About this property

Incredible crazy cool canyon crib Spectacular views from grass rooftop hot tub!<br>

This home is an experience, artistic design, inside pond with koi, views out every window of the beautiful canyon. And a grass roof with stargazing, games, fire pit AND hot tub! Why stay in a single hotel room when you can have this entire home and property surrounded by mountains and red rock views!! Unwind and unplug in this hidden gem tucked away in beautiful Oak Creek Canyon. The last home at the very end of a historic road, hidden from even the locals! This home has even been boasted on the news.

Enter through a gated impasse, this special & unique home was built by a local artist around a 20 ft Rocky Mountain cedar log that supports the roof center. Massive rocks from the nearby creek, reclaimed logs, reclaimed colored glass, were used as part of the construction. Great room with kitchen, living room, dining room are built around a central koi pond enveloped by cacti and 20 ft tall tropical plants. A semi spiral cedar staircase leads to second floor sleeping mezzanine, with a master bedroom and 2 additional sleeping quarters off of the master bathroom.

There is a fire pit (for seasonal use) along with a hot tub, on the roof. Yes, you read that right! Prepare to get dizzy from the stars if you decide to, "camp out," on the upstairs lawn! Red rocks, natural springs and many National Parks surround the area with hiking trails right out your door.

There is a full kitchen with a working antique stove, a second bathroom downstairs along with a washer and dryer for convenience. WIFI is available along with options to login to your Netflix and Amazon accounts on the 55" Smart TV . There is an additional Smart TV upstairs as well as an extensive DVD library to choose from too!

Indian Gardens is a fabulous Cafe and Market 1/2 a mile away that is a lovely walk as well as the countless attractions, restaurants and destinations in the town of Sedona. Not to mention, the close proximity to Flagstaff, the Grand Canyon and the many wineries in Page Springs. Something for everyone! Gain some perspective and peace in this beautiful Arizona treasure. Please do not feed the peacocks it’s not healthy for them thank you!

Fairy Tale stay

My wife and I had a fantastic stay at Natures Inn and felt as if we were in a fairy tale. The home puts you right in the middle of nature and removes any thoughts of life's hustle and bustle. Some of our highlights were listening to the creek gushing down the mountain, the short hikes right from the home, feeding the koi fish and star gazing in the darkness. We also saw a family of deer and a few javalinas around the property. The living area was very comfortable and we caught up on some Netflix movies after our days of hiking in the comfortable living area. A five minute drive from the home is a great litte market with the best breakfast and coffee, I think we stopped there every morning. 😀 The place had everything you need and all the conveniences to make your stay perfect. To sum it up Natures Inn was retreat and good for the soul. Thank you Robin and Tracey for communicating and making our check in easy. BTW... Some of the other reviews mentioned the steps were a challenge but we found them pretty easy to get up and down and plus there is a walk way to avoid the steps that makes it real easy to walk up to the home.

Amazing!

Most unique and beautiful house we’ve stayed in! I was close to tears going through it when we first arrived, even better than the pictures! Remote, beautiful views, much more than we expected. We didn’t want to leave! So grateful the owners are sharing this experience with the world 💕

Magical

The house and property are unbelievable. It was like walking into a fairy tale. We spent so much time on the roof reading and enjoying the views. We had plans to do hikes and go into town most days but ended up just staying home because it was so relaxing and enjoyable. Highly, highly recommend staying here :)

