About this property

Our home is a beautiful Cape Cod that has been professionally decorated throughout. It is the epitome of a contemporary lake house: Light, colorful, stylish, with top-level upgrades. Plenty of space -- indoors and on the large back patio -- to relax. It offers 4 spacious bedrooms, 2 full baths, a large kitchen and dining area. The backyard features a large patio enough to comfortably accommodate large extended families -- gas grill, gas fire pit, and other features as well!

The location on the vrbo map is not accurate (see picture of map with correction location in our photos). We are 1/2 mile from the South Beach blue stairs, and about 1 mile from downtown.

Minimum 2-night stay except for peak season (end of May to beginning of September) when we only rent weekly (Saturday to Saturday).

In 2015, we did a COMPLETE overhaul of the home: Literally taking it down to the studs and putting in NEW kitchen cabinets, microwave, bathroom cabinets and features, washer and dryer, and carpeting and flooring throughout. The home also features a stainless steel stove, toaster, coffee pot, blender, mixer, outdoor gas grill, fire pit, air conditioning, comfortable 300+ count sheets, etc. Secured WiFi included, as well as a kitchen tv and large screen tv in the living room both of which have premier cable, access to many different channels, etc. We also provide an extensive array of board games, puzzles, and other interactive activities!

Our home is special to us, and we are picky; if you are someone who appreciates the nice things in life and can take care of our home as if they were your own, this rental is for you. We require a security deposit of $600 which is fully refundable when the home is left as you found it.

Friends meeting up for fun

We were very pleased with this lovely home & all the amenities. The 4 bedrooms were spacious & well appointed. The bathrooms were ample, nice towels, kitchen well equipped, comfortable furniture & nice patio. We enjoyed shopping, beach walking & exploring the area.

Great location!

Our family of 5 came to SH for the week and had kid’s friends and my parents join us through out the week. Love that we had a place to spread out and the walk to the beach was an ease!

Family Reunion Time

Especially enjoyed the walk to the beach, the backyard furnishings and the amazing kitchen. We cooked a meal for 60 people (although we did not have 60 people at the house) and had plenty of counter space. Had the feel of a lake cottage!!!!

Perfect home for a family wanting to enjoy time together

This property was very accurate to the description! We loved the great backyard, the playground got lots of use. Great yard to play croquet or throw a frisbee. Kitchen was incredibly spacious with everything you need for cooking in. The game closet was frequently used. Plenty of places for everyone to eat together. Rooms were perfect for our group. While 2 bathrooms was a concern, it was no issue. And the walking distance was perfect to the beach, downtown, Kids Corner, sunsets. We will return!

BFF Girls Getaway

The house was perfect! 5 high school friends getting away to celebrate us turning 60. Quiet location. So close to downtown South Haven. Great spaces in the home to visit and play some games. But enough private rooms to have "me" time of needed. Would definitely rent this home again!

Girls Trip

The house was great for a party of 7 plus a child. The main floor was spacious so we never felt crowded. The backyard was great…large dining table, fire pit and swing set for the little ones. We definitely would stay here again.

Wonderful home

Great experience!

Perhaps my best VRBO experience yet. The house was very clean and well kept. The location was great - just a 15 minute walk to the beautiful, clean, kid-friendly Kid's Beach in South Haven. We will definitely rent again.

Great week!

We had a fantastic week at this property. The house was spotless, and the kitchen was well stocked, we had everything we needed for a wonderful vacation. The weather cooperated, and we ate every single meal out on the back patio. We enjoyed the gas fire pit, played games in the side yard, access to the bike trail to Van Buren state park was two blocks away, and the neighborhood was very nice and quiet. Mark was extremely communicative and responded quickly when we reached out with a question. We would definitely stay here again!

FABULOUS HOME!

This was a stellar place to stay! We have been coming to SOHA for 11 summers and this was one of our favorite places. If we hadn’t just impulsively purchased our own cottage while in town, we would stay here every year!! Great location, beautiful home, quiet street. Short walk to beach!

South Haven - a place to rest and restore

Our vacation home was lovely, clean, and had everything we needed, if we stayed in and cooked or went out to eat. While you are in SH try yoga on the beach (SWF) or meditative prayer (TTH) at the Episcopal Church.

Great House to Stay In

Beautiful and clean house with all the comforts one could ask for for a beach vacation. The only challenge we ran into with the property is that we specifically were looking for a house with a first-floor bedroom and walk-in shower to accommodate elderly parents. While this home offered both, the first-floor bedroom had no closet and only a tiny dresser. Luckily the laundry room is right down the hall and offered some additional room for clothing. This would not be an issue for younger folks but was a bit of a hassle for our 80-year-old parents. Don't let this dissuade you from the home, it was something that applied to our situation specifically. Mark was an excellent host and the house was lovely.

Mindee's 50th Girls Trip

Our stay at this house was everything advertised and what we thought it would be. The house was very clean and well-stocked. Two minor hiccups. First, there is a learning curve on shutting/locking the front door. Secondly, the laundry detergent that was used for blankets gave one of us a terrible skin reaction which resulted in dermatitis and a trip to get cortisone cream. Also, the sheets had a very strong floral scent (definitely did not want to pull the sheets up around your head). The neighborhood was quiet and lovely. I would stay there again THANKS!!!

Overall great!

I would have liked more guidance on how to open the front door. The code was easy, but didn't know what to do after the code was entered. It was especially difficult because we arrived after dark. We thought it was a little odd that the book stated to replace the toilet paper since we were paying for the rental/cleaning fee.

Time with “longtime friends “

Another great week in our favorite town! We’ve been coming to this town for several years! This place was newly decorated, clean, spacious and plenty of room for our group of friends….sharing old memories and making new ones!! Family Get-away.

Our family was very impressed with this property. It was clean, well appointed with lovely decorative accents. We really enjoyed the spacious kitchen, fire pit, backyard and game room with toys! The house was even larger than we expected. The house was on a lovely private street within walking distance to Kid’s Corner, beach and down town South Haven. Hoping to return!
