Well Appointed - Great Location

Four of us had a very enjoyable stay in Lucca. The apartment was in an excellent location inside the city walls and five minutes from a car parking garage. The apartment is a beautiful old building dating back to 1400s, fully renovated, very comfortable and carefully furnished with great sitting room and fully stocked kitchen. Sonia was very helpful and provided very useful information on Lucca.

Charming apartment that feels like a townhouse.

We loved the charm of this sweet apartment! Felt like a townhome. We cooked most nights and had the basics to do that. Great quiet safe location — with bikes! We rode them on the wall in Lucca — highly recommended! We would stay again!

A real surprise

Fabulous apartment in the walled city of Lucca. The layout was charming, different and so well designed. Everything you could possibly need was provided in terms of amenities and consumables. Will definitely return to this city and this apartment. Mrs Sonia was very helpful too.

Great layout for sharing, close proximity to the train station.

Thank you, Sonia, for a very nice stay! The apartment has a wonderful layout, with many different levels for sleeping. The lower floor has a laundry room and a half bath, along with a small room with a twin bed. The next floor is where you enter and the living room is small, but very comfortable. A few steps up take you to a very nice kitchen which had some basics such as tea and instant coffee which was welcomed. From the hall off the kitchen, you have a choice between the spiral stairs which leads to the ensuite bedroom and bath,at the other end of the hall, and a few steps down, to a very large bedroom with the bathroom just outside the door in the hallway. The entrance is from a courtyard which cuts down on street noises. A beautiful place with a very friendly and helpful manager, Sonia. She went out and bought bikes for us as they had apparently been stolen! There is a staircase which leads to the garage from the courtyard and it is safe to leave the bikes there. The location is only a block from the wall, with a ramp there for access to the path on the top of the wall. That is also the way to get to the train station, which is an easy walk, even with luggage.

Comfortable and charming inside the walls of Lucca

This is a wonderful place to stay in Lucca if you are there for a weekmore (and it is certainly a city worth spending time in). Being on the ground floor but not directly on the street level was perfect for my age. The flat itself has everything you could want, the bathroom has a good shower and is all decorated with Italian marble. It also has a washing machine and clothes dryer. The sitting room is very comfortable, with quality couches, and those amazing views over the antique garden. There is useful reading material in English about Lucca. And importantly, the beds, large and in separate bedrooms with good cupboard space is also very comfortable. Both the bedrooms are spacious and effective, we found the apartment ideal for our group of 4 for our 2 winter weeks. The upstairs bedroom has a gorgeous windows overlooking the garden and an ensuite bathroom with grand shower. The highlight for us was the location. There is a high quality grocery/delicatessen/wine shop practically next door (to the right from the front door) selling the best of Tuscan produce, and a very large supermarket tucked away downstairs in an arcade to the left just a minute's walk away. We tried a variety of local restaurants, and preferred the unpretentious osteria which offer limited menus of good home style Tuscan cooking and decent house wine for very reasonable prices. Lucca is a small city, and all its major attractions are within an easy stroll of the apartment. It also makes a good base to explore the Tuscan countrysidefor a day trip to Florence. Not having a car we booked a day trip with local guide, Donatella, to visit some wineries on the hills to try the famous Lucca wines. This was a great day out with a very engaging and knowledgeable guide. Overall, we highly recommend a stay in this Lucca flat.

WARMLY RECOMMENDED ACCOMMODATION IN LUCCA

We were delighted to spend our holiday in this handsomely decorated, spotlessly clean, stylish and elegant accommodation in central Lucca. The apartment is situated in a quiet leafy lane but within a stones throw of busier streets and all the historical attractions in this lovely medieval city. Mrs Sonia, the representitive who met with, and dealt with us was charming, friendly, helpful and kind. If you were holidaying during the week in term time, you may be as fortunate as we were to be awakened by the soothing sounds of beautiful classical music emanating from the music school nearby. We particularly enjoyed the Puccini music concerts held in the church of San Giovanni every day of the year and the wide choice of reasonably priced, good standard restaurants all over the city. We would be delighted to recommend this property and this company to any of our friends wishing to visit Tuscany. Jane

Clean, conveniently located

Overall, very clean apartment in safe, quiet area of Lucca. Easy walking to shopping and restaurants. Upstairs bedroom is reached only by narrow spiral staircase. Not for the weak or wobbly. Also no dresser or storage area at all in upstairs bathroom. Had to place mirror over bidet to make a shelf for any place to put toiletries. Downstairs bedroom area and bathroom are very nice. Be sure to bring toilet paper, soap, paper towels and all supplies you may need as there is none there. Arrived late Sunday and had to trek out to find store that sold these items. No parking any where near apartment which, I guess, is true if all of Lucca.

Very nice apartment in quiet location near the walls and cathedral

The apartment was very clean and spacious. Mrs. Sophia was very helpful and on time for our arrival. The apartment is on a quiet street away from the noise and traffic of the center of town but easy walking distance to everything. The entrance to our apartment was on a lovely inside courtyard with a locked entryway from the street being the only way to get to our door. There are three bedrooms and three baths. We used the main bedroom and bath just off the living room and kitchen. The upstairs bedroom has its own bath but you have to use a daunting spiral staircase to get up to that level. The basement bedroom appears to be rarely used. There is a washer and dryer on the basement level. The dryer took a long time to dry clothes probably because the vent needed cleaning. We couldn't figure out how to do that. The main bath and bedroom require a small flight of stairs up from the main floor and the bedroom is down some stairs from the bath. That was not a problem but could be if you have trouble with steps. The bathroom is big enough but the shower leaks on the floor and drains very slowly. The kitchen is very nice although we didn't cook. We did keep things in the refrigerator for snacks and breakfast. The only problem we had was that the wifi only worked about half the time, usually stopping mid day and coming back on in the middle of the night. We tried rebooting the router but that did not appear to be the problem. Also we could not figure out to get broadcast stations on the TV. There was one video for the DVD player and interestingly enough it was the Diane Lane movie "Under the Tuscan Sun". The town is just beautiful and we had a great time.