weekend respite

The man who built the house did an AMAZING job--stunning! And there were absolutely NO signs of bugs, etc. However, the current owner has decided NOT to do proper upkeep: the tub flooring is not being maintained; many pockets of the coating on the cement flooring are pocked &/or peeling; the table with chairs in the atrium is unusable; a post holding the end of a steep pipe railing was rotted & ez to shake with the pipe end wired to it along with a VERY overgrown spiky cactus that was in the middle of that pipe railing in a steep & slippery spot; there was NO railing along the next section up to the jacuzzi (on the roof with gorgeous views) where my friend almost slipped & would have fallen into yet another huge cactus with over an inch spikes; the gate to the upper deck also had rotted wood by its latch & at night, there were no lights up there (that I could find) except for a few tiny solar ones--also no type of shade not even an umbrella over the table/seating; while the jacuzzi was perfectly clear, clean, & a great temperature & chlorine mix, there are NO hand rails so be aware. Also be aware that one of the log stools in the kitchen is not stable, went over on me (I'm a normal size) & nearly took me with it to the cement floor. There is no type of Keurig coffee machine, just lots of old fashioned perk kind; the blender's mechanical parts were missing as were the working guts of an indoor grill. There were also (dead) spider webs both in one upper corner of the kitchen side of the atrium, in a large gap between the supports of the kitchen island near the floor, & someone in housekeeping missed the 1/2 used roll of toilet paper lying on the floor against the wall under the king bed. Be aware, too, that only ONE bed is private as the other 2 are open on the loft--pretty views but just be aware that. My biggest issues were that it was listed as "privacy" but not entirely true: locals use a property strip between the house & the adjacent Oak Creek; at about 8:45AM on Saturday, a lawn maintenance crew showed up which took us totally by surprise--I had been contemplating using the jacuzzi & almost did at that hour while my friend was still asleep! The 5 hour gap between check-in/out should be time for that. The manager, however, does her best--very helpful, sweet and immediately returns calls if she can't answer directly. She sent over her husband a few times to replace things...but neither of them should have had to do that.

A perfect place

We’ve travelled all over the world and this is unquestionably one of the top properties we have ever stayed in. Robin was an awesome host who helped us avoid some of the issues in the Sedona area that came with the rainstorm and flooding that occurred when we were there. We hope we get to come back and stay longer.

A True Treasure

This is the place to get away from it all. Robin was an amazing host and there was a lovely welcome basket and note on our arrival. Nestled in the canyon, the roof top views will take your breath away. We saw deer, ring tailed lemur and many birds during our stay. I was glad to read the other reviews and bring all our groceries in to relax and enjoy once we got there. One really nice surprise was the stocked pantry with so many kitchen tools and basic supplies. That is right, I forgot to buy olive oil, but was delighted to find it in the pantry. Everytime I looked around the house, I noticed some new detail. Thank you for an unforgettable, relaxing trip!

Must stay!

This place is awesome! My 5 & 10 year old thought it was a castle. My teen thought it was insane lol! A breath-taking home in the canyon, peacocks & deer roaming the property, Koi pond inside, fish pond outside, hot tub, a peaceful creek...what else could you ask for?!! This place is definitely an amazing experience for kids & adults. We have stayed at a few places in Sedona & nothing compares to this place. Thank you Robin (host) for sharing your beautiful home with us. We will be back for sure!!

Absolutely adored our time here. Extremely clean, great communication, and everything you could possibly want/need is in the house. Excellent hosts, STUNNING house and property!! Can’t wait to go back! Make sure you go to grocery store BEFORE you get to the house as you will not want to leave again. We didn’t leave. We bbq-ed at the house and enjoyed the house our entire trip. 5 stars 10/10!

