Nice place - would revisit
Picked this property mainly because it is not far from where my mother lives and it turned out much better than the description.
It is last in a line of houses leading down to a jetty where various boats are moored, and as such is very secluded, with a great view of the Vilaine river and the bridges crossing to La Roche Bernard (from the river bank you can also see one that is just the remaining pillars after the retreating Germans blew it up). The garden backs onto woodland.
From the front door there is a small but well equipped kitchen to the right and to the left 5 steps up to a toilet, walk-in cupboard, double bedroom with balcony and en-suite bath and shower, then an open staircase leading to 2 further bedrooms and another toilet and sink. The main part of the house is a large open plan dining and sitting area with patio doors to the deck, garden and heated pool. Tucked away off to the right is another double bedroom with ensuite shower and separate toilet (its a French thing).
There's not a lot in Nivillac itself - a small supermarket, butcher, bakery and restaurant, but it is only a 2 minute drive. About 10+ minutes away is a decent size Carrefour that also has fast charger units at the adjoining Brico (we drove down in an electric car).
As with all properties that are/were a family home it has various quirks and personal charm, but we really couldn't fault anything and would be very happy to return.