Simply amazing! Perfetto!

ENG (Italiano sotto) The apartment is simply perfect! The location is fantastic, every attraction is within reach and very class to the city walls. We loved to stroll around during night time, it is the best. The house is very big and comfy. I really liked the 2 bathrooms, it was super convinient. Also there is a third toilet in the basement, we used it only one time, which is not much but it sure comes in handy. The kitchen is fully equipped, we used it mainly for breakfast since we were out most of the day. Super recommend the stay here! Consiglio vivamente a tutti! Location perfetta e giardino interno bellissimo. Maybe the windows? Not a big deal but they were kinda tricky to open and close, but again, no big deal, we were able to open and close them just fine.

Nice apartment in great location

Nice 2 bedroom in a great location. Inside the city wall and easy walking distance to the train station. Lucca is small, charming, and a great jumping off point to other parts of Tuscany (Pisa, Florence, Siena, etc.). The apartment was clean and well appointed. Unfortunately, the bicycle tire's were flat. We were told that we needed to walk them around the corner (to a bike shop) to have them filled, but the shop was consistently closed. A little disappointing but not a big problem, as Lucca is easily walkable. Also, there was virtually no toilet paper or paper towel in the room, and we were told that we needed to purchase. Fortunately, we arrived during hours when stores were open. Loved our stay in Lucca and highly recommend.

Beautiful property. Some misrepresentation (1) guests cannot sit outside (2) no car parking.

Beautiful comfortable property with excellent WIFI and bikes which were a wonderful addition. The first photograph of the property clearly shows seating and a table in the garden area which was a strong factor in choosing this accommodation however it was made clear that it was unacceptable to sit outside. There is no parking available and this can make it awkward. The washing machine did not spin. Having said this it was a magical place and we would go back.

Beautifully presented

The apartment is very well presented, very clean and adequately equipped. A small prep knife would be the only thing we could mention that we would have found useful. The kitchen is on the small side just enough space for 2 people to work in. The electric supply is very sensitive and was a little frustrating at times but with careful planning it was easy to coordinate. The upper bedroom does not have air con but there is an electric fan which we found adequate in conjunction with leaving the air con switched on in the lounge. It is worth mentioning most days during our stay it was over 30 degrees and we found the apartment cool and comfortable - except when cooking 😓 😊😊 overall we enjoyed our stay.

Great location!

Overall very nice, we would have liked the kitchen to be better equipped for a month long stay (measurements cup and spoons, saucepans, small bowls, etc.). If mobility issues, there are 4 steps up to main bathroom from living room with another 4 steps down to bedroom. If you need to visit the bathroom during the night, leave the bathroom light on to navigate from bedroom to bath to avoid falling on the steps. Our nightlight was not bright enough to light the way. Great location for train station and the wall for lovely walks. Pasticceria Dianda is around the corner for morning cappuccino and wonderful pastry. Wifi can be slow at times. Needed to reboot the router a few times when it stopped working. Other than that, the apartment is nicely decorated in a lovely palazzo for a comfortable stay.

Convenient location for our month-long stay

Reading through the most recent review, I couldn't describe the layout of the apartment any better. Sonia was waiting for us when we arrived, having called a taxi for us to take us from the parking garage to the apartment. She welcomed us and shared her tips to help up feel at home. The next day, we had to call her regarding a couple needed plumbing repairs and she took care of them promptly. Since we were there for a month, we missed a few conveniences in the kitchen: a 500 ml measuring cup (we left the one we purchased), a few smaller sized bowls, a paring knife or something smaller than all the long knives provided, and a second saucepan. We're not complaining, just noting. The apartment is very quiet other than the occasional work that was being performed on the building. If mobility is an issue, the bedroom/bathroom on the main floor can be an issue, especially during the night. The second bedroom would be out of the question with the spiral staircase and a very low bed. There are two new bicycles in the garage which we didn't use, but are a very nice touch for those able to ride around town and on the wall. We enjoyed the bright, sunny light from the courtyard, especially with the doors open to enjoy the formal garden. Thank you, Sonia, for making us feel at home.

Had to move due to Jackhammer Construction out the window

the apartment itself was lovely and sunny. the living room was quite small and the kitchen was tiny. it was spotless and the beds were amazingly comfortable. Sonia, the property manager was great. but we had to move after one day as construction directly outside the window in the courtyard was going on all month. WITH JACKHAMMERS. I think the owner should have told us or made it more clear to the property manager. The management company (Sonia) was great helping us move to a different apartment.

thank you Sonia for sharing the best apartment

On our arrival we were shown round by sonia and her cleaner. Sonia was very welcoming and we were shown round well. I say this as the apartment is large bigger than the photos can express online. It is furnished beautifully with a fantastic view over the antique garden which we loved enjoying while playing chess or cards with the kids till the early hours. The Duomo and shops are a minute away all clean. Costs are very low compared to what we got and everything is well looked after and we were very satisfied. Sonia herself was very helpful answered any questions very quickly especially when we locked ourselves out. Thank you Sonia! We had a wonderful time and feel this is the best apartment in Lucca!
