This no-frills cottage is the perfect setting for your next vacation. Inside, you'll find a simplistic design with all the amenities of home, along with a rustic wood-burning fireplace and beautiful hardwood floors. Outside, the deck has an unobstructed view of the bay, as well as a private path to the water. Enjoy the professionally maintained buoy, available to hold or moor up to a 22-foot boat. Fishing, crabbing and shrimping are accessible from the beautiful beaches, when in season.

The home is a 7 minute drive from Olga proper, where you can dine at Catkin Cafe or have an adventure at the state park. There are plenty of beaches along the island at Doe Bay or Obstruction Pass Trailhead. There is a free dock and boat launch a mile away from this home.

Excellent place to see Rosario Strait

The house/cabin is sunny and quite comfortable. Great location, on a farm property which has its own private beach (a short walk down the hill slope). The kitchen, living room, and deck all have a great view of the water - weather ranged from crystal-clear, to misty and mysterious during our stay. Mt. Baker is visible from the front lawn (unfortunately not from the house itself due to some trees). The owners were kind enough to let us use their two kayaks, and we spent many happy hours floating around the bay looking at fish, jellyfish, and a magnificent bald eagle which flew overhead and rested in a big pine tree! A pair of deer browsed their way across the back lawn during our last evening.

Lovely Property and Cottage

The property was absolutely beautiful it was really wonderful to explore the bay in the kayaks that are provided. We ran into the folks that own the property and they were lovely as well, very friendly. The only negative is that the wifi did not work consistently, but that was alright as we were happy to have an unplugged retreat. Looking forward to staying here again!

Excellent location

Great location. Fully equipped kitchen, and comfy beds. The Sat TV does not work but the whole point of our getaway was to get away and reconnect with family, so this does not detract from my view of the stay

House is aged but comfortable

We loved the peacefulness of the location and the view of the water from the house. Being able to access the peninsula via the wood steps was a plus. And, the location on the island was perfect due to vicinity to Obstruction State Park and Moran State park.

Beautiful, quiet, and tranquil

Super sweet views of the water, islands, & sky. Very nice private beach, and peaceful setting. The kitchen is well equipped. Bed was comfortable, couch and chairs were comfortable. The code to the door didn’t work, and after trying it numerous times, we texted Vacasa and they responded with a different code for the lock box which got us in with a key. The light above the stove, under the microwave was burned out, so cooking was dimly lit. I’m sure they will replace the bulb tho. The coffee grinder didn’t work, so we needed to drive to the island market to grind our beans in the morning. I’m guessing they’ll buy a new one soon, or just bring ground coffee. The pots & pans and dishes were great for cooking, and eating as we liked to stay in, especially the day it rained. We will come back, as this is a sweet place to stay!

Lovely!

We loved being by the water facing the sun rise, beautiful view! Place was clean and well located. If you’re using one of the single bed mattress, we recommend putting it directly on the floor and not using the base it’s on because it sinks in the middle.

Beautiful, but frustrating

The location was lovely, the home very well supplied. The issue for us was the internet only worked for one day, Vacassa and VRBO could not do anything to remedy. We discovered the TMobile plan had reached their data limit each month. Folks, know this as there is no cell service there, thus, wi fi calling was what we depended on...it is too bad such a lovely place, that charges premium rates, is cutting corners on renters ability to communicate. Don't advertise internet service if it is only available at certain times.

Peaceful Location

This cabin faces East with a very nice view. Short walk to the water and rocky beach. Very quiet area on family owned land. We had cows as our neighbors and the local family were very nice people. The cabin interior is nice and had all the basics as a two bedroom house. Laundry room also. There’s a good sized gated deck off the front.

Mediocre house with amazing views

Cons- house looks clean on the surface but there’s a lot of dust and dirt. Had to wipe crumbs and dust off the counters and tables. Dirty shower curtain and toilet. Dead bugs in the windows, and many live ones we killed including a huge spider. Dated and stained furniture. No WiFi, no AC. Issues getting cable to work. Outdoor chairs covered in cobwebs. Pros- The view of the beach from the house is amazing. In a nice quiet neighborhood, 20 minutes outside of town. Decent size house fully stocked with the essentials.

Unique land, beautiful place for rest and retreat, and paddleboarding

Our second time at this amazing location on Orcas. This is really special land, on the farm, and the cottage is simple but lovely. We had a great experience, at the beach, on the little island, playing music, even brought or own propane fire to hang out on the deck, etc. Highly recommend. Definitely go hike up Mt Constitution and check out Doe Bay also. If needed you can even use the laundry room for an extra sleeping space. They have 2 roll away beds that are pretty soft but the mattresses work fine on the floor. Larger room has space for the roll-away next to main bed also.

SUCH an amazing vacation spot.

We absolutely cannot wait to go back. The cottage is lovely with an spacious open kitchen/living room, big bathroom, and fantastic views, but the real kicker was the private cove with fire pit and the viewpoint at the end of the spit. We spent every day out there and saw porpoises, seals, and sea otters. There was also bioluminescence in the cove (was a perfect no-moon night!). Our stay was above and beyond our expectations and is truly the perfect Orcas Island getaway! Be sure the check out Buck Bay Shellfish which is super close by, as is Orcas Island Kayaks where we rented for the day to kayak around Obstruction Island. Such a dreamy stay. :)
