About the host
Hosted by Alex Hyman

My family has owned this property for over 100 years. When originally purchased by our grandparents, Westport was indeed the country and predominantly farmland. Today we still love the beach that ancestors and friends enjoyed in the 1930's. With four generations of our family having lived here, we've always loved this place. While we've traveled and lived elsewhere throughout the world, this has always been "home". It's been completely renovated and updated with modern conveniences in recent years. Much has changed over the years in Westport but our home, and the surrounding neighborhood, still holds the quaint and charming feeling of long ago.
Why they chose this property
House and Garden charm with lots of style along with a simple and relaxing feel. Just the right amount of seclusion without a sense of being tucked away to the point of feeling isolated. Probably one of the best areas in town, with Earth Place and the Wadsworth Arboretum walking trails half a block away, and Nash's pond across the street. Add to that a ten minute drive to the train station, several Westport beaches and public recreation areas and a short walk to town, making this a unique and wonderful property.
