We are a family of 5 (kids ages 16, 14, 10), and hosted friends for each of the kids the first part of the week, and additional family for the last few days. The home and yard were spacious and set up well for activities, and the proximity to the beach was perfect for walking back and forth when needed. The neighbors were all incredibly friendly, and even helped introduce us to a family member to watch our dog while we took a day trip to Martha's Vineyard. We had an amazing week and very much enjoyed this home.
It was an adequate gathering place for 11 family members, including 3 little kids, 2 sets of parents, grandparents and young adults.
But, if you like to use the kitchen, you will be woefully disappointed. It was so disorganized, that I had to hunt for a bowl, a knife (dangerously dull) , a knife sharpener (no find)...., no big serving platter, and basic kitchen tools. There are no small glasses for children, there are random empty, or almost empty drawers that keep getting opened in hopes of finding something. It took the joy out of vacation food preparation.
In addition, for a home which accommodated 11 people, it lacked space in the two bathrooms to hang bath towels. Lot's of mix-ups occurred and we regretfully resorted to draping them on the wooden railings of second floor..
Lastly, the bed sheets were very old, flimsy polyester.
For a rental IN THIS PRICE RANGE, I did expect more consideration in the above areas. The kitchen could easily be organized and supplied with basic cooking tools. Hooks and more towel bars, (heck, a coat tree). can be installed in the bathrooms, And nice sheets could be easily purchased.
It was great to be able to have the whole family together under one roof.
Nice home. Needed some work. Bedrooms were nice. The shower upstairs leaked around the seal of the door. Needs more than 1 covered garbage can for a house that holds 14 people for a 7 day stay. Location was very nice!
The house is located on dirt roads that can be challenging but this hidden gem is worth the trip.
I recently stayed at this location with my extended family two brothers and a sister and their children. The family reunion we do every year centers around the house. This has to not disappoint with large yards and plenty of room for the 14 of us that stayed. It was obvious upon arrival that the potential for the house was there. I don't know if we will return next year but that would just be one more week for someone else to enjoy it.

Large house in great location
Lots of great things about this property - half block from the ocean, swimmable beach nearby, 6 good size bedrooms, very large living area, big dining room table, nice deck., full size washer and dryer, dishwasher, stove, refrigerator and microwave. We had 8 people and had plenty of room.
A few things that could be improved on - all doors stick so getting in the house was difficult sometimes and can’t be locked. House is not particularly well maintained - broken and stuck drawers and closet doors, very dirty filter on air conditioner which makes upstairs hard to cool, beat up pans that are just thrown in kitchen cabinets, VERY dull knives, front window that won’t completely close, dishwasher not correctly connected to counter etc. TV is only available through Roku which is very cumbersome to use and frequently loses the signal. Also when we arrived there were only 2 beach chairs although house description says there are 8. After complaining about that, we were provided with 3 more.
Probably the most irritating issue was the fact that the owner expected you to wash, dry and fold all your towels and bed linens. We also had to make all the beds when we arrived. Also the trash is picked up midweek but the host expects you to take any remaining trash with you when you leave. I found both of these rules to be totally outrageous, especially considering how much you have to pay to rent this house!
We did have a great time, but we would have liked more reasonable rules and a better cared for house.
