About this property

Historic Carolina Beach Cottage Across from Oceanfront & Screened Porch

This adorable cottage went from neglected to nurtured, and has turned into a little gem on the island. The beach access is right across the street (about 50 yards away). It has a coppertop roof, all new vinyl siding and a wraparound porch that is screened in, so you can people watch all day or enjoy relaxing on the 2 wicker couches.
The bedrooms boast a Queen bed each, plus a daybed. The walls in the living room have shiplap, the full size kitchen has floating shelves with subway tiles, and the baths have bead board, new vanities, and a full size washer dryer.
You have the whole lot to park cars, vans, boats, whatever. The Ocean Grill and Tiki Bar (the BEST restaurant/bar on a pier on the island) is right across the street. Thursday nights are always live music before the fireworks courtesy of the Town of Carolina Beach, and you can watch from the porch or view on the beach.

Toddler’s first beach trip!

This was such a great place to stay for our child’s first beach trip. The house was perfect with great access to the beach and spacious screened porch. We appreciated having the wagon to carry our belongings to the beach. The homeowners were very supportive and communicative! We hope to return again!

Adorable Cottage

We loved this beach cottage. It looks even better than pictured online. The layout & furnishings maximize the space and make for a lovely getaway. And the porch is amazing. Highly recommend!

Small Boat Owner's Dream

One of few places on the island where you have AMPLE parking and can park your boat or RV. The outdoor shower is a great asset for summer sands. Great for a fun stay with 8 people. House is well stocked and the hosts are very responsive. I highly recommend!

This place was awesome and perfect for our family! The house was very quaint and cozy, right across from the beach, and the outside shower was perfect for the kids when coming home from a day on the beach!

Cutest Cottage

Such a cute little cottage across the street from our favorite spot (Tiki bar) in CB and many other things. Beach access close on either side of the property. Place was clean, well appointed, and reall had everything we needed. We loved hanging out on the screened porch at night listening to the waves and enjoying the ocean breezes.Hope we can visit again and again!

Fabulous Little Home

Amazing location for starters! This was an incredible cozy, clean place. The way the decor and layout of the place was set up makes the place feel like a home. We didnt want to leave! P.S. The AC units in this place are THE BEST!!! Kept us nice and cool during the super hot days we stayed.

Nice little place close to the beach access

Comfortable for a family of four or five, more if you must. Everything worked fine, but no local channels to watch weather that we could find and no carafe for the bigger coffee pot. Some dishes were put away dirty, but not a big deal. I would stay here again.

Off season stay

Amazing stay!!! The property is perfectly located and in a charming area of town! The greenway is close for running and biking! Host are quick on communicating! Tiki bar across the street has great drinks and fried shrimp. Granny’s kitchen has the best breakfast!

The house was comfortable and pretty. I liked the closed in porch and two bathrooms. I would like more handicapped accessible amenities such as handrails on the steps or a small ramp on one set of steps.

Another amazing stay in Carolina Beach!

We had such a great time Memorial Day Weekend. House is in the perfect location! Easy walk to the beach and restaurants. Especially important when the weather isn’t great! Comfortable, clean and very cute home. This is our second stay and we will definitely be making this our place for family beach vacations! Easy check in and check out and great communication with host. We felt like we were home only at the beach!

I happened to schedule this trip last minute for one night. It was a great location across the street from the beach and house was cute with everything you need. The host asked if i wanted an additional night since there wasn't another booking after me. They accommodated those arrangements very quickly, which worked out perfectly.

Perfect Beach House Vacation

This property is in a fabulous location and is very well appointed. Every detail is thought of. Very cute decor. The screened porch and outdoor shower are must haves. Literally across the street from the beach. Restaurants and Carolina Boardwalk in easy walking distance. Perfect for our family with older teens and college aged children. Great communication and responses from host. Easy check in and out. We had a fabulous Fourth of July, and would definitely recommend and stay again.

The property owner Erin was amazing! She went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful! She was super prompt with getting back to my questions & was very accommodating! She even had the porch lights on for us with a welcome note! The house was immaculate. The beds were comfortable & kitchen was well stocked with a big refrigerator. Close to the beach

We enjoyed our stay in Carolina Beach at this rental. The proximity to the beach and greenway trail couldn’t be beat! Pros * Comfortable master bed * Cute decor * Cozy seating in family room * Fabulous screened porch for reading and people-watching * Across street from two beach access points * Close (1/2 mile) to Island Greenway trail * Lots of thought around comfort, like additional hooks and storage cabinets in bathrooms, toothbrush holders, and blinds on all the windows * Plenty of napkins, paper towels, toilet paper Cons * House is on a busy road * Queen beds are pushed against the wall, making it difficult to extricate yourself for a late-night bathroom break * Could use more hand towels (there were none in the guest bath, and only one in the kitchen) * Some items could use a deep cleaning, like the toothbrush holders and laundry * No A/C in guest bedroom - thankfully, it was just the two of us, so we didn’t need it

Steve, her devoted partner, is a Virginia native, and has an incredible ability to run a small company by day, and turn into construction guy by night. They have several VRBO properties on Pleasure Island, and both always enjoy talking to their guests, sharing best spots, and helping out with guests' stays.

Why they chose this property

We were looking for something else, then eyeballed this house on a listing. We stopped, looked, and felt something. But were just not able to commit. Then, after about 3 months, saw it was still there (there was a contract that fell through), and decided to go for it. We loved it because of it's proximity to Carolina Beach Boardwalk, and the great Ocean Grille and Tikki Bar across the street. It's rare to find a piece of property on a highly desired piece of land that we could afford. So we sunk blood, sweat, tears into the project, because we both knew of its potential. Just needed a good facelift, make-over - lipstick if you will! We're so happy to share with guests that come as families to enjoy the beautiful beaches.

I love the screened porch, because of the breezes, sounds, and people that shuffle by.
I love the modern and historic feel of the rooms. I love how close the home is to the beach, gas station, restaurants, boardwalk, fireworks, etc.....
