They're not kidding when they say AWD or 4WD Needed

Unless you are an experienced off-road driver, I do NOT recommend this property! We had a VERY difficult time getting up the driveway after the last turn because it's not only rocky but has many deep potholes. We ended up staying at a local hotel for the last 2 nights for this reason. Once you get up the driveway, the building itself was dated and in need of some maintenance. You have to cross an unstable plywood board to get onto the front porch, we counted at least 5 burnt out light bulbs inside, the kitchen sink faucet spray button was broken, the cabinet beneath the sink had a broken hinge, and the top floor bathroom had an unpleasant odor. We slept in the first floor primary bedroom-the bed was not very comfortable. The views from the deck were beautiful, but the deck itself was also in need of repair.

Great secluded cabin in the woods

This was a peefect location for a girls weekend.Big living space, 4 spacious bedrooms. Hot tub was great And spectacular views. And only 15min drive into downtown Prescott. However, there are a few things to point out. The house was missing a few staple items, like salt and dishwasher soap. There was only 1 cutting board which made food preparation a bit challenging .Second, the last stretch of road was nearly impossible! The two Subarus were able to pass. However, the Honda Pilot could not get up the road!! The last stretch of road has huge crevises, large rocks. We ended up having to park the Honda Pilot down the hill in a very dark spot. This road needs to be fixed! It would be completely impossible to get up if there was snow or ice. The neighbor in the house where we got stuck was very rude and not helpful! He came out of his house, told us not to try going up the road and then stood outside watching us to make sure we did not attempt it again..Preschoff.

A couple of days in the mountains

My brothers and I spent three days at the home and it was great! The mountain views and air were amazing! Plus, the quietness of the whole area was incredible! The home is huge with bedrooms located throughout the home. You can definitely explore but get ready you are literally on the side of the mountain. The communication with host was excellent! I’m definitely heading back when I can. Thanks all!

Private and secluded

We appreciated the quiet and wildlife. The cabin was 90 degrees when we arrived, and took two days to cool down, never going below 76. Also, the can openers don't work. However, the solitude was great!

The Cabin

Gorgeous scenery and location. A little difficult to get there (pay attention to the description provided by the listing - 4WD and chains on tires are required to get there in the winter.) House was well stocked and we enjoyed the hot tub.

Beautiful views - House needs serious TLC and repair

Our stay was ok but the house needs A LOT of attention..it is VERY well used and rundown. There are A LOT of stains on the carpets and furniture and the house is very very well used. Upon arrival we found the cover of the hot tub completely caved in and barely any water in the hot tub at all. The decks are in need of SERIOUS repair and are a safety hazard. I DO NOT recommend allowing children out there unattended or even adults for that matter. SO UNSAFE! We arrived to find a very large puddle of water on the kitchen floor along with multiple kitchen cabinet doors loose and hanging off the hinges and notified the host immediately with videos and pictures and also noted the other issues regarding the hot tub issues. I sent the email within 30 minutes of arriving (Saturday at 5:30PM) and didn't receive any sort of response until 3 days later (Tuesday at 12:31PM). I want to note that we explained in the emails that we would clean up the leak and were just sending the emails with all the pictures and videos to show the condition of the house when we arrived accept for the hot tub, which needed servicing due to the caved in cover, lack of water and chemicals in order for us to us it. We ended up fixing the hot tub ourselves. The house could be a very comfortable stay if some heavy TLC was put in, a VERY deep clean and the broken, worn items were repaired. Washing machine only 1/2 works (agitator doesn't move). Host only responds during M-F bus. hours and no holidays.

Great overall, with one note

Overall great place! Beautiful, remote, and comfortable. It was a comfortable main area and the bedrooms were all nice. The listing is accurate and I would recommend it overall. My one note that guests should be aware of is that the kitchen is not very well equipped. There was no olive oil or even salt at the house, so be sure you bring *everything* you will need. The knives were dull, and there was only one cutting board. All of the pans were nonstick - there was nothing heavy-duty if that's what you need. On the plus side, there were two ovens. But if you keep that in mind, and plan accordingly, then you will have a great stay.

Wonderful family vacation

Great mountain getaway. The floorplan was perfect for 2 families with children. Definitely some wear and tear on the house and furniture- but for a mountain home that is expected. Overall, we were all very happy with our stay and would definitely plan another vacation there.

Prescott mountain getaway

The property was very nice, a bit of a struggle to find. The grill was left very dirty and the fire pit was not in the best shape. Other than that the house was great with a beautiful view. Patio was good sized and lovely to enjoy the weather. This is a great house for family and friends to gather. My only real disappointment was the extra guest charge. Although the house sleeps 11, initially we had 7 guests and the number changed to 8. We were asked to pay an added cost to change the contract amount. I thought this was a nonsense charge for an already pricey rental.

Not clean

The house is amazing, however it was difficult to find. I was suprised by how dirty the house was . There was trash strewn throughout the property. Dishes were dirty, showers were dirty. There was a large clump of black hair in one of the showers. The drains were clogged leaving a soap film on the bottom of the showers that made it very slippery. Downstairs shower was broken. There was enough toilet paper. There was no foil....would have been nice to have known about that. The couch had dirt, and foot prints all over it.. The barbecue grill was filty with old meat stuck to it, and the microwave handle was broken. Don't lean on the railing by the hot tub, it's not sturdy at all. The house is beautiful, but needs a cleaning service that actually cleans, and it needs some tlc. It was very spacious which was wonderful. If these things can be fixed, then I would definitely come back.

Quick Trip for a concert!

Overall the house itself was ok. The view was gorgeous and the out door patio was a really good size! There was a previous review left about the drive up. It was not ideal for night driving but it definitely was not that bad. My husband does have a lifted truck so we did not need to use 4 wheel drive. Maybe a small car would have a hard time but it was pretty easy for us!

It was lovely. However the initial listing needs more accurate and detailed information.

There were a few things that we noticed during our stay at the cabin that needed repair prior to getting there. They are as follows: The microwave handle was completely loose from door. The master bedroom patio stationary door would not line up to latch on the bottom and was very difficult to latch on the top. You can see the problem of alignment from the outside. It did not feel safely secured because of it. With difficulty I could latch the deadbolt thank goodness but only really secured the door when the top latch was secured. The master bedroom laundry basket had a dirty red corset lingerie left in it. The lower floor bathroom toilet roll holder fell completely off the cabinet. There were outlets in the kitchen around the sink and oven that were not working There was a large crack across floor on master bathroom tile There was a lounge chair in living room with a lot of leather peeled off There were various paint scrapes/scratches on the walls The little woven baskets near the front door had some breaks in the wicker There were some cups, cans, burnt marshmallows, etc. outside on the ground surrounding the cabin. Could be the wind blew them there. There were no washcloths in any bathrooms I do have pictures of most of the above The hot tub did get repaired while we were there after we requested. The battery’s in the firm alarm down stairs also was taken care of promptly It is a beautiful cabin.
