Spacious 3600 sq ft 5 king bedrooms with extra bunkbeds
Full of natural light, Southern Lights is open and inviting with its vaulted ceiling, open floor plan, and large sunny windows. Set in the woods just 1.5 miles from the main entrance to off road riding in the Ouachita National Forest, Southern Lights is also just six miles from the nearest boat ramp on Broken Bow Lake. Sitting on a country dirt road near the end there is not a lot of traffic making this a lovely spot to relax.
The open kitchen with its massive marble slab island is fully equipped for large family cooking and serving along with a BBQ grill on the upper full length back deck, with plenty of outdoor seating. The hot tub and more furniture is below on another full length back deck. Sit around the firepit while playing horse shoes out back.
Extra large and comfy couches are both upstairs and down, with an extra long dining table that seats 10. More seating at the island and extra chairs tucked around mean plenty of seating both upstairs and down for all.
Ping pong, foosball and a checker/chess table are downstairs along with a large screen TV.
A feature that may be important, there is an outside entry to the downstairs that is level with the parking area, no stairs.
Three of the master bedrooms are upstairs, all king beds. The two downstairs each have a king bed and a bunkbed, and there is another bunkbed out in the shared space of the game room area.

We spent Christmas at Southern lights with our children and grandchildren. The house was very spacious and the area was quiet and peaceful. It rained the entire week but there was plenty with the game room, hot tub, etc. to keep everyone busy. The beds were amazingly comfortable. The host is wonderful about answering questions promptly. I would suggest you take a skillet with you as the ones there don’t have a good surface. We loved our stay and would definitely return.
I booked this cabin for my family of 10. The cabin is beautiful and spacious! The kitchen is stocked with all utensils that may be needed for cooking. The host quickly responded to any questions I had before the trip, during, and after. We would definitely book this cabin again.

Beautiful ski chalet style cabin. Entrance roads get a 1 star. Terrible maintenence on access roads
Beautiful cabin. Very upper end chalet.style. poor access roads and signage.
What a quiet neighborhood and spacious home that we had to ourselves! From the beginning, the host was readily available with any questions/requests that I had regarding access to the property, helpful tips on how to find the property, suggestions to do around town, etc. Our crew did not have any requests upon arrival or during our stay as all of our needs were met! The only suggestion that I would provide is to have the owner replace most (if not all) the frying pans in the kitchen.
We had a group of ten with two teens. The cabin was perfect. The teens spent most of the time downstairs and you were able to close the door to keep down the noise! Large kitchen with everything we needed! We loved the hot tub and fire pit. Plenty of room on the balconies to relax for everyone! Excellent beds and nice linens! We will be back
The cabin was spacious, clean, and perfect for our family. We loved the openness of the main floor and all 10 of us being able to all sit together at the large table for meals.
The bottom floor was perfect as well. We played many games of ping pong & foosball with our grandkids & adult kids. Also had a “movie night” our last night in the spacious living area on the bottom floor.
Only complaint we had was the road getting to the cabin was pretty bad driving with all the huge pit holes. But other than that our trip was perfect.
We had a great time. There was plenty of room for all of us. The cabin was stocked with anything we needed, I packed stuff from home and didn't need it. The only thing I didn't like was the road up to the cabin, there were a lot of potholes in the road. My family wants to return sometime next year.
We stayed here for a team retreat and it was the perfect place to host our team! It had plenty of space; the kitchen was perfect and had everything we needed to cook for the weekend; the amenities made for a fun, relaxing weekend; and it was a nice, clean place. We will definitely be back!
The property was well maintained and is perfectly located, not too far from the town while it gives a secluded feel. Kids had great fun playing ping pong and Foosball. I would highly recomend this place.
We celebrated a 55th birthday and had a wonderful time. The cabin was huge and fit our group perfectly. We enjoyed the game room and hot tub as well. I would definitely recommend the Southern Lights cabin to others and look forward to staying again.
The cabin and property is amazing! It was very spacious and clean. Everything you need for kitchen supplies is there. The beds were were too firm for me but some may like it that way. The kids/teens enjoyed the downstairs space. Plenty of room for them to play games and watch movies. We were off to a great start until the water issues. We had no water the majority of our stay. Checked in on Friday, December 23rd around 4:15. We found we didn’t have hot water that night but Dale came right away on Saturday morning to fix that issue. By Saturday night through our departure on Monday morning, we had no water. We spent most of Christmas filling water jugs from the hot tub to flush toilets. The teenagers were really looking forward to getting in hot tub but with no water to shower afterwards it was not a good idea. We had bought groceries for Christmas dinner the day before so we stayed and made it work. It wasn’t the ideal situation but most had traveled over 7 hours to be there. Overall, I loved the cabin and being on the property. It was a Christmas we won’t forget!
Our four families enjoyed our stay at Southern Lights. We range in age from 75 to 2 and everyone thought it was wonderful. The cabin is much larger than what the photos show. The beds were very comfortable and each bedroom has a closet as well as drawer space for clothes. I ordered 2 bundles of firewood the day before our arrival and they were there just as promised. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils and very spacious.
We did not use the grill so I can’t comment on that. Those who used the hot tub said it was great. Plenty of parking and a quiet neighborhood that is close to a variety of activities. We all enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Southern Lights!
What a beautiful @“cabin” in the woods. Everything was perfect. We loved the big table for playing games and eating together, and the two decks we’re awesome for early morning coffee and late night drinks. We had some very competitive games of ping pong and foosball, then chilled in the hot tub. The bedrooms had plenty of room, the beds were super comfortable and the whole place was spotless. We cooked three meals in the spacious kitchen & found every kitchen tool we needed. We would definitely recommend this cabin to all our friends and family. It was perfect for 11 women on a girls trip weekend.
This is a gorgeous property with every amenity! Our group loved that every room had a king bed, and lots of spaces to hang out in. Would love to have stayed longer! Host was helpful and responsive, and sent detailed directions. Thank you for the lovely place to reconnect with friends and family!
We had 12 family members meet up from Texas and NE Oklahoma. Had a great stay and enjoyed the property. Very clean, and large enough for everyone to spread out and have their own space.
We absolutely loved this cabin! Everything you see in the listing is accurate plus more! It was very comfortable and met all the needs for our family getaway! You will no be dissatisfied! The roads going in are kinda rough but everything else was perfect!
Property was great everything was at our disposal big and plenty of room would definitely stay again directions to property was spot on thanks for that
We live in Hochatown and are available day and night!
Why they chose this property
The neighborhood is upscale rental cabins and treed, hilly lots. Just one and a half miles away is the main entrance to the Ouachita National Forest with it's miles and miles of off-road vehicle riding. Just 3 miles from Hochatown and the entrances to Broken Bow Lake and Beavers Bend State Park. The Broken Bow, Ok. area is comprised of several key destinations. Clean, clear and beautiful twenty-two mile long Broken Bow Lake has a marina, several boat ramps, boat and jet-ski rental vendors and camping/ picnic/swim areas. Beavers Bend State Park which is mainly the gorgeous river and hill area South of the dam has more boat rental vendors, a fly shop, campgrounds and picnic areas, along with many hiking trail plus a museum and nature center. The Ouachita National Forest has many miles of off road vehicle driving and also many old logging roads restricted to hiking or horse riding only. And the small town of Hochatown has many restaurants, equipment rentals, and fun activities for kids and adults alike, including the Hochatown Rescue Center and Petting Zoo. We love this place!