Fairytale Property

This is, without a doubt, a 5-star property. Having said that, it’s important to note that I’m using a different grading scale than I normally would. This isn’t a luxury home. The beds are hit or miss, the chair covers are stained, the pillows, comforters, and shams need replaced, and the sheets are a synthetic blend (microfiber, probably). There are some maintenance issues with the home, some areas of the house feel cluttered, the lighting is dim, it could use a fresh coat of paint to brighten things up, and the corners and baseboards need a thorough cleaning. So why 5 stars? This VRBO is an EXPERIENCE. The house itself is something out of a fairytale. The interior of the house is solidly built and extraordinary to behold, as you can see from the pictures. The house has high humidity and felt like a rainforest at times. It was a godsend for us. No eczema outbreaks or nosebleeds due to the dry Arizona air. The outdoor spaces flow from one beautiful garden to the next, each filled with its own unique vibe, like different-themed rooms in a house (the small pond at the foot of the property dancing with minnows and tadpoles, the natural stone staircase winding up to the patio table and grill, the hammock nook bathed in dappled sunlight beneath a canopy of trees, the glass mosaic pathway meandering up the side of the house, the latticed bridge that leads to the rooftop lawn with stunning views, and more). The peacocks were charming and came over every morning like clockwork. We learned that they eat mice and snakes, along with insects. Not just beautiful, but useful. The hike to Frog’s Hollow was short, adventurous, and just the right amount of ruggedness for a cautious explorer. We didn’t see another soul on the path or in the canyon, and we must have explored that area half a dozen different times. If Frog’s Hollow was accessible by the public, it would be swarming with people. It’s THAT amazing. Do be on the lookout for snakes while on the path to the hollow, especially during dawn & dusk. Communication was outstanding. Robin addressed any issues we had quickly and effectively, and Doug came over right away to assist us with a hot problem issue. We count ourselves fortunate to have experienced Nature’s Inn.

Amazing

Everything about this property is wonderful. I family had an a easing stay while in Sedona. What could be more fantastic than a magical log cabin with use of the canyons on all sides! It’s a perfect location for us to come home to from our adventuring and hiking throughout the area. Robin, our host was delightful and very helpful with anything that we needed . Cell service is spotty but that’s pretty consistent for the area. There is an extensive DVD library, ranging from classic Disney to Pirates of the Caribbean to cowboys/Indians to ghost stories. The hot tub was clean, the gardens especially the rooftop garden were fun to hang out and play corn hole. A hiking trail just off the backyard lead you to red rock and a stream. We all wanna go back next time we’re in Sedona!

Beautiful canyon views

We loved the setting and the style of the house. Just be aware that two of the beds are on a loft visible to everyone in the house. The king is in its own room. There is one shower and a tub. The kitchen is great. The Wi-Fi is fair. The tv has a Blu-ray player but no connectivity to the internet. But the views stars hottub and “glamping” feeling are awesome and quite unique!

A nature fairytale refuge

From the moment we arrived at the Nature’s Inn, we had an unforgettable experience. My two young kids had the time of their life exploring the ins and outs of Tracey ‘s nature paradise. One thing to know is that house amenities are a little dated - do not expect high speed internet, smart locks, or other hi tech equipments here - but this only adds to the charm of the experience. Note: 3 out of the 4 beds are on the open mezzanine. The house natural surroundings were far beyond our expectations. If you are looking for a unique, private retreat in nature, this is perfection. Tracey is a wonderful host, kind and extremely responsive. We could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you Tracey for welcoming us so warmly into your very special home. We’ve made long lasting memories and hope to be back soon.

Enchanting hideaway

My family of 5 had a wonderful stay. The house is beautiful, unique and lovingly cared for, just like the pictures. The outdoor spaces were incredible— lots of areas on which to play and explore, a beautiful hike just out the door that was one of of our favorites of the trip, and stargazing on the roof. We would hike during the day, come home and the kids would play outside. Each evening we would finish on the rooftop lawn— bocce ball, takeout dinner, s’mores , stargazing, and after the kids were in bed, wind down in the hot tub under the stars. The sound of the stream just outside was wonderful day and night. It felt like a luxurious adventure throughout our stay. Tracey was friendly, communicative and very easy to reach throughout as well.

Why they chose this property

We would ask "why not?" A one-of-a-kind unique experience in beautiful Sedona. Unlike other rentals we are "nestled" in a private canyon, private hiking, I guess privacy would be the word. The house is unlike others with the feeling like you are in the outdoors. Quiet, remote yet only 5 miles from the heart of Sedona.

What makes this property unique

PRIVACY!!! Nestled in the canyon surrounded by national forest. Rooftop fun playing cornhole on the grass or stargazing at night in a beautiful hot tub on the rooftop! Perhaps some morning yoga on the roof or in the middle of the red rocks in our canyon. Chose your delight! Close to town although you'll feel like you are in your own little world. A "must do" experience, nothing like it in Sedona.
