorn, Indianhead and Blackjack are all about 10 minutes away. We love a good breakfast and the Uptown Diner is 1 block away!
Why they chose this property
This property is cute enough to suit a girls weekend but masculine enough not to scare the boys away. Every room in the house has its own theme that fits why you are vacationing here in the first place. You’ll be coming for the outdoors but won’t want to leave the coziness of the inside!
What makes this property unique
2 of the bedrooms have adjoining bathrooms. There is a long driveway for the house and an additional driveway and garage on another lot. This is important in the winter because you can not park on the city streets.
